This 2016 recording released in 2021 on the In And Out label, is a wonderful album of three legendary jazz musicians, Ron Carter, Donald Vega, and Russell Malone. Ron and Donald are the last two musicians Russell would ever play with at the Blue Note in Tokyo, Japan. Of course, a legend. If you haven’t watched the documentary „Finding the Right Notes“ yet I can only recommend to do so. There is also a soundtrack double lp by In+Out.
What an amazing life as a jazz bassist and still going strong a his age.
I quite like the Golden Striker album but the Live in Stockholm double album (also by In+Out) is my goto. Luckily I caught the limited numbered edition signed by RC.
