    I'm 6 months loc'd as well as post partum 6 months. I loc'd my hair the same night I went into labor. Anywho, I've been struggling with dandruff, big flakes, for past few months. I thought it was dry scalp related. Each time I put any oil (blk castor oil, wild growth oil, carols daughter mix), my scalp would become so irritated. I found a few videos on detoxing with ACV, baking soda and lemon juice. The first treatment, I just used water and ACV, spritz'd my scalp and let it sit for 30 mins. I def felt the ACV working, it felt tingly, but then subsided. I washed my hair with design essentials rosemary and peppermint oil shampoo. My scalp felt so refreshed and light. I felt like it was finally able to breathe. I've since done a 2nd treatment with an ACV, lemon juice and baking soda soak, followed by same shampoo. I plan to continue with the ACV and water spritz for a few more washes and then may only do it once every 2 months to help keep my scalp balanced. Needless to say, I'm glad that I tried this as it has worked for my hair. Thank you for posting and sharing the difference btwn the two.

    Yea a couple drops of tea tree oil & water in a spray bottle helped a lot, just make sure u do it before u go outside so your hair drys naturally.

    An on time word. I was 5yrs loose natural prior to starting my 8 month thus far loc journey. However I recently began noticing my scalp will flake up really bad within 2 days of washing my hair. I used to use a DIY shampoo with a black soap base and other essential oils but I stopped a few months ago. I think I'll go back to it and will try some of your suggestions. Thank you.

    I only have dandruff with the dreads in along with itchiness. I think the first time was due too small of hair sections. The second and third time was they were in too tight (newb). I tried using dandruff shampoo and it worked the first time but not the second. Removed my conditioning routine during the last two times. Found that the wool dreads were causing an allergy. Synthetic dreads seem to be due to how I'm installing them. I am currently testing out different brands until I can find what works best. Been watching videos on what to do to prep them by soaking etcetera. I love the dread loc style. I hope I can get everything down to enjoy the style more. Thank you for your video!

    I have locs and for like the past 2 months or going on my scalp has became very dry. I tried moisturizing and was told to try baby oil. I have never had this huge of a "drought" so I gave it a try because I'm having flaking issues with it and etc.
    I am assuming that I need moisture for sure. I have used tea tree, black jamaican and jojoba with lavender all in a bottle with water added. Haven't done a oil treatment (with Africas best but going to stop completely because I learned it isn'treally good or 100% oils) lately.
    I moved from a purified water state to a non-purified one so I do believe that also has a huge impact on my scalp as well as skin. Going to get a shower head purifier or only wash/spray with purified H2O.
    12+ years with my locs
    ....
    But I need directions, suggestions and help from you or anyone lol. I have my Aloe leaf ready.
    😊 Thanks

    Hi I’ve been experiencing what I believe it extremely dry and itchy scalp. I try not to retwist often I’m about 9 months locd. I usually wait about a month to retwist sometimes longer than that but recently I had to do it after two week, getting ready for an interview. So my question is now how do you know the difference between dandruff and dry scalp. I didn’t have this problem with my scalp before and I wasn’t oiling it often then. So now I’m really trying to get a handle on it because my scalp is always itching. Please help

    • @BeSpiffyBeYou
      @BeSpiffyBeYou  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Miracle Flew do you have a moisture routine? How often do you moisturize your locs? Our bodies and hair changes overtime, so somethings may not work as they use to. You’ll know also if it’s dry scalp when you begin to moisturize your scalp regular and the problem fades away

    • @miracleflew3734
      @miracleflew3734 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BeSpiffyBeYou I didn’t use to moisturize I the beginning because I started with two strand twists. But now I oil my hair almost everyday since I retwist es a couple of days ago and I still see flakes in my locs.
