Designs4aDiva if u don’t mind me asking what loan company approved you for 10% down my sister had Vanderbilt and they wanted 30% down
Hey love. It was Cascade. Vanderbilt wanted 30 from us
Thank you so much
Designs4aDiva ; please send me your email address, to bigfootbyrd@mail.com. I want to move to Georgia and in a rural area in a mixed area. I am ready to have a really big garden.
Where's the love at with the people
They did us the same way. We are white. We ended up buying a house. We don't live in Ga. but we were treated the same way. I'm so glad you got it worked out!!
I hate comments like this, you DON'T know if race was the reason and as a blk person this is a rejection we deal with ALL THE time. You trying to align yourself and explain this away, while not even going to the same place in GA. Stop that. HER issues wasn't with every clayton homes just a particular one that YOU didn't even go to so you being white is irrelevant.
@@iamshesheisme8954 My point was that not only black people get treated that way, white people get rejected as well! I was sympathizing with you!!
@@iamshesheisme8954😒
Such a pleasure to listen to someone who is genuine with a good heart! You were treated poorly initially, moved on and reached your dream. You are an inspiration to me. I love it that you are folding your laundry during the video - you are the real deal. All the best to you in the future.
I know I'm years late to this video but I'm so glad you took a chance on the second Clayton facility. I feel like if anything would've went wrong in the process with the first place that they just wouldn't have cared and either it would've been slow to get fixed or they would give you the run around and never fix it at all. I'm so happy that y'all didn't give up and found your dream home.
Me and my husband are in the process now. Our house burnt down Saturday before Christmas. So we’re currently homeless. We decided to go with yess homes in cordele Georgia. Wish us luck.
Amber Dean So sorry you lost your home! 😢 prayers that your experience goes smoothly and you and your family are back in a home soon! 🙏🏾
Oh my gosh!!! I’m so sorry! I pray that y’all are doing well! 🙏🏻
Amber I thought I replied to
This. I’m so sorry you lost your home. But I am happy everyone is okay. Please take care and keep us posted on your new home. I’m going to bit Yess homes real soon
Thanku so much. But unfortunately we were denied. So we’re still looking.
Hey look up usda loan zero down but it has be rural areas :) that’s what I’m planing to do next year I’m living in a van to be debt free by 2021 :)
Anytime someone wants to run a credit check right off the bat, walk away. That should absolutely not be their first concern and an application for something like this is a hard hit on your credit. Thanks for sharing. I won't be going there when I buy! Everything you mentioned was very unprofessional!
I feel the people have every right to ask you to apply because you are wasting their time if you don't qualify.
I have found cars online and called the dealership to inquire about it. The first thing they said was "Let's get a credit application and see what we can do". I told her that she could run a credit application if I decided to buy.
I know old post but double edged sword. I'm sure most of the sales employees employment is based on how many they sell. Considering so much goes into a home application of any type I understand why some are like before we get invested and excited lets see if this is even possible. Why should the sales person get their hopes up of yey a sale and my paycheck and then find out the person isn't serious or vice versa it's kinda cruel to give a buyer all this info and hope based on verbal info only to do a credit check and fall through and learn they got excited about getting a home for nothing. It's a no win scenario.
It's not much different than when realtors don't want to show properties unless you've been pre-approved.
I always feel if I'm turned down for any reason. God has something better. Eventually you will see that it works our better for you. You chose the first; God had the second for you. All a learning experience 😁💖. Now you can walk others thru the process😊
Exactly!!!
Amen
Amen and amen!!
Amen
I had a bad experience with the first mobile home dealer, I told him what I wanted and he states”you must going to put a lot down”, I stood up shook his hand and thank him and I left, I’m like you don’t know what I have in my purse.
Some people are terrible. Don’t give up. Your going to find the right people to work with😜
Watch Never Buy A Clayton Manufactured Home on TH-cam
Thank you for telling us Selina Lee's name and about the Opelika location of Clayton Homes because it's nice to hear about good people and encouraging to future buyers.
