I just picked up a Gamecube recently but I didn't appreciate how much some of the more well thought of games go for. Twilight Princess is £50-60 and Ikaruga is on ebay for around £35 BIN. Thanks for sharing the video, at least there's some less well know games here to hunt for.
He called it the "thinking man's shooter" but the problem is that 1)No one over the age of 12 originally got the gamecube and 2)People who play shooters don't think very much. Most people probably thought it was too hard or to slow.
I love both equally. It's really hard for me to pick one over the other lol they're such great games. And YES I can't wait for X. One of the biggest reasons I've bought a Wii U xD
I came into these videos half expecting the BK series to go unmentioned. It's easily one of my favorite RPG series of all time, let alone best on the Gamecube. I'm glad it was the first to pop up on these videos.
Same here. I remember seeing a screenshot of what looked like Diadem on a developer's computer and it sparked a rumor that they were working on the third game. Could have been a hoax but even if it wasn't I doubt anything came of it. I remain hopeful.
I love these hidden gems videos as they usually lead me down the path to some new acquisitions. Keep rocking, MetalJesusRocks! You are a throwback to when gaming was so much simpler. Back when it was all about playing games and having fun instead of worrying about online, DLC, DRM, processing power and what number was at the end of your console's name. These videos make me miss what we all had even ten years ago.
I dig your videos, dude. I like the lack of immature yelling, the positivity, and the little blurbs for each game. It's not overbearing, and it's enjoyable to hear what you have to say.
Baten Kaitos and Killer7 are both absolute must have titles for the cube. I put countless hours in these two masterpieces. I picked up brand new Baten Kaitos up for 5€ at a local electronics store back in the day. Propably did not sell at all so they put it in one of those cheap game&dvds bowls.
I absolutely love Rogue Leader. Rebel Strike was okay, but the fact that it had all of Rogue Leader available for co-op made it worthwhile in my opinion. It's sad that both Lucasarts AND Factor 5 are gone now, so we'll probably never get another Rogue Squadron game of this caliber.
+MetalJesusRocks, these lists of Wii and GC gems are great! As i don't think you mentioned it yet, i'd like to add (if you could call it hidden?) Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. I've been playing that multiplayer with a friend, two GBASPs and two link cables, and it's been fantastic! Really beautiful graphics, music and characterisation. The gameplay is fun and surprisingly deep, especially for multiplayer, as you have to be quick to heal and resurrect your partner, but also monitor where this vessel of myrrh is so that the evil miasma doesn't harm you.
Hey there--been running through your videos and loving them. You have chops as a host, I like your down-to-earth guests, and your t-shirts are totally metal. Not that I know what that means. Keep it up!
only two gamecube games i couldn't pass the first stage, this ikaruga and f-zero GX. Im getting old man. baten kaitos, killer 7, metroid prime, rogue squadron, are top games on gamecube, worth to buy and play.
Metal Jesus genuinely loves games so listening to him is like experienceimg the games as if they just came out because of the exitement he brings to describing them
None of the games in this video even made it into the Top 100 Best Selling Gamecube list... so while you may have heard of them, very few people bought them and as time goes on... fewer and fewer people know about them. You probably had a Gamecube when it was new.
So cool that you mention the GameBoy Player. I, too, had that thing and loved it. Played the hell out of it, since I don't like the small screens on the portable. Thought it was great. Everything should be transferable to a big screen if desired.
Yes! Capcom vs SNK EO is so good, and you're the first person I've ever seen or heard mention it. Rogue Squadron 2 is also my favorite Star Wars game. It puts you in the best parts of the original trilogy. I know others do to, but this one did it best for me. Plus you unlock the Star Wars arcade game!
One thing that I actually really dug about my wii, back when I had one, was playing Game Cube games such as eternal darkness, Killer 7 and Rogue Squadron 2. I really do miss that thing sometimes. I should get another one for my 4yo son to play one of these days while they are now really cheap.

Fair enough, but the graphic enhancement is barely noticeable. if you compare two in-game images they are basically looking the same. I miss this console era so much: gamecube, ps2, and original xbox, I have so many memories gaming on my own, with friends at their place, their work: game crazy, and the vast amount of titles and series that came out this era that led to hours of gaming late night all the way to the early morning. It was great to enjoy 3 different consoles, and not deal with console wars and biases.
