I struggle with pirouettes en pointe, it's such a shame because turning is one of my favourite things 😂 this all makes so much sense though, I only wish I could come to Australia and do a class with you x
omg YESSS pirouettes are my weak point above all en pointe. Until this video, I didn't know if I was supposed to roll to pointe or to bring my toes to my center line. Claudia Dean is a divine creature that has come to help us all mere mortals, amen
As someone with very narrow hip and a naturally limited turnout, the only thing I can concentrate on is Talia's turnout. OMG it is the most inspiring thing ever!
Yes Claudia, your are a master at Ballet Training! Also, Talia is right-on-pointe with her Pirouettes! I can see where talia is going to be a Prima in a couple. Of years! Claudia, Thanks a million for all your instructions, helping all ballet students world-wide! Claudia, whatever compensation you receive, if tripped, would not be near enough!
I can do chaines and posés on pointe no problem but I can't do any more than a single pirouette I just find them so terrifying!! any tips to help get over the fear of turns on pointe as I feel that's what is holding me back most? xx
I have the exact same issue, I'm so terrified sometimes without any reason... The only thing that helps me is to keep the preparation as short as possible. So I try to stay in the preparation as short as possible so I don't have time to think about it and just have to do it immediately :D But yes, I feel you!
Tip 2 helped my turns so much! I didn't realize my feet weren't in line and my weight wasn't equally distributed between both feet. Now I feel more stable and balanced when I turn.
2nd EDIT: Thanks for the likes! Hopefully she spots this!~ How cool would it be if Claudia taught variations on TH-cam! We could apply what she says to what are teacher says, to preform to the maximum in competions! Or get exposed to variations we aren't currently learning! Reply to this comment variations you'd like her to teach, so she could see our input. I vote Esmerelda variation this one: th-cam.com/video/KJl4tzEa52w/w-d-xo.html . And Gamaztti variation from la bayadere! You could demonstrate on a student! These videos will be relatively long or split into two parts. One where you teach us the actual choreography and we can watch this as we please to memorize, then another video cleaning the variation with tips. Love this channel! I'm sure your subs would love this! And you would too! Please try and reply! Ily! ;) EDIT: Talia is back yay! I'm subscribed to her channel as well!
Thank you so much! I never was a turner! More of the extreme flexible kind of dancer which comes in handy but turning is all the more useful! Thank you soooo much Claudia!!!! Quads on pointe here I come! EDIT: If you read this respond to my other comment instead please! Thank you!!!!
Also what is the benefit of crossing your arms in first while turning? My ballet teacher said to avoid it unless necessary but why is it necessary for some people??? I'd like to know! It may help out my turns.
N/A N/A You have to cross your arms like that while doing partnering turns (maybe that's what your teacher was talking about) but besides that I've always been told you never should. Hope that helps :)
Capezio. 99% sure. Check out her TH-cam channel it's amazing too. She I think explains Capezios are her shoes. And practically everything XD. They sponsor her. Hope this helps!!!! ;)
I loved this tutorial on turns en pointe. It makes so much sense. Talia is my favorite. She is so talented and witty! Thank you to both of you for helping us out of the dark with these turns. Means so much to be able to effortlessly do our tuns en pointe and look good as well1
I just started doing pirouettes en pointe, so I don't dare to try doing it at home, but I can't wait for Monday's class, I'm going to try these tips for sure. Do you have any specific tips fir those who did only single turns en pointe so far, how to move on to doubles and more...? Thank you for the amazing video!!! 😘😘😘
Brilliant! Tip #2 definitely helped me find the proper placement in 4th for the jump preparation for turning exercise (from previous "Quick Tip" video i.e. Tip #8 exercise in this video) Tip #4, 5, & 6 = ALL ahhhmazing for upper body shoulder/back stabilization. - Love "puppet strings" for this as well! Genius, Claudia! As always! Your videos are simply invaluable! Forever grateful for them!
