    In san Francisco Bay the 3 way swivel has been used for decades for halibut, stripe bass and rock fishing.

      If it's a high tide they will be pushed up closer to the beach low tide a bit farther away.

      Fucking literally… meanwhile most of us who are pressed for fishing time have to fight over when and where to shore pound, go to piers all on the same days (the weekends), kayak fish limited ways and spaces (unless you have fancy pedal drive or motor)
      Not hating on boat guys by anymeans but man it really is a luxury… even boat club members… I mean cmon it’s a good deal but I can barely get out on a boat as it is like most people and I can’t afford a monthly subscription like that. And sport boats are cool and put you on fish but I’m sorry I’d rather not fish with 15-20 people sardine canned next to me, same with public piers on certain days. I mean man I wish things were different but life is life 😅❤

    Using a 3 way swivel is called drop shot? I heard drop shot mentioned that’s why I’m asking.

    What about using a snelled top hook and a treble trap hook at the bottom? My friend uses that set up and catches a lot of big halibut. Hooking the troubled trap in top of spine close to tail, tying the treble onto an 8” tag below the Snell?

    • @hogsquadfishing
      @hogsquadfishing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used to use them but sometimes it ended up gut hooking and killing short halibut so I stoped.

    Not bad but not good. What knot's did you use? What size hook? What bait? ... Good job on how to locate the fish but the rig up ? How do I do that?. Tbh I know how but your viewers don't.

      No, this is not true. Not saying that it is the best but this is one of THE best ways for So Cal halibut fishing.

    • @ultimatejay
      @ultimatejay ปีที่แล้ว

      One knot is for the sinker which if you break off doesn’t matter. I use lighter line one the sinker so if I get snagged it can easily break off and save the rest of my rig.