Hate to sound lazy, but if you could please put a list of the games reviewed in the description, that would be sweet and greatly appreciated! I hate having to jog back, to re-watch a segment, because that messes up your excellent presentation flow...
Man... what a holy great video did you made! There are all masterpieces of GameCube, thanks for this little tribute to my favorite console of all time. I need to get that Capcom vs Snk, looks really good but it's really weird to find anywhere. Waiting anxiously the 3rd part!
Where is Baten Kaitos: Origins? That game had everything better than the original, from the characters, gameplay, voice acting and overall story. It also has one of the greatest villains in fictional history, Wiseman. Holy fuck, what a character, and he is the entire reason for everything. I love everything about it and is superior because the origins of it all is amazing. There is heaps of character development is well done, even Sagi (who started off cliche) grew into a very deep character (which is unique in anything Japanese). Also, the symbolism between technology, self-identification and traditions. It leaves it all in all a grey area, that it leaves it open to what is the best route. No matter how great something is, when it's in the wrong hands, it will be nothing short of abused and wronged.
I think the music and gameplay are a little debatable. I personally loved the music in the first one far more with all the amazing boss themes. The second wasn't anything to scoff at of course and I consider this series Motoi Sakuraba's best work by far regardless but I felt the first game managed it's music better. Both gameplay systems work very well and while I do agree that Origins was a little more polished it also changed enough that one could still prefer the combo system of the first one. Plus, dat plot twist. (no spoilers from me!)
As a huge Baten Kaitos fan I heavily disagree, even though Origins was a master piece the characters were empty and bland, the single deck skip card battle system was a joke making the game easy as hell and there wasn't enough focus on close to any secondary characters besides Sagi and even then. Sure it had the awesome plot twist and messed with morality on the highest level but it did not top the original game in any way. Origins had its moments at best.
It was consistent and well written, as well as well acted. The characters actually develop really well, from young and cliche, to relatable and with depth. You see the amazing story behind Malpercio, you know that it was amazing. Wiseman is a very underrated villain, as he isn't even shown. That it was a war, and not just an entity that created such a being. Sir, I have yet to see you finish the game, as it has a great alternative ending if you finish with a great score. You can't tell me BKEWTLO had that, it only brought in characters to put them in your party. They only get enjoyment if you played Origins first, as they are just strangers. In origins, you get to understand who they are and what took them into such a future. We get to see three characters develop really well, they mature and they grow. Sagi no longer sees the world as black and white, and understands the greay. You know Guillo and why it did in the ends, and Milliard who she is and what she's been through. It's a well written series that gives BKEWALO more depth of it's world, it doesn't need filler to make a world interesting. I'm sorry, but I doubt you played the game well or understood the story for it. The Dark Brethren are an ancient entity, older than the world itself, which explains the entire conflict so well. Bein did an amazing job in acting, how could you ignore that? You're giving it too little credit.
So just because my opinion is different than yours it means I didn't 'understand' the story, Get off your high horse please. I don't ignore any of it but I can give you the same length f*cking essay on the first game's story and characters. PLUS the second game looses ALL of its impact if you never played the first one.
ripley4O77 I'm not saying that it's better, I'm saying you're giving it too little credit. In the end it's up to the person, it's all opinion and that's what I'm saying.
Twin snakes brought me so much fun and fond memories of the game cube I liked everything about it from the game itself to the packaging, to the artwork, to playing on that epic, unbeatable iconic GameCube controller
In addition to new texture graphics, Skies of Arcadia Legends had 24 new discoveries, Moonfish, the Angel of Death changes, and all the new Wanted Lists that are only found on the GC version.
Geist is a really good idea. Multiplayer could be great for it. You get everything that person has. Weapons, armor, and items. You get their health gauge.
Milhouse Van Houten I would say the most popular thing on here was probably skies of arcadia. but honestly I don't hear alot of people talk about that to be fair
Because 1) After 15 years they are starting to become forgotten. 2) Gamecube had no advertising like the NES/SNES days, the console & games got slept-on during it's lifespan.
Excellent list! Very glad I found your channel, I was starting to get bored of all the other gamer channels, but yours feels fresh. I have both MGS and MGS:TTS, I do like the updated controls, but what kills me about Twin Snakes is the change in music and other small nuances that kept it from being a classic to me.
