R & S Life After 55
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 ธ.ค. 2019
We are a very active couple who have been married for almost 40 years. We love, love to camp. We have done our fair share of tent camping including being Wood Badge in Boy Scouts. We have also owned a couple of travel trailers over the years. We now have a cargo trailer that we converted into an RV. We are currently building a second conversion. We have kayak on a river for several nights taking only what we could carry and sleeping on the banks. We love our kayaks. We have electric bikes we take with us camping also and really enjoy those. We pride ourselves on not slowing down due to our age. We want others to know that age doesn't have to slow you down, Follow us on our adventures as we show you how exciting life is when your R & S Life after 55.

Thank you for telling us about this or these sights. Merry Christmas.
You are very welcome. Merry Christmas to you too!
I just got the accuquilt go big and it's wonderful
Oh I'm so jealous. Getting ready to roller cut hopefully my last quilt before I get me one. Thanks for watching.
Also me again, all the breaker boxes at Home Depot says 100 amp that’s just a standard correct even though I won’t be using that much I can still use that beaker box correct
You're correct, you can use a 100 amp breaker box even if you aren't using that much power. You just need to make sure your wiring is properly sized for the load you're going to be pulling.
Hopefully you still read these posts if not if anyone can tell me if I am correct on my power for my trailer I’m building now. I’m insulating right now but next step breaker box. Here is what I’m thinking I might be wrong but hope I don’t loose anyone. I am trying to wire my trailer for shore & generator power which ever one I need, sometimes the places hv external power, go to the beach I won’t so I’ll depend on my generator. I am using #10 SO cable running from my breaker box to front of my trailer, underneath trailer up into trailer and out the front of trailer, it will connect to a Reliance 50amp box w/plug(push on twist to lock), I am king to make a extension cord, 30’ made of #10g wire same wire I used from breaker box, I will put a female 50amp plug on one end it mates up with the box plug on my trailer, other end will be a 3 prong 15 amp to 50amp adapter plug, that way I can plug into a normal 120v house style plug and my trailer can run off shore power, if no shore power is available, I can just plug my generator into the reliance 50amp plug in front of trailer start up generator and never hv to get the king heavy extension cord out. Hope I did t loose anyone, now I hv to figure out war breaker box I need and how to freaking wire it. Everything will be 120v appliances in the trailer. Breaker box will be it sure a 6 breaker breaker box but I like the idea of having a main cut off main breaker I might put that in a seperate box easier to find or know exactly which to cut off if someone else is in the trailer. I never thought about jumping over to add my voltage. Wished you were my neighbor lol. I can run home runs to breakers, or add one but I never hooked up power cord to breaker box before, guess I need to get breaker box first then figure out where the SO cable wires into, I’m using your box as a example for me took pic of it for later use. Thanks for making the video wished someone would make a video of wiring up a new breaker box and the steps from start to running legs. Stay safe out there, always tryin to buildin a better America fir the people
We are out of town. Rusty said he would do a box with step by step when we get home. Give him a few days and I will post it. Thanks for watching
Rusty will help you. He is not your neighbor but pm us and he can walk you through it on messenger. You got this

Hi. Yes we are still here. Rusty said if you are running a 50 amping service you cannot use 10g wire. 6 g is needed. If running 30 amp you can use 10 but 8 is better. Please do not run 10 g wire to a 50 approx. I will read the other comments and answer those too. Thanks for watching

Your quilt is beautiful! ✂️🧵🪡
Thanks! It was a fun project. Thanks for watching
Update...I ripped it out and going to do the Quilt correctly or as it was written in directions. Ughhh. I bet I don't do that again. Read all directions. 😅😂😅
Looks great!!! How did you get it quilted so fast?
Probably determination. A granddaughter who really wanted one for christmas and we are out of town most of this month. Thanks for watching
Beautiful fabrics Kits! Can you please tell me what state this ships from, it doesn't list it on their site Thank you