Thanks. She was great and she worked hard to get us whatever we needed!
I know this is 1 year old but I am thankful for her video. Clayton where I live at is almost the same as the 1st Clayton. Bad business going on there.
Years ago my ex-husband and I tried looking into buying a modular home. We lived East of Atlanta. We never even got past the office. We were pretty much told that we couldn't afford to do a manufactured home. I don't even remember who the dealership was. When you are told no, it discourages you from trying again. Now I'm single and wanting a home to retire in. I've looked at your channel and a couple others. These homes are lovely compared to 18 yrs ago. I'm happy things worked out for you. Gives me hope.
You should definitely write to clayton homes corporation and leave a review on Yelp of that clayton home guy that did you wrong.
Ultimate Jeonghan The sales reps usually come and go really quickly. This business has a short life span as a salesman
@@trooper2121 if it reaches the higher ups, you think they are going to recommend them for their next job? NO. its necessary to track and report bad workers.
I’m 27, and thinking about buying a Manufacture home, I’m sooo happy I came across your videos, you’re helping me sooo much, thank you sooo much for taking time out to share your experience with the process of buying a manufactured home.
Did you end up buying a manufactured home?
My sister let me say something. It was not all in your head. This happen to me at a Clayton home dealership as well. It's like your treated "less than". I am proud you did not let that deter you. By the way, great job on the weight loss.
Thanks so much 😂
First giving honor to God, im so glad the Lord sent u to the right place i saw u an ur husband beautiful home, i had lots of trouble with Clayton homes also but just listening to ur story made me realize how blessed i am, through all we been through we still got joy, my advice to everyone go to the Lord Jesus Christ first before going to any lot, pray the Lord send u to the right place an sales person an also tell him what u want pray on it, thank God for u i love real people be soever blessed.
Aww thanks so much. Yes we pray about every decision
I have run into sale's men who act like they didn't want your business. But it's their loss
Exactly! I feel the same way!
Seriously just freakin rude the whole way you need my business I don’t have to deal with this shìt , I wish you guys had Deer Valley homes and Palm harbor homes in the Area they both have lovely knowledgeable staff
We felt the same way when we checked with Clayton. We were lucky there was another dealer ship in town so we went with them. We bought from Mid American homes. My parents had bought one from Clayton's a year before and were treated very well. I think they take a look and make decisions up front based on assumptions.
So sad that some people are like that. Good for you. You didn’t allow them to bully you!
It is so wrong that people are so judgmental! I’m glad you found a good company. They don’t deserve your money if they treat you poorly. I agree with other people’s comments you all should send your experiences to Clayton Corporate I’m sure they do not want their potential customers treated this way.
When I went mobile home shopping I felt I was treated the same way!! Judged because of being young but they don’t know how much I make or was wanting to even put down so I took my business else where!
I feel everything you're saying. We are in the final stages of completion of our home and it has been exhausting! It is a Southern Energy Home which is part of Clayton Homes. I love the floor plan and I have to say it is a solid built home, with a few minor problems that come with transporting from Ga to FL. But the negative side is, it took 7 months to delivery and now it's 3 months to completion. It is a customized modular home. You are right, you have to keep on them! Love your videos!
Keep me posted on your progress. I’d love to see the finished product. My email is in the description box
You should send this to Clayton
I wanted to but the 2nd one took care of us and because of the respect and care they showed us I was able to create this channel into what it is becoming. I’ve let the first incident go
Ron cyrus Clayton Homes / Vanderbilt mortgage really doesn’t care. They go through sales staff like lunch breaks.
They dont give a shit about anyone.
I am so happy that everything worked out for you and your husband. I have been on the internet searching homes with Clayton Homes scared not sure where to start.
