I believe the reason that Fire Fang worked on Wonder Guard was that the devs accidentally classified it as a status move, so Wonder Guard didn’t check whether it should be blocked. Shedinja was weak to Fire anyway, so they never noticed the error.
I heard it was because they have special coding for two-turn moves that makes it so the first, harmless, turn is not stopped by Wonder Guard but the actual attack is, and they applied this to all the two-turn attacks individually, and misclicked on Fire Fang when they did.

Something interesting about this trick is that Diamond and Pearl were actually the first debut games of a generation that could NOT actually be played on a TV. Gen 1 has Stadium 1, Gen 2 has Stadium 2, Gen 3 has Pokémon Box, and all of them have the GameCube GameBoy Player. This is actually our first crack at big-screen Sinnoh gameplay, so it’s interesting to see that get reversed.
Wasn’t there Pokemon revelation for the Wii?

@@KonaSuba Ah I gotcha, there's plenty of cool hunts you can go for then! If you have Let's Go the catch combos are a good method for starting out with shiny hunting, but if you plan on doing full odds hunting then there are a lot of possibilities.
If there's a shiny you really like a lot that you can find easily in any of your games, I'd say start with that one :) best of luck!
to be fair, there is a lot of grinding, but the reward is always worth it.

Good show! Today I beat the Champion too. My Shiny Steelix' Gyro Ball finished her Garchomp off, and he's MVP too. I beat her with my Platinum Nostalgia Team in Shiny Form too. They were all over level 80 though. I made a meme out of my teams from Platinum and BD.

Holy crap, when you go in on the nostalgia, you go all the freaking way! That was so unbelievably, unnecessarily extra, and I _love_ it! What a ride from start to finish, just a shame Charap couldn't do more. But SNOWRUNT came through like an absolute boss! Actually surprised you didn't outfit it with Ice Fang or something- real physical wall like that seems like the ideal candidate to consider for taking on Cynthia's Garchomp.

I don't have any of my old teams intact but I remember a never-completed Platinum team, and maybe someday I'll recreate my (recent) Black 2, X, and Moon teams all shiny.

Cynthia would’ve won if no revive was used. While I don’t personally use them in trainer battles, I think we all did back in the day, so it’s fitting for the nostalgia team if you use nostalgia tactics.
