She disclosed that they’d be at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. I wonder how many folks were there waiting for them. I’ve seen several of her interviews. Seems like a wonderful lady and a typical mother-one who loves her child no matter what. And it’s Boy George, after all, what’s there not to love?
She seems like a sweet, shy and lovely person and I'm sure Dave felt that. He appeared very courteous and kind. She's not at all a show business or business type and therefore to be treated with some modicum of respect. Dave had an inverted attitude to that, which is I think, correct. He seemed to value the salt of the earth. The humble, regular people were the only real normal ones. Entertainers were the afflicted egos needing deflating.

@@thenightporter fortunately haven’t seen her since the late eighties. They are so self absorbed they don’t realise that people are watching for the guest who is the real talent. I’m watching Frank Skinner interview George now. He’s a British comedian and he gives his guests space.

Not sure why everyone is saying that she is ‘just like George’. She has a totally different energy and temperament- calm, composed and gracious. George has mellowed a little over the years now he is approaching old age (at least in public), but back then he was a sullen, quick tempered vindictive brat. I’m not denying he had star quality and was often delicious in his wit and snark, but he was often just vile.

Haha everyone does age but she really does love him and she supported him from a young age like any mum would do for there kids my own mum had 7of us she was my rock miss her so much but she helped me through a lot and not only that she was also there for her grandchildren to miss her and love her so much

An unusual fellow?? What closed minded people back then.
For that time, Dave was being exceedingly open minded and tolerant. Nobody thought transgender identity was “normal” then. For him to even discuss it, to call Boy George unusual is quite accurate, and not insulting. Dave was great.
