@@pathfinders4x477 I thought to try refrigerator on my Honda Civic passenger side axle seal but was afraid to try with freezing them. Then I remembered in my climate they freeze a few mos out of the year in winter anyway so... Thanks for your video, it gives me confidence to try the freezer. With the fridge it went in about halfway(with grease) and now I'm in seesawland -the upperside a mil coming out. Ugh. I used a seal tool too. Freezing must be the way to go.
You mentioned frost -- on a warm summer day, an object transitioning from cold to warm will condensate, just like a bottle of Coke. Once everything is out back together, the moisture would be trapped in the hub cavity. Should I be concerned with extra moisture in/on/around the race?
The only way to install bearings... I've never thought of freezing the seals though.
Yep. It'll keep them from "seesawing" when you start. They cruise right in.