We had an interesting experience with Clayton Homes. We went to a lot that is 7 miles from our location. The gates were open, so we drove in. We looked at some homes, thinking a sales person would appear shortly. Nobody did. We found a floor plan we liked. So we went to the office to speak to someone. The doors were locked, although a vehicle was parked out front. So I called the number displayed on their banner and left a message that we were interested in a home on their lot, and left a call back number. Never got a call. Now we're looking at Deer Valley Homes, which is a bit more expensive, but better built than Clayton, and it's halfway across the state from us(Alabama). I'm not playing around with people who aren't fully vested in making a sale. I've been thru this type of crap too many times in my life, and I will never let it happen again.
I'm so glad that you found a good seller and got your home! Businesses that treat people badly deserve to go out of business. Those that treat people well deserve success.
I am soooo so glad i came across this video & truly appreciate you sharing your experience- the good the bad & the ugly. My husband & i own land and are planning on buying a manufactured home to place on it. There are many dealers out there, and we want to make sure we pick the right one. Doing the research is time consuming but the best. Clayton Homes is one of the names we've seen. Once again, a big THANK YOU!! Blessing to you and yours!!
Sorry you had to deal with such nonsense in the beginning. You gave great tips about setting expectations and to communicate! I am so great you and your husband got a great house fellow Georgian!
Thanks for your support. Your words are so encouraging 💞
Clayton appears to control the market. I was in TN visiting my mom who was encouraging me to look at possibility of buying a mobile home placed on land. They build what appears to be some fancy homes but I was looking at one for over $100k and I am talking 15 years ago and fancy looking faucets were plastic. Glad it finally worked out for you.
Its 330am and up thinking how im so tried of renting. You inspired me. Thank u!
You definitely need to tell Clayton homes about that guy. It sounds like he was completely unprofessional. The 1st time that you said you needed to deliver below Atlanta he should have said, "Oh, we cannot do that and here is the name and contact information for someone who can handle that for you. I am so sorry that we cannot help you. Let me know if we can help in any way once you contact so and so."
That would have been a professional response, but jerking you around and trying to get you to just buy in his area was low down, dirty used car salesman tactics. I was in sales and yes, you want to make the commission, but in the end you have to give a customer the service that is best for them and if that takes away your commission then oh well, at least you still have your ethics. Plus, most places will give a finder's fee or split a commission in some way in a situation like that.
That man is just a douchebag. I'm so glad that you did find hood people to help you realize your dream. 😊 I hope your home brings many years of joy!
They aren't going to believe it. I'm convinced Clayton Home Dealers don't want any business. They don't want to sell homes.
You are so right Mrs. Meadow.
I’m so glad that everything ended up working out 💪 for you.
Sorry it was rough for you in the beginning and that salesman made you feel that way. But you didn’t give up on your dream! Soooo happy that things worked out for you and your husband. ☺️
Aww thanks. I appreciate you!
@@HomesNThingsbyChristie there is always someone else who will do a better job.....I want waste my time when I see someone with attitude.. they not getting my time or money. Their just not spiritually evolve. What goes around comes around
She is a positive person and trooper not to let negative people stop her. hahahahahaha
Sometimes things have to happen a certain way for you to be moved in the right direction. I'm glad that mean ole man was rude to you. You ended up with the home of your dreams...and fully furnished at that!!! Yes God is Good All THEE time!!!
Yes! That’s exactly what happened. Just what was supposed to!
Girl, I needed this today. I'm fighting with my place now, over getting my pipes and everything put in. I had to completely blow up on them today to get what I need done. Last week was a hoilday week and I understand that. But nothing has go done. You have made me not feel so bad about blowing up on them.
I had to do that a few time. It’s your money they spending. Get your work done 😜
Kira I have the same issue. It does take a while for things to get done. Just hang in there and stay on top of them.
I'm sure trying my biggest problem right now is power. We finish putting in our power 3 weeks ago now. But we have to wait on the power company to set 2 poles and a new transformer just for our double wide. 🤦♀️ they told us 4 to 6 weeks after we past inspection. And my clayton to get the rest of stuff done. While we wait on power. Dont need to have power to pull out pipes outta the paper to be able to connect the water and sewer line. My husband spent 2 days digging our water line by hand in the rain. Just to find out no pipe to connect to. And out septic tank has been in the thrusday before Thanksgiving and the guy was even here thay was suppose to connect it and only brought down our master bathroom drain lines. 🤦♀️I dont get it.
