"The cgi was bad I dont remember it being bad!"
"Good lord what is this!?"
Man, being 7 was fun cause at least your imagination didn't question it haha.
I watched sharkboy and lavagirl for the first time like 3 months ago, and I dont even remember the cgi looking that bad 😔
Mine did, sadly. I was a jaded 7 year old complaining about graphics.
i remember even at 7 I couldn't stand the CGI loved spy kids but hated the CGI
I watched it when I was 8 or something, and I remember the cgi being bad, and the specially bad parts I just as assumed were like that because they were 3D and that was probably difficult or whatever
I had watched spy kids 3. I still couldn't make the connection that the cgi was just bad.
PLEASE why am i the only one that likes the cgi. i never once questioned the graphics, and i'm so glad i haven't because i can enjoy cgi movies/tv shows with no complains.

It is for me as well! Absolutely adore this movie

“It takes an insane left turn you couldn’t possibly see coming” yeah kinda like like a dream. I think that’s the point
The full grown man shouting “oh no, she’s got shark strength!” As a little girl kicks his ass has a new cuter context when it’s revealed at the end (spoiler) that the adults all knew all along and were wanting to train the kids. Years ago I loved this movie. A month ago, I was really excited to show it to my 7 year old cousin, and I could just barely hide my cringing. She absolutely enjoyed it though. Nostalgia really covers up the bad until you revisit it.
Wasn't like one of the points of Sharkboy and Lavagirl was that it wasn't clear if they were even real or not and whether it was all a dream
The reason why the CGI looks like shit is because this movie was made for kids and kids can't tell what's good CGI and they don't give a shit...
As a former kid I can confirm
nah, I distinctly remember my 8-year-old friends and I complaining that this movie contained awful cgi
Yes.
As a former kid, I can confirm that, and also say that I liked this movie for the longest time
I believe it's what adults think kids like, but low tech for children has always been the case. I remember a '70s Spiderman movie where the web was literally a cargo net. I believe the real reason why these things are so low budget is that the people know these shows have a short life span. They aren't Disney movies that last '50 years or more. They are something that will be shown for three months and never seen again.
