    I really wish this kind of video had come much earlier when I was younger. I would learn about alignment so much easier through this video rather than explanations from back them in games and other media. This video REALLY dumbed down the sheer essentials of what toe, camber, and front caster all represent.

    That was helpful and concise; new sub! I recently dialed some rear toe out on my GTI to help rotation during autocross, so managing this balance is fresh in my mind.

    Toe out on the front axle of rear wheel drive cars is generally only preferred for racing and competition purposes. Most street rear wheel drive cars have toe in on the front axel as well because they will naturally toe out during acceleration and at speeds so toe in adjust for this. This allows for greater stability when going in a straight line at speed but reduces cornering agility. Look at the recomended factory settings for pretty much any rear wheel drive car and they will recommend some degree of toe in on the front.

    Can you do a video of what should change if we change the wheels or use wider tires. What happens when offset changes and what changes should be done if we change wheels.
    If we install larger wheels do we follow factory settings or do we have to have new ones?
    Does the offset change in wheels affect the alignment settings.
    Basically what to do if modifying wheels and tires.

    I'm so confused. Some people say the temps should be the same across the wheel. While others say the inside should be the hottest, then 5 degrees lower on the middle and again on the outer edge.
    Which is it? To me it seems more logical that it's all one temp, as the surface is then used equally.

  • @DarkMat90
    @DarkMat90 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The temperature statement is false. Optimal camber is usually reached when the inside of the tyre is 5°C hotter than the middle and 10°C than the outside since it will be the part that contacts the road only when cornering

    It's better to run lower tire pressure than to try to compensate too much with camber.

    • @keisuketakahasi4584
      @keisuketakahasi4584 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      slightly lower pressure (i found out its +/- 0.2 bar in my car) means the tire is softer and goes around corners a little better but accelerates slower and consumes a little more fuel. more pressure the opposite of both... you shouldnt go too much off the suggested pressure tho.. except for winter when you dont want to check your pressure every 2 weeks just do a little more lol