TBH almost every Clayton I’ve been too has been overly rude or made us feel like we’re wasting their time.. I think one that we went too over 2 hours away from us was the only one we really liked (but since they’re out of state they told us they couldn’t deliver, which was disappointing but okay). We found someone about an hour away that’s not Clayton, but sells their homes that we have decided too go too. I’m so glad you found someone at Clayton who appreciated you, your business & made you feel good and happy about your choice. I think you should talk to Clayton about the location that was rude to you. People like that shouldn’t be in sales. If they can’t deliver a house that’s fine, but there was 1,000 different ways that guy could have dealt with that, and been nice, helpful & accommodating!!
It’s sad that paying customers get treated so rudely. I’m happy you found someone too ❤️
I am currently in the process of submitting an application to Clayton Homes. I've been approved for a home loan through my bank, but where I would like to live mostly have manufactured homes, so I thought I might as well buy a new one. I figured I would compare offers from lenders to see what is best for me. So far, the salesman I have seems nice. Your discussion on this topic and the whole process of your purchase has been helpful. I hope you will continue to give us more insight about the whole process leading up to your final purchase. I'm so happy to hear you did not let that awful salesman deter you away from your goal. God had this worked out for you all along. You believed, overcame, and conquered. Thanks so much.

You've given me hope that I may yet be able to build a modular home!
Your kindness, lack of resentment, toward people who treated you with less than due respect, is admirable and demonstrates true Christian charity.

Love this !!! I had a bad vibe with the man in my area ! Flat told me and my husband certain homes wasn’t in our budget without even knowing what we did for a living or anything!!! We left
God Bless You Women of God, my husband and I are starting this journey with Clayton homes in North Carolina and your testimony and journey has really helped us to prepare for what to expect and how to prepare ourselves for this journey. May God Continue To Bless You And your family. Thank you so much !!
O my so sorry to hear when I visited a Clayton homes showroom I was kind of bombarded 😬 but I will say at the end they were kind of pushy with running my credit so please keep the stories coming great video 💓
Thanks so much!
Designs4aDiva you are welcome
Hello Diva, so happy for you it show us that God will opening up doors that no man can close, have a wonderful day
Yes it does !
I hate that you felt that way, I live in Augusta and the dealership here is awful and I ended up going through a dealer in Aiken cause I didn't want to deal with them.
It aint just you and it aint just color that they make you feel discriminated against.
Did you find anyone in Aiken I'm glad you spoke about the Augusta ones
Thanks for going through your home purchasing experience. I'm sure you have been a huge help to many new home buyers.
I'm in Canada but that's not to say we get treated any better. Good for you for sticking to your guns!
Love your story it's very unfortunate that some people still judge us by the way we look or the shade of our skin I have experienced similar, at an auto dealer, had work clothes on and the color of my skin just solidified his personal assumption, I ended up getting my vehicle at another dealer , great service and treatment , my work clothes and skin shade was never a factor, I wanted to go back to the first dealer and showed him he missed a great commission. But my wife said no, don't do it.anyhoo applauds to the other Clayton's staff that received you and your family with open arms, never judging anything..just looked at a family looking to buy a home.
Amen
WOW....very interesting...I will definitely take this into consideration before dealing with this company.
Thank you so much for this! I’m considering purchasing a manufactured home so I’ve been searching TH-cam. Your honest opinion answered some questions I had and gave me the inspiration to move forward. I’m new to your channel, less than a week. But I’ve found you so helpful. Just wanted to say thanks.
I'm considering too. How's the process going for you?
@@janissem7661 other than researching I haven’t started yet. I’m planning on starting after the 1st of the year. So right now I’m still looking at the tours trying to decide what I want and what price point I want to be at.
Hello! I'm trying to find a video of your work with amazon but I dont think you have one. Could you please make one?
