  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your DELL D830 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
    Have fun and good luck!!

    Thanks for sharing the video, it was very helpful. I had to take apart my daughters laptop and did not know where to start. After watching your video I was able to disassemble and reassemble her laptop easily.

    Thank you for this.
    A really detailed explanation which helped resurrect my old D830 after it complained of seeing no hard drives. Just a simple lead out the socket problem which this upload helped me correct.

    GREAT VIDEO! I was able to replace a broken hinge (thanks to ebay parts stores) and avoid throwing away a perfectly good working old (but SSD) laptop. YAH!

    I wasn't sure if up or down vote. It's a bit too fast and unfocused to understand what's there and a bit too reckless for the usual servicing. But, heck, you're on fire, looks like one of those disassemble/assemble your army rifle as fast as you can :D

    Hey Peter! Thanks for such a nice comment!
    Yes I know about ESD :)) But I hate this stupid cable and I wear it just to make people curious why do I wear it and if they ask I usually tell that that they need to wear wired one :)
    And I am, well, I think till now I was fine and didn't break much :)
    Have a nice day!

    yep, it is nice thing about desktops. and it is so funny, many people think they can do same with laptops, but they just can't realize that usually gpu is soldered for sure and in some cases, more often this days cpu is also integrated....

    usually dust will be causing an overheating issue - does it heat up a lot? Some programs you installed over the period of time can slow down a laptop performance as well. Think many times prior to take you laptop apart. You will need to remember a lot of things.

    I have a kingston hyper X 120GB ssd for OS and programs. 2TB Western Digital green for storgage. intel i7 3770K cpu. gigabyte gtx660ti sc gpu. thermaltake Overseer RX-I for the case. A Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard. and kingston 8gb 1666mhz RAM. And a thermaltake 800 watt Power supply. its overkill for me but really happy

    Nice video, will save me some time when I'm going to upgrade the CPU on my D830. Wearing ESD protection is a good thing but I hope you know that you have to connect the wristband with a cable to ground (via a 1Mohm resistor preferably) otherwise the wristband does nothing. Yeah I know, the cable gets in the way :-( Cheers

    Thank you really much, but can you tell me what exactly the graphics card is?
    I would like to remove it, because it doesn't work any more and i don't know what or where it is.

    • @zit175
      @zit175 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, just removing the graphics card isnt possible. Your graphics card (A 135M or 140M) needs to be reflowed. Google that, there are plenty of companies willing to do that.

    uhm Hi regazzz, do you happen to know any other way to turn on Dell Latitude D830 if my keyboard is broken?

  • @JM.-
    @JM.- 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    My DELL D820 is working really slow. When I got it it worked well. Is it possible that inside my PC there is a lot of dust etc? Will I have to open it and clean everything inside? I'm asking, because i have never done it before, so I'm worried that I will shatter/destroy something inside my PC and it will not turn on next time :>

    Never seen a drill used like this before...very strange. I'm sure you go through bits like crazy, either that or chew up the screw heads.

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can damage screw heads really easy. But with the right bit - it's all good. Still is helping with projects where you need to take apart a bunch of laptops. Easier on hands I think.

    • @ejrSpAcE
      @ejrSpAcE 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@regazzz In agreement with using a drill for working on multiple units. The comment about the drill was me thinking about using it in the same manner say unscrewing wood screws. Even though the screws in notebooks have a bit of thread lock applied it does not take much force to get them loose. Was a Dell DSP for a few years, going to say three notebooks was the most on one service call but never had to take them completely apart. One may had a board replaced where another just a kb and the other display. Back in the day there were some models where a bit over tightening would crack the plastic.
