I think the entire tuning industry gained attention in India since the mid 2000s and there were mods mostly for diesels coz they were turbo charged ... I do remember tuning boxes for 1.3 multijet, Hyundai getz etc ...
That was the advent of "bolt-on" power mods as we call it. Even we grew up putting tuning boxes on the Elantra, Verna, Getz etc. And credit goes to Mr Peter Chacko of Pete's who started this trend.

Mass market for you is Innova crysta 2.4 Diesel if your able to make a proper reliable tune and R&D it so there it remains reliable and have a gradual power curve
Do you find much difference after stage 1 tuning the 1.5 and 1.6 tdi engines on the polo? Which one is more tuner friendly with more potential for gains with just a stage 1?and lastly what do u think is more reliable?
The 1.6TDIs make a tad less power than the 1.5TDIs. Around 5-10HP less. The 1.6TDIs were plagued by injector failures, all though that does exist in the 1.5TDI as well, it's very rare and only happens on really high mileage engines if the car has been constantly getting poor quality fuel. We prefer the 1.5TDIs over the 1.6TDIs personally.

TBH, we've not worked on a Nexon yet. If you want to get the car tuned, you'd have to drop by our HQ and let us see the feasibility of tuning these. Yes, tuning any car does void warranty! Also, we cannot alter the gearshift pattern on the AMT as that module cannot be read/written to.
We can do a Basic Stage 1 Tune however, if the car has run over 80k kms, you will have to sign a waiver that you're willing to tune a high mileage engine knowing the risks involved and you will not blame Harmonixx for any failures that may occur post the tune. Our tunes are 100% reliable on newer cars. However, we cannot analyse how much wear & tear there is internally in your powertrain when it's too old or has run high mileage.
what do you mean by DPF delete? is it possible to remove thr DPF totally leaving as worry free of DPF clogging associated with new age diesel bs6.2 cars especially with city usage?
We can do a DPF delete in the Software & replace the Catalytic Converter & DPF with a straight pipe so you won't have to worry about DPF clogging issues. But remember, with these your car will not pass emissions tests.
Don't bother wasting your time and money trying to tune small capacity Naturally Aspirated engines. The gains are so minuscule that you'd only be making your tuner rich by gifting them your hard earned money.

Our Stage 1 tunes do not affect engine reliability and in most cases our customers report an increase in FE too. We always recommend 7500kms oil changes even on stock cars.
The 1.5 CRDi ECUs can currently only be tuned via Boot, meaning we have to open up the ECU & read & write directly to the chip on the PCB. This method can be a bit risky & thus majority of the enthusiasts are waiting for an OBD/Bench protocol to be released which are a lot safer. But if it's DPF issues you're facing, we can disable that for you as long as you're okay with us opening your ECU.

Some of the 1.5TDCI engines are quite mod friendly, not all. Some show amazing gains, some just refuse to make similar gains. But overall the 1.5TDCI engine is decently mod friendly as well.
The Hyundai/Kia 1.5CRDI engines require the ECU to be opened up completely and our tunes are flashed directly by soldering/connecting to the PCB of your ECU. This is a risky process and we request those who don't want to do this to their ECUs to wait a bit longer until the OBD/Bench protocols are released for these ECUs.
Hello @harmonix tuning. I appreciate your transparent reply on NA engine tuning. I have visited multiple tuners. All of them said post stage 1 tune, there will 10% gain in power. But i didint blvd them bcz, just by stage 1, NA engine cannot makes 10% bump. They were just giving false data and they didint had dyno too.

The Etios engine can be tuned. However the gains won't be as high as some of the other engines. You can expect around 15-20HP and 40Nm.

What is the mechanical difference between the Fortuner MT and AT (as the AT produces an extra 50 Nm of torque)?
Gearbox on the AT handles more torque. MT will slip at that torque

1.6TDI anyday, but we prefer the 1.5TDI as they are less prone to reliability issues that plagued the 1.6TDI engines.

i have a 2014 polo 1.2 tdi, can it be tuned for just overcoming the turbo lag?
Can be tuned to slightly mitigate turbo lag. But turbo lag cannot be completely eliminated as that would be bending the Laws of Physics.

What about the Jeep Compass 2 L diesel?. Good to tune’?
Not the most mod friendly engine, but you can get some decent gains on it.

PUC tests are mostly unaffected as long as you leave the OE exhaust untouched and that is precisely what we recommend for all diesel motors.

Tuning Naturally Aspirated Engines in our view is a pointless exercise as the gains are very low.
Does the same go for a 1.8 ivtec civic Cvt
1.8 Civic is a Naturally Aspirated Engine and the gains are very less on these.

EGR deletes don't give any significant gains necessarily. The only advantage of doing an EGR delete is to keep the gunk out of your engine.