I retired from a 30 year sales career in sales, car sales specifically. One of my professional frustrations was how often people would deal with and buy from people who treated them badly. This is why there are so many low quality sales people - even the unprofessional ones still make sales. The unprofessional sales people know this, and even laugh about how people will put up with their insulting sales style. Like it or not, this is reflective of a side of human nature. Think about it: how often in relationships do you know about people putting up with unacceptable behavior?
I'm so happy I found your channel. I'm ecstatic for you and your family and this encouraging video is sure to help so many others persevere and keep the faith of purchasing their first home!
Welcome to the family. Let me know if I can help him
I want to thank you so much for your encouraging words. My husband and I are looking to trade in our old one for a new one and we have been dealing with Clayton Homes. Thank God, I have a little experience with selling cars and knowing how to talk with people. I am going to check out that location you used to purchased your home. I am located in Virginia. I seriously doubt if they would deliver that far, BUT GOD! Again, thank you. God Bless
I wish you well! Some people can be tough to deal with but you got this !
The clayton dealer near me closed down recently..hmm. Odd.
I've been looking for mobile homes for a couple weeks. Talked to 3 here in the Chatta Area. Not all Clayton homes dealers are the same. Every talked to a north Georgia dealer and will not talk to them again. Our journey has just begun. Thank you for your informative information. Never really noticed you folding clothes. And learned alot.
I’ve recently spoken to a salesman in the north Georgia location also was VERY dry and seemed like he was not interested in answering my questions until I get approved. So I went and called the Clayton homes in Anniston, Al she was so HELPFUL send me a video of the home and gave me her cell number and she answered everything made it very reassuring for me to get the home. Thank you for telling your story.
Thanks sister for sharing your experience. We live in North Alabama and trying to move back to our property in central Alabama. We already have a manufactured home that was damaged somewhat by a tornado, we have a big family and my husband is now in a wheelchair so we really need more space. Since we already have a home there I'm praying the process won't be as challenging. I've talked to the Clayton homes in Greenville, Alabama and I'm not sure how I felt about the sells woman I spoke with but something was off. I might try to reach out to the one in Opelika. I have my family binge watching all your videos 😂 I'm so thankful for the time and effort you put in your videos. Agape 💙
It is a fortune to move in a trailer. Water, electric, plumbing, land, and septic tank are not covered by Clayton Homes. Plus you have to buy loads of clay so they can make a moisture barrier to place home on. Think and add ahead before looking for a mobile home.
Thank you so much!!! I am just starting the process of looking for a manufactured home in North Georgia and Clayton In Dalton is on my list to visit. I appreciate hearing your experience.
Update please
I did look at Clayton but decided on a Kabco home which I bought from Payless Homes in Dalton.
Good for you! That's a good take away lesson that I believe we can all benefit from: stay oriented in the direction you are called because despite the enemies interference you will prevail. With God all things are possible. Thank you for sharing your journey. My husband and I are considering purchasing a manufactured home and your videos have been very informative. I didn't search you out, you popped up on my feed. No such thing as a coincidence 😉 God bless! Xoxo

Thank you for sharing your testimony, you’ve saved a lot of people from pain and heartache! Enjoy your new home😊!!!
I’ve been watching all of your videos the past couple of days. My boyfriend and I are looking into getting a manufactured home. Your videos are so informative. I’m glad everything worked out, so sorry you had to experience such terrible customer service!
Thanks so much. Yes it worked out and I’m happy about too. I wish you well on your home buying journey. It was our best decision ever!
Funny our mobile home came from Atlanta and came all the way to Oklahoma. This was 12 years ago. Unfortunately the company Indes Mobile Homes had since declared bankruptcy. Ours was the last home they built and they used every last piece of cabinetry, insulation, flooring, and hardware and put it all in our home. Ours is a 2000 sq foot modular home and I love it still. my husband passed away 4 years after we bought it so I ramble around in it all by myself but It was a huge undertaking.. and imagine even building a house? All those permits, all those details? I’m happy right where I’m at. Good luck with yours. Have a blessed day😊❤️
Thank you, thank you , thank you! You have supported all of us that are interested in purchasing a manufactured home.