As a avid Gamecube man myself (it was my system growing up) can i please say that i think Mario Superstar Baseball is a gem, it's quite rare here in the UK but i love it, also Wario world and finally Soul Calibur 2, though not hidden in any way, it had Link from LOZ which makes it the best by default :) love your channel, Gamer Eats is awesome and inspired my dinner a few nights ago
I find that Rebel Strike : Rogue Squadron III is awesome because it also comes with Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II as well, but with a co-op campaign mode
No it means people don't say eyyy remember star fox 64? man that was great. people skip some like assault so it means more like instead of 1.4 mil sells its like 100k sells with mediocre reviews
Azhrei2000 metal gear solid is a triple A game no matter what version. It is 100 percent NOT a hidden gem. For real nobody knew about it? Nigga please.
Azhrei2000 hidden gem is something not many people know about what you described is a rare game not a hidden gem if a game doesn't sell well it becomes rare if a game gets overshadowed by popular games it becomes a hidden gem
Sorry, but I’m a Metal Gear fan and only found out about Twin Snakes on the GC tonight. So it was a hidden gem for me. I went with the ps1 and ps2 etc versions
I bought both versions of baten kaitos because of this video, and I am a huge jrpg fan, ever since my secret of mana days. Baten kaitos has been the jrpg penicillin shot I have been needing for a long time now. Thank you so much for focusing on the GameCube!
Gamecube Player is awesome. Luckily i was able to buy mine from my cousin for 5 bucks. I don't have many GB games so I haven't really played with it much, but liked it a lot, since it does get kind of tiring trying to look at the little screen of the handhelds. I wish they'd do something similar for the Wii U. Just image playing DS and 3DS games on it, using the gamepad as the touch screen. It'd work great. :)
The DS & 3DS on a big screen ? It would be a dream come true. I'm not a fan of playing on a handheld console since your head is always looking down, it hurt after a while...
giznad138 can you help me with a question. There are 2 versions of game boy player. I was wondering how you knew which was which to buy correct disc there are a USA and Japan version. Any info would be great looking on eBay now 4 disc
Killer 7 eventually came out on the PS2, but it was better on Gamecube. On the Gamecube the game has better controls, much faster loading times, and better graphics. Also they removed a sex scene on the PS2 version, if you are into that sorta thing ;)
Twin snakes is easily my favorite GameCube and it was my first intro into MGS. I watched clips of it on G4 and knew I had to get it. $35 at target the next day and I was so happy with my purchase. Played it for about a year or so everyday
One thing he forgot to mention about the GC version of MGS is that they ruined 90% of the cut scenes with ridiculous action like Snake back flipping onto a flying missile and shooting his stinger missile at Liquid. All the realism and intensity of the story is completely ruined by those ridiculously stupid cutscenes. The game play is definitely improved but if you want to experience one of the best stories in gaming, play the PS1 version for sure. They also re-recorded all the voices which also messes up a lot of the story and original acting.
The new moves and stuff aren't as restricted as the original MGS, but that doesn't mean that it's better. The game's layout was made and perfected to work with the PS1 MGS gameplay, not MGS2 gameplay. It just doesn't feel right.
GameDjeenie I actually play the PS1 version regularly, it's a nearly perfect game and storyline. GC version ruins the story and some of the voice acting.
benbmusic88 The first Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite games of all time, no matter the console. I played through the original PS1 release more than 15 times (all the MGS games are pretty ripe for speedruns when you skip the cutscenes) and when The Twin Snakes version released for GC, I didn't like the new voice recordings at all (especially Mei Ling, she went from super cute Chinese girl with an accent to speaking plain English with none of that personality behind it). But the more times I've played through it over the years (more than 5 times for sure) the more I've started to prefer it over the original version. The controls are so much smoother, being able to fire weapons in first person is a dream, and overall it's just an amazingly crafted remake. Sure, some of the new action stuff is ridiculous, but I LOVE ridiculous action and it fits in perfectly with the rest of the MGS games which are chock-full on nonsensical insanity.
Robert Martin I agree the gameplay is WAY better but the story and dialog are too important for me. If I'm skipping cutscenes than I'll probably pick the GC version for sure but if I wanna enjoy the epic story, PS1 is the definitive version for me. Always good to talk to a fellow MGS1 fan, also my favorite of all time. One part that was hilariously bad in the GC version is Nastasha. All of a sudden she's got an American accent LOL.
That card-based combat system of Baten Kaitos ruined it for me... Why not a traditional turn-based or Action-RPG like the Tales of series ?? I didn't understand shit and I just gave up. Shame since this game is really beautiful...
