This is a quick and to the point video that outlines how to bleed brakes and specifically, e30 brakes. This video should give you the confidence to bleed your own brakes. Leave a comment if you have any questions.
Haha!! Yep, I haven’t posted in some time and my hands love it. I’m back to filming so I’d imagine bloody knuckles and cuts will be normal again. Thanks for watching.
thank you, this was just what i needed to see. Would you recommend getting a brake bleeder from harbor freight? i saw a big one similar to yours for about $100
Without the power bleeder would it take multiple attempts to bleed the brakes properly? I have bled my brakes 2 times now and still have a very spongy pedal and it doesnt engage until very end of pedal and is soft. Without powerbleeder.
Oh no!!! That’s frustrating. With a power bleeder, you’d be done in about 10 minutes. LMK if you get one because it makes the process easier especially if you’re by yourself.
@@thedriversapex I ended up fully flushing the old brake fluid and put all new in as it was half new stuff anyway, after the 3rd brake bleed and completely new fluid brakes are now good. Definitely will invest in a pressure bleeder 😅
I want to take off my calipers to my e30. What’s that red cord that connects to the calipers on that e30? I was going to take it off of mine but I wanted to make sure I knew what it was first
Great question. That’s the brake line. Those are braided steel lines from ECS tuning. www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/exact-fit-stainless-steel-brake-lines-complete-kit/e30698000/?gclid=CjwKCAjw7--KBhAMEiwAxfpkWI9e5udjhlPjwpMeBdxCRHyBKhQ5nQmbVwrgu15FhsEepb0h5LfikRoCP88QAvD_BwE LMK if you have any questions. I have a brake building video that needs editing. I’ll try to get that posted soon. Good luck and Thanks for watching!!
Did you do the clutch line too? I'm due for my brake fluid change soon and was wondering if its a good idea considering they share fluid from the same reservoirs!
Yep! After all the fluid was clear, I moved onto the slave cylinder and the fluid had bubbles and was dark. I bled the brakes three times and the clutch twice. Now the fluid is a nice looking olive oil color. Thanks for watching!!!
@@thedriversapex I saw the lines! That pedal is going to feel SOLID! Did you also do the clutch? I havent seen many kits that include the clutch line too.
Excellent vid. Notice the cut on your hand. I'm forever getting skinned knuckles every time I introduce spanners to my machine as well ;-)

For sure! I feel like half my tools are harbor freight!! Thanks for watching.
Excellent video!
Thanks, Jay!!!

What is the size of the pipe used to drain the brake fluid? And is 7mm the correct wrench size?
That’s a difficult one. I’m not sure. It’s about the size of the vacuum hose that goes to your FPR.

@@thedriversapex Dang it took 3 times to get the bubbles out!? Good man!
Yep. Wanted it to be perfect!! I installed new stainless lines (all six). Brake pedal is nice and firm.

Those power bleeders are the only way, man.
I completely agree!! Thanks for watching!