Thanks so much. That’s the intent so I appreciate you
I love this. The topic doesn't matter. So real. She's a safe person to be near. I can see your heart.
Your really a beautiful person. I did enjoy your story time. God bless you. Thank you for your kind and considerate advice. I'm helping my handicap father downsize from a site built home to a manufactured home. I appreciate what you share. 💕💕💕
Thank you for your honesty and encouragement. We are looking into Clayton homes but are considering other companies also.
Do have a update video on how the home is working out for you?
We lost our home to a fire in March... watching video walk through lately and they brag so much about Clayton homes and how great they are. Im so thankful I found this video... Thank you so much
I've been following you for a while and I noticed that you have lost a tremendous amount of weight. Congratulations!
As a former personal trainer, I'd like to give you a tip.
To minimize saggy skin, wear Lycra spandex (tops & bottoms) to compress the skin and allow the body and the connective tissues support in adjusting to a smaller frame.
Drink plenty of water and use moisturizing lotions all over. The same thing you'd do after childbirth or a tummy tuck.
Thanks for the tip. I sure will !!!
Dee InSearchOf do you have an IG account
Dee InSearchOf Thank you 🙏🏾
It was wonderful to hear that you found a Clayton Home dealer that took wonderful care of you. I have recently taken the position of Service Manager for a dealership. Our standards are as the Alabama standards. I also had purchased a home from our dealership about 3 years ago so I know the quality of service by my company. I want to apologize on behalf of our company that you had such a horrible experience. Thank you so much for not giving up and allowing us to put you in a home.😊
Thank you for sharing your experience in finding your new home.
I'm so glad you came into the awareness of the experience .
When I get a person in sale who doesn't treat me right I walk away😀
You better know it!!! Thank you !
All disappointment is not for the worse but for the best. You're a great woman. God bless you. I love your house. Happy holidays
Thanks so much. I appreciate you 💋
Happy for the process my fiance and I are currently going through. Our consultant has been the absolute nicest and is in contact with us. I'm in Tx
I’m looking into Clayton Homes Now. That’s how I found you. Thank you 😊
Loved this! But honey make your life easier. Put a close rod in your laundry room and as soon as your dryer shuts off take your clothes out one piece at a time, put it on a hanger, hang on rod and continue until everything is hung up. Then take and put into closets. Fold socks and underwear, put in drawers and you’re done! If I put the clothes in a clothes basket they would never get put up! I own one tall dirty clothes basket. When its full, I do laundry. I can have everything washed, dried, folded and hung up in less than two hours. Just a laundry hack that I hope helps make your life easier!
I have read several reviews of Clayton not honoring their warranties. Or being forced to. And quality being low. Things breaking or peeling even cabinets. I hope you have no future problems and that your home lasts in good shape for many years as one should be able to expect a new home to last. Best wishes.
Thanks so much. Clayton has been great. They have honored everything they said they would. Unfortunately every experience is not like mine but they have proved to me that they stand behind their word
@@HomesNThingsbyChristie Thank you. I hope their product quality is good also. If you don't mind my asking, which model did you choose?
So sorry for the experience you had with that first salesman! Sometimes we have to go through the storm to appreciate and enjoy the sunshine! God bless you and your husband. My husband and I have been watching your tours and love your input, information, and excitement. Keep them coming!
Good for you for standing up for yourself! There are too many bad salespeople that can't look past a person's color of skin or clothing they wear. Time for us to take the power from them like you have and give it to the good salespeople. Thank you for recognizing the person that actually helped you.
Mobile Home Diva was the delivery expensive? Did they hook up all the outside things like sewage, water, and electricity?
I appreciate your videos so much. I’m so sorry about the first experience you had with Clayton homes. I’m glad the one in Alabama was amazing!