I like the card system, and the fact some of the cards aged and turned into different things. But, to each his own. Had a GREAT ost...but horrid voice recording.
Dude, you just nailed it this time. All those great games, and the Gameboy Player? Sweetness. Personally, I LOVED the Resident Evil remake on Gamecube, so damn good, and Resident Evil Zero wasn't bad either.
I ABSOLUTELY agree with everything you said about Rogue Squadron!! The Rogue Squadron series is hands down my favorite collection of Star Wars games closely followed by the Super Nintendo trilogy!
Not everybody who discovers a console and starts collecting for it, does it at the same time. Also, I make my videos for all regions, since only half my traffic comes from N. America and not every game is marketed the same world wide (or even available)
As soon as you said "Every GameCube owner should have the GameBoy attachment," I started rolling around on my floor shouting (while stretching my arms and legs) "You're right, Metal Jesus! You're right! I need one!".
Ebay here i come! - Just picked up Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. Looks like fun, thanks for the ideas! I've been expanding/re-accumulating my GC collection! Still love playing it even in 2016.
Killer 7 exists on PS2 also. Ikaruga japanese version was released on Dreamcast. and I agree with you on Rogue Squadron, it's an awesome tale on Star Wars universe, I love them.
Amazing! Funny thing, most of the games are also some of my Gamecube favorite. Skies of Arcadia and Baten Kaitos are awesome! And Ikaruga I'm now playing the Steam version. Cheers!
Great video. One correction, however. Even though they sound somewhat different, the cast of MGS: The Twin Snakes is actually the same cast in the Playstation version. Most of the cast simply used different pseudonyms. Cam Clarke = James Flinders = Liquid Snake Debi Mae West = Mae Zadler = Meryl Jennifer Hale = Carren Learning = Naomi Christopher Fritz = Christopher Randolph = Otacon Paul Otis = Paul Eiding = Roy Campbell Kim Mai Guest = Kim Nguyen = Mei Ling Renee Raudman = Renne Collette = Nastasha Patric Laine = Patric Zimmerman = Revolver Ocelot Peter Lurie = Chuck Farley = Vulcan Raven Doug Stone = Doug Stone = Psycho Mantis Tasia Valenza = Julie Monroe = Sniper Wolf Greg Eagles = George Byrd = Donald Anderson The only new addition was Rob Paulsen who voiced Grey Fox, who was originally voiced by Greg Eagles/George Byrd.
my son has just gotten into donkey kong jungle beat and zelda windwaker..the graphics/gameplay and the console altogether, although it was left to the wayside at the time, are a real pinnacle for me..a really great machine with some absolutely great games
Finally Skies of Arkadia is getting the appreciation it deserves, it is an amazing game! when i first played it i had no idea what i was doing or what to do so i always got stuck but it always had that i still wanna try and beat you factor... then a few years later i was ill and decided to restart my file... and boy was it a good choice, i think that game took far more hours of my life than it should have!
Hi Metal Jesus and Reggie. Great one again! My son and I where playing Gauntlet Dark Legacy yesterday. I can recommend that because it is a great multi player Hack and slash role-playing game. \m/
I am SO glad you mentioned the Gameboy player! It was the chief reason I got a Gamecube over the Dreamcast (though I own one of those too now). Dawn of Souls aside, I prefer the GBA remakes of the Final Fantasy series (though I prefer the Origins port for both 1&2). Now if Nintendo would only make a 3DS player for the Wii U...
Killer 7 is one of my favourite hidden gems on GameCube, me and my brother would be creeped out by this game but would still play it for some reason idk why but we liked it, it’s never too late to comment 👍
Man, I need to play that Street Fighter game! I've never been able to learn the combos in Street Fighter II, so that would be the ideal version for me! Awesome video as always!
Another way the Skies of Arcadia series lived on is through Sega's SRPG Valkyria Chronicles. Two of the characters you can recruit are Vyse Inglebard and Aika Thompson (naturally they get squadmate affection bonuses). Kinda cool to see. If I remember right, Vyse is an assault trooper and Aika is a scout (and both have better than average stats).
So glad you mentioned star wars rouge squadron. They are by far the best star wars games on consoles and its the only reason i own a gamecube. Squadron II, III, bounty hunter, attack of the clones, awesome star wars games. Trying to get my hands on Jedi outcast which I've found relatively cheap. Contemplating wether to buy that or spend the extra money for star fox instead.
