I enjoyed your video! I just completed electrical plugins in our cargo trailer that we use for outside DJ gigs! I did the same wiring as you guys did just on a smaller scale. Thank you!

Hopefully you still read these posts if not if anyone can tell me if I am correct on my power for my trailer I’m building now. I’m insulating right now but next step breaker box.
Here is what I’m thinking I might be wrong but hope I don’t loose anyone. I am trying to wire my trailer for shore & generator power which ever one I need, sometimes the places hv external power, go to the beach I won’t so I’ll depend on my generator. I am using #10 SO cable running from my breaker box to front of my trailer, underneath trailer up into trailer and out the front of trailer, it will connect to a Reliance 50amp box w/plug(push on twist to lock), I am king to make a extension cord, 30’ made of #10g wire same wire I used from breaker box, I will put a female 50amp plug on one end it mates up with the box plug on my trailer, other end will be a 3 prong 15 amp to 50amp adapter plug, that way I can plug into a normal 120v house style plug and my trailer can run off shore power, if no shore power is available, I can just plug my generator into the reliance 50amp plug in front of trailer start up generator and never hv to get the king heavy extension cord out. Hope I did t loose anyone, now I hv to figure out war breaker box I need and how to freaking wire it. Everything will be 120v appliances in the trailer. Breaker box will be it sure a 6 breaker breaker box but I like the idea of having a main cut off main breaker I might put that in a seperate box easier to find or know exactly which to cut off if someone else is in the trailer. I never thought about jumping over to add my voltage. Wished you were my neighbor lol. I can run home runs to breakers, or add one but I never hooked up power cord to breaker box before, guess I need to get breaker box first then figure out where the SO cable wires into, I’m using your box as a example for me took pic of it for later use. Thanks for making the video wished someone would make a video of wiring up a new breaker box and the steps from start to running legs. Stay safe out there, always tryin to buildin a better America fir the people

Hi. Yes we are still here. Rusty said if you are running a 50 amping service you cannot use 10g wire. 6 g is needed. If running 30 amp you can use 10 but 8 is better. Please do not run 10 g wire to a 50 approx. I will read the other comments and answer those too. Thanks for watching

What size romex did you use to feed your panel? What amp panel did you use? Thank you

Hi and thanks for watching. Romex is an 8 gage. We used 60 amp panel because we could not find a 50. We hook to 50 amp service. We originally set this up for 30 amp but recently changed to 50. Our trailer is total electric and needed to be 50 for hot water, minisplit, microwave, toaster oven and induction stove. We suspected that would be the case but we already had all 30 amp cords so that was cheapest option. We spent about 300 last month changing main lead and breakers and buying 50 amp cord. Good luck with your build.

It appears that for all intents and purposes that this is basically a Sub Panel. On Sub Panels, you have to separate your grounds from your neutrals.

Also me again, all the breaker boxes at Home Depot says 100 amp that’s just a standard correct even though I won’t be using that much I can still use that beaker box correct

You're correct, you can use a 100 amp breaker box even if you aren't using that much power. You just need to make sure your wiring is properly sized for the load you're going to be pulling.
