Very helpful, thanks. Think you should tighten the bolts in order and gradually in increments instead of going for the correct torque on each straight away, that's what I have to do with our old Austin seven.
The creamy residue you see is in the plug channel not in the cam area so not your head gasket that residue is caused by coolant getting in where the plugs are and the usual suspect is the core plugs that you can see spaced between the plugs and on your model looks to be the Allen screw in ones so will need to be removed cleaned up and refitted with a bit of locktite and that should stop the coolant getting into to plug area and causing a misfire over time if not done hope that helps you out 😊
The mayo gunk can be from short stop start journeys. I know people think the worst and automatically think head gasket, but for peace of mind get it checked out at a garage.
I am replacing the rocker cover gasket for mine and for anyone changing the air filter there is actually 2 in the air filter box the one you showed and on the other half where the oil breather pipe is there is a tiny foam filter that rarely gets replaced and mines was disintegrating I replaced that and mines now runs smoother That wierd clip you dont pop it out you push it in and it lets you pull the connector off And please dont use silicone sealant if the manufacturer procedures dont use it i spent an hour cleaning silicone sealant off my cylinder head and rocker/cylinder head cover
I hadn't picked up that the gunk was in the spark plug cover and not near the cams. Maybe one of the spark plugs weren't in tight enough (could explain poor running) allowing some blow by and then if the gasket wasn't sealing allowing condensation in. Hopefully not worst case head gasket.
@@CarRambles complete success and the car accelerates far better ,the plugs had over an inch of oil on them dampening the spark etc .Thanks for help too
How did you remove the rubber seats that the airbox sits on before you need the 15mm to undo the rear bolts? As far as i can tell they don't stretch over the top?

The oil filler cap looks like cracked around is that normal?😮
Hi , Guys great videos on mk 6.top info regarding bolt length on coil pack, However has anyone had the need to replace or remove the rubber skirt below front bumper, any advice on shall I remove or reattach, just cosmetic really it’s coming away on one side.. looking to any suggestions.👌
@@CarRambles Thanks just reattached back onto clips , if it comes apart again will prob remove👌. Different subject changed air filter and plugs oil on plug threads. Seems Rocker cover gasket fault, did you cure your gasket change on Mk6 fiesta cure the leak? Because I’ve ordered parts to do the same job on mine. Keep uploading them Videos they are really interesting and informative..regards Ray. Ps.. Does oil need to be drained before doing this gasket change? Sorry for all questions guys.
Im baffled, what is that clip called - the cable that was blocking the cover from being lifted 5:10. How did you remove it, assuming you are active and can reply. Do you press on the metal bit or something. I cannot find it for the life of me. I would appreciate it very much if you could give me this knowledge. I am learning.
Daniel Storey yes I managed to get it off. I got a very small flat screwdriver and a hammer and I just tapped the screwdriver between the cover and the block. Not the correct way to do it because I scratched the block. If you use this method, be sure to have a new gasket and gasket sealer. No leaks to report 3 months down the line, so you should be fine.

I own mk6 fiesta so the content will be useful thanks for sharing
Never done a gasket on mine, so was good to find your tutorial, was even more happy to see another Flare Fezzy. 😁

Its called condensation that happens in the oiling system
Good job keeping the ST. Loved this technical stuff too 👌

Gunk is condensation from the breather system 👍 only thing to worry about is when the sump is full of emulsified goodness haha
Legend. Good to know aha. The show carries on, still got a slight problem so hopefully a new coilpack will be the fix.
@@CarRambles no probs. Yeah hopefully! Good luck! Haha
Very helpful, thank you.
Another great video, interesting stuff :)) . Lots of time and work invested on the “ST” glad you’re hanging on to it!,😀

hi,what material is your rocker cover made of? aluminium or plastic?
Thank you helped greatly
Going to attempt this on mine today ,wish me luck but i maybe some time .Will be following your every move so will report back later tonight .
Hope it goes well!

@@adypurdy3791 really glad I could help in some fashion! Enjoy it
This caused a check engine light for me. Also a misfire. Going to do this today will also try to report back haha hope it works 💪

good vid bro thanks very much
Shares👌 glad your keeping it! Did you have to cut your intercooler support for your pro alloy intercooler?
To be honest mate, the amount of plastic and things missing from this car now its crazy. Im not 100% sure if the support is even on my car now aha.
😂😂 cheers anyways. Cracking vid
Very useful until it was suggested the the air filter be fitted in the plastic bag. A joke or a mistake??
Definitely a joke 🤣
Clearly a joke
Thanks for the video 👍 what sealant did you use? Has it leaked eversince you repaired it?
Nope
Do you have a video on how to remove the intake pipes on this mk 6 engine?
I may do one soon

It's basically to prevent stones / scraps etc. You can remove it no issues to be honest

Good vid 👍. Did this fix the problem?
It fixed oil getting in yeah, the coil pack fixed the jittering problem

I think it just pinged off when we done it. Hard to remember but don't lose it...
Use something like a small flat headed screwdriver to slide the clip away from the cable.
Anyone know what that cable is for?
Learned ? I wonder too@@PointyYT
Do you really need gasket sealant with a new rubber gasket ?
Yes
In the service they say that it is not necessary. If it leaks again, check the pcv valve.
Hi ! Have you got the link for the tightening diagram ?
Type in Mk6 rocker cover tightening specs to Google
What is the name cream please ?
Did you use a genuine ford gasket? I heard other brands leak..
I would always recommend a genuine gasket with areas of the engine like this
Dude ur not meant to keep airfikters with the wrapping still on ull block the airflow
But it keeps it clean?
Mine is solid I can't get it off plz help
Same here did you ever work out why?