Excellent video! However, the voice work for the MGS: The Twin Snakes is actually done by the voice cast of the original game, the only character who is a different is the Cyborg Ninja. According to David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake, everything was rerecorded due to the fact the original game's audio was recorded in a makeshift studio in an apartment, not a soundproof room, and the better sound hardware of the Gamecube allowed you to hear the traffic noise that was picked up because of this.
Good to see Baten Kaitos on the list, if there ever is a part 3 to this video series, put Baten Kaitos Origins, the even better sequel/prequel to Baten Kaitos.
WOW!!! Lone Survivor looks like it's gonna be GREAT!!! Man M.J. inbetween Lost Kingdoms and Baten Kaitos....I can't wait to start hunting these! The GameBoy Player is a MUST for any collector!!! A MUST!!! Also plays GBA!!! Thanks Again M.J.!!! Awesome part 2!!!
I like listening to this channel because it's generally upbeat and pleasant. So many game review videos now are very complainy. It's a refreshing change. Brings back the joy in video games.
You sum it up perfectly!
chameleonquest well said
totally agree, complaining is a recreational activity for a lot of gamers online.
that's the charm of the metal jesus, he loves a lot of games, the game has to be absolute garbage to hear him say it's bad.
Well said dude
The Slayer shirt was released to commemorate the date of June 6, 2006, or International Day of Slayer. The official shirt was limited to 666 copies, and I happened to snag one. ROCK! \m/

The fuck? Geist seems like an incredibly creative and original shooter.
Guess that's why it failed.
He called it the "thinking man's shooter" but the problem is that 1)No one over the age of 12 originally got the gamecube and 2)People who play shooters don't think very much. Most people probably thought it was too hard or to slow.
theacp127
It's a shame isn't it!
theacp127 I had the gamecube since I was 5.
+Archon Southpaw it's basically mindjack but on the gamecube
+Zukapunchanimation same
So happy you mentioned Baten Kaitos, Geist, and Skies of Arcadia. ^^ Love those games. Baten Kaitos is my favorite JRPG of all time.
And to think, the same company is also making Project X for the Wii U.
I prefer Baten Kaitos Origins over Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean.
I love both equally. It's really hard for me to pick one over the other lol they're such great games. And YES I can't wait for X. One of the biggest reasons I've bought a Wii U xD

I'm still clinging onto hope for a possible BK3 if it ever comes out lol. I think it would look amazing in HD on the Wii U
Same here. I remember seeing a screenshot of what looked like Diadem on a developer's computer and it sparked a rumor that they were working on the third game. Could have been a hoax but even if it wasn't I doubt anything came of it. I remain hopeful.

Geist is an amazing game. One of the first games I played on GC and definitely a favorite!
Hemlock Fury i thought the main character was a soldier. Or was he a scientist?
@@TheVamxie I think he's a scientist.
The Geist mechanic is a lot like beyond two souls
Capcom Vs SNK 2 is one of the best fighting games looks good and the soundtrack was amazing.
Imo Killer7 is much better. BK is a good rpg but the pacing story and combat are just ok. K7 is amazing.
used to call it baiten cardos in college. i never like a card battle system over a traditional turn based RPG
I always find myself watching these older videos, and re-watching them because they're so good! And great shirt, SLAYER!
Baten Kaitos
I absolutely love Rogue Leader. Rebel Strike was okay, but the fact that it had all of Rogue Leader available for co-op made it worthwhile in my opinion. It's sad that both Lucasarts AND Factor 5 are gone now, so we'll probably never get another Rogue Squadron game of this caliber.
The Hoth level in Star Wars Rouge Leader is quite possibly the most beautiful level ever created on any game on any console. Fact.
I'm so glad you mentioned Baten Kaitos! BK 1, 2, and Twilight Princess are probably my favorites. And I have almost every Gamecube game
Geist was a complete gem for sure I loved that game as a kid
+MetalJesusRocks, these lists of Wii and GC gems are great! As i don't think you mentioned it yet, i'd like to add (if you could call it hidden?) Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. Alex Smith Thanks Alex! I appreciate the feedback :)
MetalJesusRocks megaman command mission. hidden gem. my favorite megaman game of all time!
The Battle of Endor level is one of my favorites levels of all time, in a game. Great video MJ.
only two gamecube games i couldn't pass the first stage, this ikaruga and f-zero GX. Im getting old man. baten kaitos, killer 7, metroid prime, rogue squadron, are top games on gamecube, worth to buy and play.
