Loving your videos!! I really appreciate how you always acknowledge the students' teacher rather than implying they only train with you as so many coaches do. By the way Kenzie is amazing!!! What a joy to watch!
Claudia is a smiling assasin task master! Kenzie did fantastically well. She is so focused, so serious in trying to do it right, to follow Claudia's instructions. Kenzie is a lovely young dancer. Her bun is so pretty. She is such an earnest student. She is already elegant!
Claudia - this was fantastic! I love how you break it down into these steps. I've also discovered that I have to work on some very basic basics first (weak knees, weak *ankles*) but so looking forward to TWIRLING!!! :)
My 8 year old daughter just started ballet classes for the first time. She loves it and these videos will help her during her time away from class. Thanks so much for posting these fabulous videos.
I need this tutorial so much!!i am actually trying to fix my pose turns! Is there a video for step over turn(the lame duck as I heard in some videos)? Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing all these videos! you're really positive and inspiring, I've learnt a lot! Can you please film one about nutrition and cross training?? love you❤❤
Amazing video again!❤ I don't know but maybe you could do a video about how to remember combos quickly. And a video about placement, for example I have trouble with frappé on demi pointe. And maybe: difference between a private ballet school and a state ballet school or ballet academy.
Thanks a lot! All of your videos means so much to me! Because I don't really learn ballet or any dance class outside but I really love ballet😍 So after watching your videos I can kindly practice it a little bit a home😜
Love this video. ❤️ Exactly what I needed a video on. 😃 Just wondering, is the foot being behind the knee is an RAD thing? I do Cecchetti and we have to have the foot in front. Thanks. Xx
Alice Mealing I train in RAD and my teacher always gets on me for not putting my foot underneath my knee cap. I don't know how they do it but I know that RAD wants it under the knee.
Carlotta Beccaria Cecchetti has the foot in front, Vaganova behind. Another difference is that Vaganova does the step (the actual piqué or posé) forward, and Cecchetti steps sideways like they do in this video. So tiny differences everywhere!
Just had my ballet exams yesterday. I used a lot of the tips from earlier videos and I am pretty happy with what I did! Thank you!!! Mostly the split jump tip though:) btw I take the RAD syllabus.
yanyuet That is a Vaganova thing, the foot in front and stepping forwards rather than to the side. I'm not sure which style this video shows, or if it is a mix of different schools.
Ruben Frias you are welcome, I trained in England and then went to the states, I was so confused in my first class there when they called them pique turns!
Danielle Bather They are also piqué tours in the Vaganova syllabus, which is the most common style in the Netherlands. But I was trained in the Cecchetti style, where they are called posé tours (or turns), so remembering both terms is the best way to go I guess!
there is another gorgeous Australian ballet dancer, she is a bit younger than Claudia and dammit i forgot her name Update, her name is Talia Fidra, she is amazing, and she did work with Claudia
I have a question and you seem like the perfect one to ask My dance studio starts with pointe lessons soon. I would love to participate in the future (after some more ballet classes, I started last summer. I want (and have) to wait until I'm good enough to go on pointe safely), but I have some problems. I have a light case of flat feet, weak ankles and my legs have preferred the x-feet position since I was very little (my legs aren't like that because of something medical though. My legs like that position for some reason). Ballet is fixing all of these problems for me. My ankles are already ten times stronger, my flat feet seems less flat for some reason (not sure if this is even possible. It might be because of one foot stretch that I do) and I never walk in x-feet position any more and my turn out gets slowly bigger. I'm also stretching and training muscles at home, but I am still worried and I think that I would still be worried after letting my teachers and a Fysio therapist look. Do you think that I could ever go on pointe without ruining my feet? And how necessary is going on pointe if you want to become a dance teacher (not on a high level and not only ballet)? I wanted to ask you too, because my teachers can go on pointe, but haven't given much pointe lessons yet (for as far is I know). I trust them (they are amazing and careful. You can't even write yourself in for the pointe class without seeing a Fysio therapist first), but idk I want to be even more sure

sure the benefits of being in advanced and trained in 2 styles- Balanchine and IDTA 😂 (although I often get caught out for doing the wrong style in either class lol)

This is so helpful, would these tips apply to posé turns en pointe work as well?💗
Tayla King it definitely would however I'll make a tutorial for those too for you Tayla❤️😍
Claudia Dean Coaching thank you so much Claudia!!❤
Hi! I don't know if this is a problem but when I do first position with my feet, my knees don't get together, as I'm so skinny
This is the earliest I've been
there are some schools which teach to turn to face the corner with the leg devant as preparation. any views on that?
yanyuet That is a Vaganova thing, the foot in front and stepping forwards rather than to the side. I'm not sure which style this video shows, or if it is a mix of different schools.
Hi, can you also teach us ballet variations?
❤️😘
What is the move on 1:39 again?
Aren't these also called Piqué Turns?
Ruben Frias yes! In RAD English Ballet they are called pose turns, in America they are called pique.
Danielle Bather Cool, I was a bit confused there, but thank you :)

saysaymoo99 Thanks! I actually ended up reading the comments (something I should probably do BEFORE commenting) where someone explained. I love all you educated ballerinas. :)

Haha- kidding. But she's gorgeous!
Great dancer. but I wanted to see strictly pirouette turns like the title says. Not piques!!!
