Gaviota has always been the bomb.... caught av 5 lb Calico up off San Augustine years ago in my RIB Swore I was tangled in the kelp until it took off ! Fish tacos galore :)
Damn dude should’ve hooked up that octopus get a ling I know it’s not the target species but when the opportunity presents itself take it. You had ling candy!
I would have done that, but the spot I was fishing has no reef and no one really catches lingcod there. I do have another video where I did that and caught a nice ling though
Thanks brah, after seeing how much pressure you pet on that rod it makes me feel better about owning one that I haven't put it to a test. I've read a lot of bad reviews on the lighter rods of them breaking the tip .Thanks for that video. Keep up the good work
@@mariomoreno1418 Glad you found this helpful, I have not had any problems with the rod and it has worked very well. I really like using a light setup to throw the swimbait, you can feel everything and its a lot of fun
One day that drive gona fall over in the breaks or when you capsize for whatever reason. my suggestion is run a rope line from the drive eye hook to the handle up front and clip it down. Save yourself self 900 bucks right there....
You're doing great young man!
Thanks!
If I’m not mistaken this is Gaviota beach. I just have a question how far from shore do you go
I remember that day my friend. Can't wait to get back on it!
Get get! Always looking forward to the next video. I need to get my kayak out to that spot.
Thanks! Get out there!
Nice work! I'm going to try your method of one live rod and one swimbait rod. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks! One live bait rod and one swimbait rod is perfect in my experience

Thanks! It's an uglystik tiger medium light 7'6. Highly recommend

St croix 7'6 MH Mojo inshore

I’m curious what the gray float is carrying behind your boat?
Great vid! Subbed
what weight of the jig head?
I used 1oz, 1.5oz, and 2oz this day
Do you guys have heavy current in your area? 10 Oz seems overkill for 55 ft
There can be a bit of current but I could probably get away with 8oz or 6oz on a good day. Just had some 10oz available
What size daiwa bg you have on your rod
4000
My favorite fish to eat.
They are tasty but salmon beats them for me