So many great MJR videos! Love going through and finding these videos!
killer7! best game ever made.
Hell ya
Metal Jesus genuinely loves games so listening to him is like experienceimg the games as if they just came out because of the exitement he brings to describing them

I was definitely glad to see Killer 7 on here. One of my favorite games of all time.

Skies of Arcadia on NGC is not a remake, it's simply a port with some additional content. The graphics are exactly the same as the DC version.
Came here to say this. If I'm not mistaken that 'additional content' was on Dreamcast as DLC, if I recall. Also, the DC had superior audio.
On December 26, 2002, an enhanced port, Skies of Arcadia Legends was released in Japan for the GameCube. It was subsequently released in North America on January 27, 2003, and in Europe on May 23, 2003. Legends features slightly enhanced graphics, shorter loading times and some additional content. NVM, just read it. Hum. I wonder what the new scenes are.
There's a bit more about Vyse's backstory in Legends as being one of them.
Carson B Wagner that way ppl would not see the vid
Man... what a holy great video did you made!
Beach Strikers the volleyball game was very good.
In addition to new texture graphics, Skies of Arcadia Legends had 24 new discoveries, Moonfish, the Angel of Death changes, and all the new Wanted Lists that are only found on the GC version.
Baten Kaitos for me is the best Gamecube game ever
Gamecenter *Best game ever.
Geist is a really good idea. Multiplayer could be great for it. You get everything that person has. Weapons, armor, and items. You get their health gauge.
So some of the most critically acclaimed and popular Gamecube titles are hidden gems now
Milhouse Van Houten I would say the most popular thing on here was probably skies of arcadia. but honestly I don't hear alot of people talk about that to be fair
Because 1) After 15 years they are starting to become forgotten. 2) Gamecube had no advertising like the NES/SNES days, the console & games got slept-on during it's lifespan.
Right? I'm curious how METAL GEAR SOLID is a "hidden gem" lol. Great game though.
Goldeneye Rogue Agent has a pretty great multiplayer mode, full-on ragdoll physics and interactive map elements like traps. Really fun.
You can't talk about gems on the game cube without talking about eternal darkness...
I love Game Boy Player.
As a avid Gamecube man myself (it was my system growing up) can i please say that i think Mario Superstar Baseball is a gem, it's quite rare here in the UK but i love it, also Wario world and finally Soul Calibur 2, though not hidden in any way, it had Link from LOZ which makes it the best by default :) love your channel, Gamer Eats is awesome and inspired my dinner a few nights ago
the way you held the gamecube disc hurt me
I find that Rebel Strike : Rogue Squadron III is awesome because it also comes with Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II as well, but with a co-op campaign mode
I'm not sure we're understanding the meaning of "hidden gem."
Ikaruga and Metal Gear Solid, for example.
seriously..... hidden gems..... HIDDEN.... as in didnt' sell cause no one knew about it.
No it means people don't say eyyy remember star fox 64? man that was great. people skip some like assault
so it means more like instead of 1.4 mil sells its like 100k sells with mediocre reviews
GameDjeenie same question if you can help
Killer 7 eventually came out on the PS2, but it was better on Gamecube. On the Gamecube the game has better controls, much faster loading times, and better graphics. Also they removed a sex scene on the PS2 version, if you are into that sorta thing ;)
Since when is MGS a hidden gem?
Since it didn't even sold half a million copies
Twin Snakes was since not everyone had a Gamecube who liked MGS.
Your eyes will die or at least cry blood if you play the PS1 version today...
GameDjeenie
I actually play the PS1 version regularly, it's a nearly perfect game and storyline.
Star Wars Rogue Leader was my game of choice when I bought my Gamecube on launch day. I blow me away!
That card-based combat system of Baten Kaitos ruined it for me... Why not a traditional turn-based or Action-RPG like the Tales of series ?? I didn't understand shit and I just gave up. Shame since this game is really beautiful...
Top 10 games of all time for me
I like the card system, and the fact some of the cards aged and turned into different things.
WHERE. IS. TALES OF SYMPHONIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, I had to have played through that game at least 5 times and got a different ending almost every single one.
Dominique Dorsinville actually that's if you choose Kratos, you get a different ending.
Yeah Tales is defintley a gem for that system but the RPG's he mentions are even more less known.
I don't think it's a hidden gem it's kind of just a gem.
