+HseOChin Nowhere near the most beautiful, are they. I agree. If one wants to see actual beauty and elegance, then they should take a tour of the Biltmore House, or some of the other old Mansions from the late 1800s, and early 1900s. Architects these days do not know what beauty is.

I'm pretty certain the video maker is covering what they believe are some of the most beautiful contemporary homes. The build cost for these examples would be in the range of $2,000,000-10,000,000.
The Bilmore House when built cost around $10,000,000 in todays money, but to build it today with current technology and labour is estimated at over $300,000,000. On top of that, the materials and craftsmanship are largely unavailable today, very few clients would want to pay for a house like that, and it would not be code compliant in that form. So one can hardly make any fair comparison, any more than . Architects do the best they can to meet the needs of a client, with available funds, materials, skilled trades, and within code requirements. Personally, I would rather save my $300M for a downpayment on Antilia, Mumbai (sited in a more suitable location of course), than one of these museum pieces... but to each, his own.

While some of these homes are ok (i.e actually have some natural plants around them) most are grey and white boxes with glass in the middle. I think it should be called 'The Most Modernist Pretentious Houses in the World'. Who would want all those windows? No privacy, heat escapes, when hot it feels like a greenhouse and imagine having to have them all cleaned! It's clear which kind of clientele the company is trying to attract here. The most beautiful houses are often the oldest or most in harmony with nature. Maybe the makers of this video never saw any beautiful really old houses and maybe they don't have any nature still living in their area perhaps? If so you ain't lived nor seen anything truly beautiful people!

These houses are so simplistic it can almost come to the point where even i can construct it myself. What i will do is find 10 large steel metal beams, lots of concrete, slabs of glass, maybe a toilet, a hose for water and a large open space like in the desert somewhere. Ill start when nobody is around. Start constructing a giant glass cube and at the corner place the toilet and viola! Glass cube in the desert. Then sell it for 2.2 million dollars

Life is so unfair to think that many rich people live these types of lifestyles compared to average people who have to bust there ass working just to barely make ends meet and never be able to afford anything like this is so unfair we all are equal and we all deserve a beautiful luxury life while we are alive on Earth.

No! Not everyone deserves this type of lifestyle. Those who work hard AND smart (not hard only) are the ones that get to enjoy this life. Not everyone.
You can grab a random average person and hand them a house like these or even $1M. Chances are, they will eventually go from riches back to rags.

To me the most beautiful house in the world is my 2 bedrooms condominium where my wife my 5years old boy and I 😃enjoy every square inch of it every day, and is only 10 miles away from washinton dc the most beautiful and extremely powerful city in the world.
There's nothing wrong with this house, but often millionaires are hateful greedy drugs addicted prisoners in their own giant mansions unhappy people.

Obviously very big, and for rich people. Budget was not a problem, the problem was the display of wealth and architects' "originality"(?) plus the work of interior designers while the owners don't even leave a little sign of their own participation. That is not really good taste. The houses are not homely, they are purely glass, metal and concrete (expensive, of course). They don't even seem to be enviromentally friendly the amount of artificial lights is just an example,

galaxy Still a little to modern design although it does incarcerate some nature in the design, the rest other than the one at 2.15 are all to ostentatious for my personal taste .

    • @wazzobazzo

Carl Hawker QFT housebuilding is not what it was. Arcitechture inspired by Picasso and to live among all those windows you'd have to be an exhibitionist willing to show your junk.
The one at 1:56 looks snazzy with the grass though I must admit...though the upkeep required to keep a garden healthy and not overgrown on the roof is probably seriously annoying.
Sans the one in Aspen all of them seem to be located in tropical looking climates too which influences my opinion. Melting in year round +40 isn't my idea of "living the dream":P

I don't love them not by jealousy, but by the fact that there is no variety in the design. Personally, I prefer victorian or edwardian mansions. The new ones are alright, but minimalist deco isn't my style. That being said, I expect to see porn stars on these porches wandering around in white robes in between scenes in these houses.

While I agree with you and Sophie 420 regarding the coldness of these homes, I can still appreciate the flooding of light that these homes present as well as the fact that you can enjoy the view with glass walls rather than drywall.

      No, that's a petrol station in a forest. It's a LOLLER'S house.

    • @GalacticGuru42
      @GalacticGuru42 7 ปีที่แล้ว

That is a reinterpretation of one of the most iconic 20th Century American home, the Farnsworth House: farnsworthhouse.org The design of the building is essentially functional, (which as several people mentioned it has in common with a petrol station), so it has no visible walls, all you see is the garden/forest around the house and the built form disappears, esp. from the inside view. You have zero privacy in a house like that, so siting is everything. And the original was very problematic because of the amount of glazing making the building very cold in winter and hot in summer, but today glazing has improved immensely though so has the cost.

High aesthetic look, more natural ventilation to allow air flow from the outside into the building & intelligent landscape designer. Not to mention its interior & exterior refurbishment. Fantastic

Interesting choices. One thing I noticed is that they're predominantly designed with straight vertical and horizontal lines giving them that structured, almost stoic look, which may easily be viewed as unemotional and detached.

These houses are FABULOUS!!! I've seen better ones than these with this type of modern architectural style though. Don't judge a book by its cover. It might be very comfortable and more private inside these homes - that's why they're located in private, sanctuary areas. Take a look at LADY GAGA - POKER FACE VIDEO. Her house there is the bomb!