At least you got the chance to look at them.i was told that I couldn’t tour because it takes away from people that are ready to purchase.not knowing if I was purchasing or not.so I asked for his card and he preceded to tell me he didn’t have one.so I called his boss and he said I’m sorry,he’s been talk to about this, but he’s a great guy.this happened in Asheville no.
Oh my! That is terrible. I am so sorry this happened to you
How much was it to deliver it and install it and is 66,000 enough ?? To be able to do everything
So glad you had a much better experience at the Opelika location. Sounds like they really know how to treat their customers. I feel better about buying from Clayton homes now. As for the other location, Clayton Corporate needs to change or retrain the people there or let them go to another job where don't have to deal with people. No telling how many people they have treated like that. Costing Clayton Homes money and leaving buyers feeling like they can't trust Clayton.
So sorry you went through that. Nobody should ever be treated that way. But so happy you are such a strong lady and didn’t give up. ♥️
Yes and it paid off😜
Designs4aDiva it sure did! We’re on God’s time and he was looking out for y’all. It was meant to be, sometimes I don’t see blessings until they happen.
We are in the process of getting our home from Clayton homes we are moving on a 14 acre property located in between Fort Worth and Abilene. We had to go to Clayton homes in Abilene because they don’t deliver more than 100 miles away from the home center. We are getting The Cabin, it’s our 1st experience with a manufactured home our other 2 purchases have been traditional built homes in Houston. We are excited but also realistically expecting some hiccups hopefully it will all work out in the end like yours did.
Thanks so much. We are going for a second purchase (first one 15 years ago) we felt that we weren't present then. You have truly motivated me to make sure I get what I want. I can't thank you enough God bless.
Good for you. Can’t wait to hear what you get 👍🏽😜❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.. I'm researching now because I love the price and the look of these homes. They are affordable and they seem from what I've been reading safe. So thanks again for your detailed information about the Clayton homes.
Well it seems like everyone had some sort of issue with Clayton Homes. I recently purchased a home from them. My husband and I were notified less than 24 hours before we were set to go to closing that our home was placed in the wrong location and needed to be moved and would need to be moved. It took another 3 weeks for everything to be taken care of and for us to move in.Even after we moved in we still had so many issues that needed to be resolved.
I got to say that I'm proud of how you dealt with all of that. Bless your heart! Good luck with everything!
You should never been treated like that. Shame on them. Thank you for the good information.
Hello
How do you feel about these types of walls? I’m not sure I’ll take care of them correctly. I’m looking into Clayton right now.
30,000 😳 what unbelievable
We're looking in to Clayton homes in fact on the 13 in South Carolina
We ended up with a Hamilton Home, it’s a newer manufacturer. Setup is taking longer than expected... the weather hasn’t cooperated. 😬The dealer we bought from was thankfully really good.
I’m excited for you. I’m familiar with Hamilton Homes too! Seems like the weather never cooperates when you want to get some stuff done 😂
Locust Grove is not South Georgia. It's just south of Atlanta.
Credit scores will soon be a thing of the past. Great video. Thank you for sharing your experience.
We are in GA also. We are looking at Clayton Homes as an option. Looks like we will be traveling to AL if we choose Clayton.
Please do. They are so nice. Selina Lee was my salesperson. She is awesome
You are my soulmate with the laundry folding! I usually use out of the clean pile, LOL!
I'm starting to feel like we are friends.
I will second your other subscriber asking for more single wides. Where I want to live the max is a 16 wide. I really like the ones, which seem to be few setup wise, that have the kitchen/dinning on the right end with the living room in the middle and all the bedrooms at the other end of the trailer. I don't mind all the bedrooms at the same end. Just my preferences. The more I watch the videos the more I think I will want to order the mobile I want the way I want it. I'm not one to settle. If I'm going to pay the price I want what want.
Keep up the good work 👍😉
I sure will. I’ll post one tonight 12 am 👍🏽
I agree!
Glad everything worked out for you and family. Would be nice if you give a tour of your home, how much hookups cost and the land. Thanks for sharing your experience. Im looking and not sure i would buy a clayton home.