Hey this channel is Life after 55! That includes all interests, not just cargo conversations. You’ll just increase your subscribers and share your talents with others that may have never landed on your channel.
Thanks. Very true. I think rusty is working on a wood working video to share. Trying to get him to do more videos. Thanks for watching
Very nice work Sherri, beautiful quilt made by a beautiful woman. It's great to see you and I'm so happy Rusty is doing so well. I wish you both a very Happy Holiday Season. Take good care.
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me.
What size romex did you use to feed your panel? What amp panel did you use? Thank you
Hi and thanks for watching. Romex is an 8 gage. We used 60 amp panel because we could not find a 50. We hook to 50 amp service. We originally set this up for 30 amp but recently changed to 50. Our trailer is total electric and needed to be 50 for hot water, minisplit, microwave, toaster oven and induction stove. We suspected that would be the case but we already had all 30 amp cords so that was cheapest option. We spent about 300 last month changing main lead and breakers and buying 50 amp cord. Good luck with your build.
@@rslifeafter5526 Thank you for replying and the information. Great channel!
I enjoyed your video! I just completed electrical plugins in our cargo trailer that we use for outside DJ gigs! I did the same wiring as you guys did just on a smaller scale. Thank you!
Your very welcome. Thanks so much for watching. Enjoy your trailer.
Great idea, love it so how is it holding up?
Thanks and thank you for watching
That's a man , just eat , sleep and shut, whenever you're retired, no more work on the brain, so women's gets to do it work , clean up and cook and sex job
Definitely one of the better looking Murphy beds in a cargo trailer out there, great job 👍👍
Thank you. We couldn't afford anything crazy so husband came up with a cheaper option. We love it. Thanks do much for watching
Great idea! I'm going to try this!

Would of liked to see the bed operation video was to cut up😮
We will try and get out there and film it better for you. Rusty has been fighting medical issues so we have recently moved into our new small house so I will have to wait and do that when its not so hot. Thanks for watching.
We are currently doing a CTC conversion. This is by far the best design I have seen for a murphy bed. We are planning a twin size murphy and I was wondering if you could tell me the exact bracket name you used or maybe a link to one where they can be purchased. We plan to have a 10" thick foam mattress for ours so finding brackets that would work like this would be amazing.
We just used a piano hinge and a Winch to move it up and down. Very simple install. Thanks for watching.
Wonder how a plywood floor would look.
Thanks for watching. Not sure how long or well the paint would hold out. Probably would work great with porch paint though. Good luck and let us know. I would love to see pics.
Hard to hear you sorry.
Thanks
Are you still working on the project ?
Yes. We have had a bad month but I am planning on doing a catch up video soon.
Happy Monday. What a great video. You two really work well together. I can't believe you guys just built that huge island, and made it looks easy. Amazing color and all the drawer space is a dream. I envy your carpentry skills. Mad respect! I get the cold shoulder at Menards. They see you coming and they either turn around or pretend their too busy to do, you know, their job.I think the steroid injection put a little pep in Rusty's step. So happy he's eating. And Sheri I do hope your thyroid issue gets resolved very quickly. Thanks for keeping us up to date, you're awesome.
Aww..ty. today we are heading to pick up tongue and groove to start walls. We have never done that before. Hope it goes easy too.
Good day R & S Life After 55. I'm going to say again how impressed I am with how everything is coming along. And I'm looking forward to the new kitchen island, and how you're going to set everything up. Rusty, you look amazing it's so good to see you. Please forgive me S, I don't remember ever hearing your first name. If you happen to read this comment could you please tell me. It's a bit awkward referring to you as only S. I want to wish you good luck on your Dr. visit. I think it's a law that your only allowed one unwell person per family. Have a happy and safe weekend.
Thanks. You always have the kindest words for us. My name is Sherri. I told rusty he needs to say my name more and start doing more videos. Lol. Now that he is feeling a little better I think he will do videos. He just hates that he can't talk to well yet. Thanks for watching. More to come.
Love the look on Rusty’s face when you “accidentally” lean into the light switch!😂
😆 🤣 😂
Things are really coming together, I'm so happy for you both. Soon you'll be able to sit back, relax and enjoy your new home. And Rusty, it was so nice to see (hear) you doing an update. I pray things will get better for you. Sending positive vibes you way. Have a great week. Take good care and continued success.
Thank you so much for the thoughts and kind words. We are getting excited to get this project done and start a new one. Lol. Thanks for watching.
Lobo! Hey I like them interior doors I saw end of video.
Glad you like them!
Hey! Old people rule! It will get done right!
Hahahaha. You got that. Lol
Been following your project looks great. My wife and I are preparing for a very simple plan in North AR. We live near Tulsa. So sorry for the concrete disaster.
Thank you so much for following. Good luck with your build. I would love to see yours when done too. Thanks for watching. We really appreciate that.
@@rslifeafter5526 if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to have the ceiling spray foamed ?
I dont mind at all. For the ceiling and the two gable ends we paid 4500.00. We did 2 inch closed cell and the completely covered everything. On our first house we built in 2000 we spent 3 weeks scraping foam off of the floors and windows. It was nice this time not having to do that. Thanks for watching and asking questions.
Looking great!❤
Thank you!!