Thank you so much for the tips, Talia is amazing, such cleans lines are a delight to watch! As an adult beginner I found that what helps me the most is to think of the turn as a movement upwards rather than a rotation, hope this helps :)
Hi, I'm probably being stupid but I was a little confused about the position of the elbow in the turn (tip 4). If it is in line with your shoulder your hands cross, but are your finger tips not supposed to be touching down your centre line? Thanks for these tips, love them!
Thank you soooo much for your fabulous sharing on teaching, do love your way to begin with muscle explain but not just movement, wish can have my students to learn from you face by face someday.
I've been working a lot lately on my pirouettes en flat and pointe, but on flat when I am doing doubles I keep falling out and I can seem to land them successfully :( HELP!!
Clara Euale she has actually already talked about pirouettes on flat in three different videos. One video on singles , one video on doubles , and one on triples! You can find them if you scroll through her channel💕❤️
Thank you so much, Claudia! I love your videos and since I started practicing pirouettes on pointe with your tips I started to do it so much better! I'm a big fan of your work! Congratulations :)
Hi, I am having trouble. I know it sounds stupid, but I am terrified of turning on pointe (pirouettes especially and atitude turns) because I always lose my balance and fall. I have watched so many videos and I can kinda-sorta do one in class, but at home, it is also hard because I am on a wood floor. Any tips for balance (and not being terrified) :) ?
I could only do a half pirouette on pointe because I’m a beginner on pointe and I did this in 1 week now I can do 2 pirouettes on pointe☺️💗✨I’m still doing these every day💖✨
I would love to see a video on how to get over fears of doing multiple pirouettes en pointe! I feel like I should be able to do at least a double, but I always get scared and end my releve quickly even though I try to keep it :( any tips?
hi, i hope you will answer because i really need some help. Do you recommend doing each exercise from every video you have done so far daily or do you think that i should do alternate days? Thank you x
hi claudia ! if i cant have some time alone in the studio or a lot of pointe work classes where do you suggest that i should practice pirouettes on pointe ?
Claudia, all of your video's is very amazing anda very help full, and can you please teach us how to hold arabesque on point because I cant do that and i hope you make this video. love you Claudia Dean. 😘😘😘💗💗💞💞💓
I know zero about ballet steps, I just love watching these videos so can someone please tell me how on earth your legs aren't in constant agony having to point your feet outwards the whole time?!?
Very helpful! Yet, I still have problems every time I want to do a releve on a single leg. I guess the rise would be easier than doing a sharp releve. Any other advice though? Thanks!
I was too. Watch that bit of the video a few times. You'll spot the difference. One is rolling through and the other is almost like a hop. I forgot which is which though. Try what I explained and yeah. The terminology isn't all that important in this spectrum. Rewatch the section! Hope this helps!!! ;)
Hey Claudia, My name is Anna Fox. I struggle with tunes on pointe and my main struggle is getting up onto releve in the center. Two feet I’m fine with it’s just single footed it’s so much harder. Any tips would be great!
Hi Claudia, I find you a great teacher, thanks to you, I have greatly improved my performances and those of my little pupils. Thanks for your tutorials. I wanted to ask you if it is possible, a video that explains in the simplest way the placement of the pelvis and the buttocks, I find it the most difficult thing to teach
the line up between your elbow and shoulder throws me off because I end up crooked........ it doesn't look like Talia does that in the video? I struggle with pirouettes. I'm still working on a single from fourth.....thanks for the tips. the puppets string one is great!

