yeah this is a super common habit for ness players. as his rising fair starts hitting above the ledge immediately so its super safe as you can drift back however if shielded it can be punished with a 2 frame but a lot of 2 frames wont reach him but bowser has crazy reach with that down angled f tilt so its not something bestness encounters a lot. best ness should have took a deep breath and thought and stopped pressing buttons. sometimes we tend to play mindlessly reacting solely on muscle memory instead of analyzing and adjusting