We also had the worse experience with clayton in Tallahassee FL. We could not work with another dealer only the one in my area. We have own a home before and it only took use a month or 2 to move in. It took us over a year to get in our home. It There so many excuses why things were not done in a timely manner..Please find another dealer if you can. Don't go to Clayton in Tallahassee
I know it’s been a few months but I wanted to say that I’m so happy you eventually got what you wanted. Never loose hope is what I say. Hope you are settled in and enjoying your new home.
Yes and we love it. Thanks for your encouragement ❤️
Thank you sooo much for sharing! I’m currently in the process of purchasing the Huxton home. I live in Louisiana... when you spoke of the loan company with them ridiculous offers! A lot less then what’s needed with a 24,000 down payment.. ridiculous!!! My sales person/ and the Manager are amazing, this is my first time as well .. so I’m currently waiting on other loan companies... with a more reasonable offer.. I really appreciate you mam! You give great great information.
How long did the process take?
Sorry that happened to you and so glad you made this video!
Thanks lady love. Hope your well
Do not feel as if you are the only ones; my family is white; and I used to live in the Central part of Missouri. LOTS of country folk, very rural. The Clayton Mobile Home dealership in the area at the time had at least one rep who was very prejudiced against anyone who lived in the country, or even in rural small towns.
It seems that no matter your color or even income level; to this rep, we were all inbred hill billy trailer trash. How do I know this? We HEARD the rep working with them, call us that when they were going over the loan documents in a back office, and they didn't think we could hear them. Some people should never be in sales or customer service.
My mom wanted to leave right then because my parents were hard working country people who had a decent credit score, and it REALLY upset her; but my dad wouldn't leave. He kept telling her 'Its not us they are talking about." Yeah, he could be pretty stubborn and deliberately clueless when presented with out right prejudice; I think he thought that by ignoring it, it would go away.
My mom called corporate, and when they went to sign the final sale documents, the rep who had been working with them, had been replaced. The staff there, who were helping them close the deal. kept asking what else they could do to help them. They were bending over backwards to make this as smooth as possible for the closing and delivery.
When my Dad asked why, he was point blank told it was due to the previous reps attitude towards country people;
and my Dad said " I didn't see any or hear any prejudice form him. " My mother could have back handed him at that time. *LOL*
( i.e. 'back handed' -- figure of speech, people! Its a family thing; my granny, who had 13 kids; when she got fed up with everyone, would start telling them she "would back hand them all into next week!" if they didn't settle down; they would all settle down after that was said; they done knew they had pushed her to her limits; so, my mom never hit my dad; its just something we would say!)
The reason the lady from the other dealership was apologizing for what the other rep had told and treated you, is that customer service is a BBIIGG issue with any type of large business like that. It only takes one bad rep to spoil the customer's experience, and take it from someone who has been in business and in customer service most of my adult life, that one bad experience expands exponentially, just like a good customer experience can also expand exponentially.
Businesses know that the better they treat customers, the better their reviews, the more customers come to them, expecting good treatment. Good on Clayton Mobile homes in Alabama helping you. And I am so happy you have a lovely home, and happy you shared your experience.
Was the installation and foundation price additional and up front? Or will they add that to your mortgage? My fiancé and I are going today to look at Clayton homes and I feel like a nervous wreck!!
Hi Hollye, the only thing up front was earnest money and down payment. Everything else was included in the total of the house. You will be fine😜 and your going to enjoy the home tours. Relax. You got this !
The earnest money as after we were approved , and everything was in motion. It can be anywhere from 500-1000’here in Georgia. Then we paid the down payment at closing
Designs4aDiva Designs4aDiva wow thank you for your reply! That really helps, we live pretty close to georgia so hopefully our experience with just the purchasing and building goes as well as yours. Really appreciate you sharing your experience! So helpful.
Also I’m so sorry for the negative part of your experience! So glad you got your home though
We went to Clayton homes in Opelika Alabama. They are awesome
I am in the process of looking for a manufactured home and property. I appreciate your words of wisdom and good attitude. Many Blessings.