i've been trying to do turns in pointe, i get the techniques and all. My point shoe shank is very hard for my feet to the point that I can't roll through as much. Does that mean I should change since its hurting my feet whenever i try to roll through, i get pain and can't last during classes.

I can’t do half a piroette off pointe
As someone with very narrow hip and a naturally limited turnout, the only thing I can concentrate on is Talia's turnout. OMG it is the most inspiring thing ever!

I agree! Talia is #goals all around! She radiates talent and upbeat kindness! Love the Claudia videos ft. Talia!

Same...

Omg me too I need advice, anyone?? X
I have the exact same problem
I am going en pointe this summer, I'm so excited and this makes me even more excited.
Love "one of your heels's off.... it's the back one!" - amazing quick eye!
Tip 2 helped my turns so much! I didn't realize my feet weren't in line and my weight wasn't equally distributed between both feet. Now I feel more stable and balanced when I turn.
Omg her Turnout is so perfect

Kathryn Morgan will be teaching some in the fall and it would be cool if you did too! Maybe even sooner!
N/A N/A I just found it so funny that I'm currently doing both variations right now 🤣🤣
Thank you so much! I never was a turner! More of the extreme flexible kind of dancer which comes in handy but turning is all the more useful! Thank you soooo much Claudia!!!! Quads on pointe here I come! EDIT: If you read this respond to my other comment instead please! Thank you!!!!

I have always loved to pirouette, when I do it on pointe it is such a difference from flats because it is harder to get up onto the box.
what shoes does talia wear? they look incredible!!!
Capezio. 99% sure. Check out her TH-cam channel it's amazing too. She I think explains Capezios are her shoes. And practically everything XD. They sponsor her. Hope this helps!!!! ;)

I haven't even started pointe yet, but I'm literally obsessed with watching pointe how-tos on TH-cam.
Tip #4 definitely helped me so much!! I always have trouble with not moving around during my pirouette. Thank you!!

Tayla Marie How exciting! Thankyou so much for letting me know 💕😍
Hi, I'm probably being stupid but I was a little confused about the position of the elbow in the turn (tip 4). If it is in line with your shoulder your hands cross, but are your finger tips not supposed to be touching down your centre line? Thanks for these tips, love them!
I have the same question, how do you keep your hands at the center line when you're pushing the elbow over?
Thank you soooo much for your fabulous sharing on teaching, do love your way to begin with muscle explain but not just movement, wish can have my students to learn from you face by face someday.
Thank you so much - that would be amazing for you to come to my studios!! x

i know i’m late but the short answer: they are...lol
Maddie Draws, but not on TH-cam better late than never sweetie 😂
Fairly Vague true true
Very helpful! Yet, I still have problems every time I want to do a releve on a single leg. I guess the rise would be easier than doing a sharp releve. Any other advice though? Thanks!
Please do a video about "How to prepare for pointe shoes" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fabulous idea!! I'll add this to the video ideas list right away x
OMG ILY ❤️💕❤️
I'm pretty confused as to what the difference between a regular relevé and a "Rise" can you explain?
I was too. Watch that bit of the video a few times. You'll spot the difference. One is rolling through and the other is almost like a hop. I forgot which is which though. Try what I explained and yeah. The terminology isn't all that important in this spectrum. Rewatch the section! Hope this helps!!! ;)
love it!
Thank you so much xxx

Hi Claudia, I find you a great teacher, thanks to you, I have greatly improved my performances and those of my little pupils.

I'm thankful for your support
Could you do like a ballet terminology video xxx
Do you have any tips for people that are just going on to point ????
Verry good job ❤😍
Thanks Molly xxx
Her leotard is gorgeous 💖
I'm sorry, but by watching this, there is something I am not sure to understand, could anyone correct me please?
My teacher keeps telling me "keep your shoulders down!", then she yells it at me, and then she slaps me on my shoulders...etc. Well, you get it, it's one of those recurring problems.
So I wanted to ask you : Should I always keep them down? Because it seems to me that in one of her first pirouettes Talia has her shoulders quite up... (I'm very sorry if my english is not good and there are mistakes...)
I can only do like a half to a full turn on pointe 😪I really need to work on my pointe work
Same here
i've been trying to do turns in pointe, i get the techniques and all. My point shoe shank is very hard for my feet to the point that I can't roll through as much. Does that mean I should change since its hurting my feet whenever i try to roll through, i get pain and can't last during classes.
im probably late but i had the same problem, and changing the brand was the best choice!
Rise is called eleve
thank you a lot 😍😍😍😍
What type of ballet is this because I do gechetti and our arms are very different when our hands are in 1st position our fingers don't touch and we do more of an oval shape rather than circle
Hey the me again love your videos you should do a-z ballet challenge bye
DEFINITELY going to put this into practice - thank you for the great suggestion!! xx
thats talia!!!
Can you do a video about nutrition for dancers? That would be amazing!!!😄😄😄
Ps: I ❤️ your videos!!!
Claudia, I do not find your vídeo with the tip "exhalation on turn". That tip really helped me. Could you please identify it for me? 😉