Tommy thekeyblademaster Actually, Baten Kaitos is more well-known
I ABSOLUTELY agree with everything you said about Rogue Squadron!! The Rogue Squadron series is hands down my favorite collection of Star Wars games closely followed by the Super Nintendo trilogy!
Not everybody who discovers a console and starts collecting for it, does it at the same time. Also, I make my videos for all regions, since only half my traffic comes from N. America and not every game is marketed the same world wide (or even available)
I've got Baten Kaitos, it's a good fun game.
Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3 features 3 characters from Skies Of Arcadia. You can get Vyse and Aika as playable characters, and Fina as a medic.
As soon as you said "Every GameCube owner should have the GameBoy attachment," I started rolling around on my floor shouting (while stretching my arms and legs) "You're right, Metal Jesus! You're right! I need one!".
1:15 YEEES! I cheered in the last video when you named Eternal Darkness, but I was disappointed that this wasn't here. I freaking loved this game.
i'm happy that after watching these 2 videos i recognize most of these games and even own some of them like ED, Geist and MGSTTS
Your editing is getting a lot better i think, keep it up!
Cheers!
Geist was great! I loved that game.
Geist was a great multiplayer experience.
I remember playing almost every weekend with friends.(many years ago)
The Gameboy player is a must have! Big thumbs up to this series!
Great video. One correction, however. Even though they sound somewhat different, the cast of MGS: The Twin Snakes is actually the same cast in the Playstation version. Most of the cast simply used different pseudonyms.
Cam Clarke = James Flinders = Liquid Snake
Debi Mae West = Mae Zadler = Meryl
Jennifer Hale = Carren Learning = Naomi
Christopher Fritz = Christopher Randolph = Otacon
Paul Otis = Paul Eiding = Roy Campbell
Kim Mai Guest = Kim Nguyen = Mei Ling
Renee Raudman = Renne Collette = Nastasha
Patric Laine = Patric Zimmerman = Revolver Ocelot
Peter Lurie = Chuck Farley = Vulcan Raven
Doug Stone = Doug Stone = Psycho Mantis
Tasia Valenza = Julie Monroe = Sniper Wolf
Greg Eagles = George Byrd = Donald Anderson
The only new addition was Rob Paulsen who voiced Grey Fox, who was originally voiced by Greg Eagles/George Byrd.
Baten Kaitos Origins is one of my favorite RPGs. Really improved over the first one, which was great itself. Over-looked, in my opinion.
That background is being rendered on my original Commodore 64 baby!
Killer 7 is very underrated and an love or hate kind of game. It's one of my favorites in therms of story and style, totally badass!
I absolutely loved the Rogue Squadron series.
Geist is my personal favourite Gamecube game.
Glad you like it too :3
my son has just gotten into donkey kong jungle beat and zelda windwaker..the graphics/gameplay and the console altogether, although it was left to the wayside at the time, are a real pinnacle for me..a really great machine with some absolutely great games
Thank you so much for making these. They REALLY help me find new games for my large collection. Hope to see part 3 soon!
Twin Snakes sold terribly on the GC, so I believe it belongs here. I didn't even make the Top 100 best selling GC games!
Awesome video - That RPG Baten Kaitos seems like one of those working buying a console for. It looks like Final Fantasy 10 meets Magic the Gathering!
I love this! Gives me more video games to play for a cheaper price! Great videos by the way!
Now I need to get that gameboy attachment. Very nice.
These are such helpful videos. Especially for people like me who just picked up a Gamecube. My games to get for it is like a page long...
Excellent video! However, the voice work for the MGS: The Twin Snakes is actually done by the voice cast of the original game, the only character who is a different is the Cyborg Ninja. According to David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake, everything was rerecorded due to the fact the original game's audio was recorded in a makeshift studio in an apartment, not a soundproof room, and the better sound hardware of the Gamecube allowed you to hear the traffic noise that was picked up because of this.
okay I have to say this. being a metalhead myself, I love that slayer shirt. heck I love just about every band shirt he wears.
Good to see Baten Kaitos on the list, if there ever is a part 3 to this video series, put Baten Kaitos Origins, the even better sequel/prequel to Baten Kaitos.
Beaten Kaitos 👌
Nice pick
I couldn't agree more about the GBA adapter... it's a must-have for the GameCube!
Finally, someone that's into Rogue Leader! I love Rebel Strike too. (:
