How long is it going to take to get rid of the need for unpleasant noises before one can enjoy a car? Back in the 50's, the cars with the biggest engines were also the quietest, which was really great. I am happy that my EV, modest in performance as it is, was made before the little bit of noise was mandated to warn pedestrians. I enjoy it the most with the windows open in parking garages, where every tire scrch is audible. Anyway, the end of the ICE age is upon us, like it or not.

I weep for the future in terms of cars. EV's are boring and they will all be the same essentially. No fun things to mod in the engine bay, etc. People are so focused on becoming lazy (think WALL-E) with all the automation and advancements. I'll hold onto my gas and diesels as long as possible :)

Why would anyone get that RSQ8 at over 500 lbs heavier than the RS6 and WAY less pretty?!? I just don’t get it!!

I live in south Africa and I have to say electric in 15 year is a deep pipe dream, we just discovered building and tuning, well we've been in it for a while but accessibility is only growing now. And our electricity infrastructure is terrible. Importing a Tesla here costs as much as two of those Audis or the cost of a Lamborghini Urus and some change so no

gas cars will always be, you can keep them money pit Audi and electric cars, this country power grid will never have the power to support electric cars on a mass scale, qatrillions of dollars would be needed, and coal still our friend, fracking WAS making energy affordable, oil is life and always will be

Alex, I have a garage with 15 vintage motorcycles, all two stroke, manufactured from the early 60's to the mid 00's. No way in hell I will ever give up riding these things - and you should have the same attitude with your ICE four wheel cages ("biker slang" for automobiles). Sure I just bought a hybrid Avalon - because it was a bargain, not because I'm a tree hugger - it is something my 89 yo mother will enjoy driving.
I'm not yet at the point of pulling the trigger on a '15-16 e63S AMG, but I hope to be soon (your influence has a lot to do with this). Performance will always be a requirement. Heck, my 25 year old Explorer (w/ 500K mi) has a FoMoCo performance header and Borla exhaust - because I could. No one can stop me.
Time for you to move away from Chi town. Outside of LA/CA, Chicago/IL is probably the worst place to live in regard to rules and regulations controlling/ruining your life. At least move to IN and commute in ... once you taste a bit of more freedom than you have now, you will understand.
And yes, more updates on the SL65 please. Thanks for all you do, and I truly hope you have an awesome week!

You take a look at what happened in Texas a few weeks ago and I highly doubt everyone will be driving electric. What will probably happen is us, the wage slaves will be driving electric and monitored/tracked/surveilled/charged per mile (for our safety) and the monied class will be driving ICE’s
I drive a Mercedes now, but my 1st love was Audi. I had a ‘00 S4 6 speed and back then it was a blast after some tuning. This RS is insane and man I’d take one!!
Keep up the awesome work Alex love your channel!!!

I think ICE's will still be here in 10 years, not only do I really want to see that Koenigsegg 3 cylinder 600hp motor take off, I also don't think we have the infrastructure in place yet for electric and won't in only 10 years time. If that's not in place, people won't buy EV's, even if manufacturers try jamming them down people's throats. At least, in the US and IMO. Personally, I don't even want an electric car.

In 15 years there will be ICE beaters on the road still, and legendary ICE cars will be like your dads 60s 70s muscle cars, garage queens, take them out on the weekend -- why not also? You enjoy them more that way, they become more special, but there is 0 chance that electrification won't fully take over, it makes sense, they're better in every way other than the "soul". The "soul" should be experienced when you have time to enjoy it on the weekends. Also, it will be funny to see our kids reaction to daddy's stick shift Hellcat in the garage, like will they care? I think maybe but I don't know it will be as impactful as living during the ICE era.

I can see cars running on hydrogen before I see all electric. In which case, the engines would stay the same, except they would now run on bomb material instead of gasoline and would have zero pollution. They're already doing it with Semi-trucks. Electric battery driven trucks will never be feasible no matter what Elon Musk says. Power to weight ratio says all you need to know, batteries, no batteries will ever work. Not a chance, they're just too heavy for what they give you. It's as simple as that. Hydrogen cells, yes. Hydrogen is one of the most volatile substances known to man. To replace all the cars with electricity; that electricity has to come from somewhere and we're back to the grid again. If your car takes a 220 feed all night to charge it, you're better off with gasoline because that is a hell of a lot of electricity. And there is no plan to make that even possible. There's no plan to make a plan.
I would think a hydrogen infrastructure for filling stations would be a lot cheaper than building out the entire country's electrical grid which was built in the 1950's. It would cost 10's of trillions of dollars to do that. The country doesn't have that kind of money and the left is staring at some imaginary grid that doesn't even exist. They have no answers and no money. They'd rather pay for sex change operations instead, just ask them. The grid would have to double in size and so would the amount of generating stations. And what will they run on? If not nuclear, than don't bother. Filling stations would just have to retrofit to add hydrogen pumps and that's it. They did it with E85, they can do it with hydrogen. I think the pumps themselves would need very little retrofitting. And the power required to make hydrogen can be localized. Not spread out across the entire grid.

Congrats!!! No plastic piece broke off from that thing making it immobile. They don't know how to make brittle-proof plastics for cold climate. And for a few cents worth plastic, you are gifted with a massive leak. And you need to tear the entire engine apart frequently to perform the repair works. Give it some time and it will become an endless money pit. The worst reliable car brand. Meh.

When I worked at Great America in the mid-80's (Probably about the time you were born), I would go into the park at off hours with our free pass and ride The Tidal Wave from the first car over and over again. Yeah, you had the loop, but I was in it for the acceleration. What I loved was that I didn't have to go through all the rest of a roller coaster. It was accelerate hard, hit the loop, go backwards and come to a stop. It took very little time, so I could do the acceleration over and over in a little bit of time. I don't even remember what the performance was now, but this was the 80's and no car I was in could touch that acceleration. Here's the same coaster at a different park. th-cam.com/video/7b18tCPmwgQ/w-d-xo.html
