I am Enrique (Kiko) from Puerto Rico. Thank you for explaining everything. I have trouble seeing color without special glasses which were broken. You saying the color helps me out. Lavender calms me. I suffer from anxiety and it truly helps. I agree that kids are the most important. My kids may do some things incorrectly when trying to help but it’s nothing I can’t fix.
Hi Enrique! Thank you for watching. I am glad my video was helpful for you. I find that gardening helps lessen my anxiety. It is a very peaceful hobby to have :) ....unless the squash bugs are attacking haha -Cara
I love your videos!!! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is looking amazing!!!! It's all growing really good. I hope you get more food than y'all even need!
For the beetles you might try pantyhose, you can leave them until harvest. My neighbor does it to his apples for worms, but it works for all types of bugs. I know you want to be hands-off, but it's a way to ensure you get a few uneaten ones.
Your garden looks so nice! I had the chance to go to the US and tried the ground berries! In my opinion, the texture was of cherry tomatoes and the taste was of pitanga (Surinam or Brazilian cherry) that I ate in my childhood. I chose the big one, should have tried the smaller ones! They were interesting! I like to watch your videos, even though I don’t have a garden and some plants don’t grow here in Japan.
That was a beautiful garden tour. Your gardens and flower beds are doing so well! Things are really popping! Hopefully, your peas will take off soon. Mine looks almost ready to flower! I hope you have a wonderful week! 💖💖💖
Absolutely stunning and blessed Cara Ryan and family 🙏, I remember the first bed going in and you have definitely exceeded any expectations. Have a marvellous week, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦
Last year the Japanese beetles destroyed my whole garden. I haven’t had the energy to deal with them but have gotten some in a bucket for the chickens. I finally decided to try a trap, put it out yesterday and it’s filling fast. I’d rather just empty and refill traps for a couple months then spend hours picking them off plants.
Cara, is your hydrangea plant by the house facing north? That's my favorite. Well, it's a tie between hydrangeas and iris's. But here in Oklahoma hydrangea only do good if they are facing north.
Cara, your garden is definitely a beautiful kitchen/potager garden! There’s a surprise in every bed! Love it! I’m currently editing my video of my kitchen/potager garden which is much smaller than yours. Thanks for sharing all the beauty and goodness with us!
I love the garden. I am curious about the flowers. I have read where certain flowers can attract or repel undesirable insects, depending what you plant. The trouble is that's all from the internet, and it's hard to know your trusted sources. Do you plant flowers for beauty or function? And if there is a function, is that something you would be willing to discuss? Thank you in advance.
Are you aware that sunflowers are allelopathic? That is, they produce exudates from the roots that inhibit other plants, ss a mechanism to avoid competition from other plants. So, it's best to keep them to one bed or part of the garden, rather than incorporate them in your rotations. Apparently the allelopathy is not just with other species, but can affect the germination and growth of subsequent sunflower plants. I have certainly seen the effects in some of our garden. Just something to factor in to your garden planting decisions. 🍅🍓🍒
How interesting! I did not know that, thank you for sharing with me. I have not noticed a difference in the healthy of my other plants this year, but I will be experimenting with plant placement in the future. -Cara
Hi Cora I really love your videos! No hate but the background music is a little “triggering “ by triggering I mean it’s kinda annoying and I just wanted to say maybe consider changing it? But again, no hate, no offense. I love your videos ❤
I appreciate the honest feedback 😊 thank you for the suggestion I will see what other music I can find. It is hard because of copyright, there aren’t many options out there for free that youtube allows 🙃

I would say your weed is called Medicago sativa in Latin.
Ohh thank you!!
What are the pros and cons to choosing to grow either Dahlia’s or zinnia’s in your opinion?

We are in Zone 7 in Virginia in USA
I am thankful to live where we do 💚
@@bluebirdhomestead hope you the best 🥰
