In the book it talks about the numbers of worms it takes to cross the desert. My guess they either ride up to the rocks and stop or ride to exhaustion.
My guess would be to use a some sort of stylized desert parachute to get off the sandworm. No clue where you’d land but I’d think the momentum of the sandworm would be enough to launch yourself up and off
All I wanna know about this movie is will we see a what a guild navigator looks like i’m hoping, but I think not even through the last two dune films they actually showed one. Neither one was good the one in 1984 and 2000
My bet is they throw/place a rope/cable behind where they are standing and swing off the worm, that way they are moving in the opposite direction and are closer to standing still relative to the ground
Typically they wait for the worm to become tired. Then it becomes dosile and they can kinda just...walk off. If they have to go off at full speed they start by progressively moving further to the back of the worm and then jump off from near the back.
@@misterwashburn It's been a long time since I've read the books, is that the official version? Either way it sounds like Denis had something more interesting in mind lol
That was one of my big questions when I went into seeing the film, how are they going to handle Alia. The only way to fully portray her would have to be an all CGI character. It’s asking far too much to get a 2yo girl to behave like both an old woman and a toddler. A defining characteristic of Alia is her “strangeness”. While easily enough to imagine in a novel, on screen it’s a huge risk of coming off as ridiculous. It was a safer creative choice, what they settled on.
@@jrudge So have you seen it, and what did you think. I haven't yet, but I will. I love the book and I enjoy different interpretations of the story. I enjoyed the movie "I Robot" even through it strayed a long long way from the book. 🙂
I think they really stuck the landing, and successfully delivered the books core message. I’ve read Book 1 at least 15 times, safe to say that I’m a fan. It was bigger, richer, and more visually pleasing than the first half. It’s always hard to accept changes from the source material, but like in the first half, it’s mostly trimming down the details, not deviating from the narrative. Any additions helped translate from one medium to the other. Loved it
If only all interviews had such original questions
Getting this "comb the desert!" mental image from Space Balls
Tuvok for the win!
WE AIN'T SEEN SH*T!
That’s what I remembered too ! A hilarious movie 😋
LOL 😆
I got that very same feeling upon seeing the spice collectors. Those big feet that look like combs.
Thank you for asking the emotional question ❤️
Gotta say I'm happy for Denis. He's been wanting this since he was 14 years old.
Hope we see how fremen get off the sandworms in dune messiah that be cool.

Riding them to exhaustion, or at least to the point they won't bother to turn around and eat you, is mentioned in the books at least once.
Genius director
Agreed
Please make the next few books
great questions!!!

The process for getting off of a sandworm is the reverse of getting on top of a sandworm , it’s all about the maker hooks 😎💜
Great questions!
A very good question. 👍

Maybe in Messiah because there is a plot to kill Paul that involves a guild representative.
we wont see a Steersman until Messiah
Definitely in Messiah! However not in part two
Great 😊
1:15 Wow. Really?
Theaters got that sound that makes watching a movie at home dull
In Dune 1984 they had to remove the brush from the Mexican desert.
Mm hmm, “sweeping the desert” with VFX lol. Seriously though, Villanueva is one of the better directors

He should have cast Alia as a child.

01:22 - 01:43 to get to the title of the video.
The rest is fluff.
The way Denis says “Madame” 🤌
