Thank you so much for sharing! Clear explanation and great demonstration. One Tip which helps with position of the measuring device. Open the bonnet and use for example the bonnet reststops to align the position (or any other left / right mutual bolts). You have the open the bonnet anyway. This will make it easier to ensure the measuring device is pointing straight at the headlight. Measuring the height of the bulb is an estimate but it can be improved by using a small laser light and leveler which points at the bulb. Then measure the height between floor and the laser light.
This was actually really helpful, nobody’s ever explained the mirror function at the top and how to set the machine up correctly - thanks mate 👍

Super informative, really helped me figure out the basics of my machine! Appreciate it👍
Amazing video thanks.
Gonna show this to my dad that insists on disputing this was not necessary for my MOT 🙄
He’s not trained in cars one little bit
Thanks for posting
Great video 👍🏻 Does this apply on xenon projector headlights? The cutoff on projector headlights needs to start on the 2% or 0%?
Same for ALL headlamps, regardless of light source.
How the hell do you do this from home to make sure you’re gonna pass an MOT? absolutely mental rule
Maybe on a wall or something, improvise 👍
@@AutomotiveDIYTutorials Very fine margins to be legal though.
@@Tom3294. yeah it really is, but i have seen people do it that way. Not all set the machine up like that correctly either.
thanks!!
Wow
You forgot to mention how far away from the light the unit should be.
Sorry, between 25cm-30cm. Hope this helps
How do you know the hight of every bulb in a vehicle?
You would need to measure it
@@AutomotiveDIYTutorials But isn´t it inaccurate? I would like to have a laser beam out of the alignment machine to exactly find dead center
@@JohnWayne-gl9ig maybe check to see if you can get one in the market somewhere. Goodluck buddy 👍
