Wow it truly is beautiful there. Looked like you sure took advantage of the weather window. Always a pleasure watching and so glad it is going well. It truly is one of the bright spots in my week.
Thank you so much for your shared videos. About sharks.... do you have book about different fishes (if yes, maybe, you can suggest a book), or how do you know which shark is interested in tasting people :) and which not :) Once again thank you so much and wishing you fair winds and all the best!
In general, no sharks are particularly interested in tasting people. :) If they approach you, it’s usually out of curiosity! By displaying appropriate behaviors, they will understand that you are not prey and swim away. For the black tip reef sharks here in French Polynesia, holding your ground and maintaining eye contact with the sharks is usually enough to spook them. For others, going vertical in the water and extending an inanimate object between you and the shark (or a firm tap on their nose if they get too close) will usually redirect them. We’ve learned over time the trick is not to let them spook you! Splashing or swimming away from them can make them think you’re prey. We like the region-specific Reef Fish Identification books! Thanks so much for watching, and for your kind words! ❤️
What a beautiful spot for a picnic…..under a tent. 🏝️⛺️ Just a lovely episode, guys. 😊 What model RainMan do you have? Interesting to hear it fills your tanks faster than the Spectra (I’m going to guess the 400?). Your recommendation tells me the RainMan is the watermaker of choice for backup as well as occasional primary. What is the power consumption difference from the Spectra? Thanks for another great time. See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨
We have the 115V high output (portable) Rainman, which makes ~37 gallons per hr and takes 1250W. Our Spectra Catalina 340 makes ~14 gallons an hour and takes 220W. Both have been great additions to our boat!
Someone should start a sailing/wrenching school in Paradise. You work on boats for half the day and sail for the other half. I bet it would be a hit as people need to know how to do both equally as well and then a person can really decide if living on a boat is for them 😉
Beautiful anchorage! I see y’all have a portable RainMan water maker instead of a built-in one. I’ve seen a lot of breakdowns on built-in versions and thought this might be a be a good option for my boat coming out of a charter fleet. What are y’alls thoughts on it?
We have the portable Rainman as a backup for our built in Spectra! The Spectra takes less power and is what we prefer to run while underway, but the Rainman is simple and reliable. We’ve had the Rainman for less than a year, but we are loving it!
Gang, I'm T-27 days until my house sells and then I'm on my way to BVI to boat shop!!!!! YEAGHHH!!!!

Totally! Like a realistic live aboard charter.
