I actually had to go and google it because I thought I was going mad and I thought surely he can’t get that basic opening wrong😂 and I mean that in the best possible way!

And there are only 5 destroyers in the battle, not 3 per team. lol
@@davidevans6755 check the tech tree. The first three ships after the split, Minekaze, Hatsuharu, and Shiratsuyu, have the same characteristics descriptions as the ones up to T5 (high torpedo alpha, low detectability, slow rate of fire). The characteristics only change with Akizuki. Only that is when the gunboat line begins. Just because a tree splits doesn't necessarily mean that the ships in the branches differ from the ones before the split. With the IJN DD line, basically every one up to and including T7, is pretty much the same thing: good torps, good concealment, slow and hard hitting 127mm guns.
love a win-by-kills game where exactly three ships of the winning team get any kills and two of those get 11 out of the 12. SupCom and the heinrich were carrying this game hard (though the emerald, if nobody else, did pull their weight).

As far as the Emerald is concerned, sometimes the best thing a tier 5 can do in a tier 7 battle is to quote RDJ in Tropic Thunder "Survive." If you do that, well done.
Or suicide rush like I do , then head back to port and pick another ship
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Best RTS game I've ever played, one of the few games I've played through more than 10 times, having a blast each time. Such a power trip, and endless ways of trying out new tactics.

It's still a living game! There's a couple of channels that have new Forged Alliance Forever replays every week or so.

8:20 I'm just surprised it hasn't been me *yet*. I'm massively inconsistent, so I can absolutley have a (probably boring to watch) 200k+ game with more medals than a North Korean general, and then next game, I'm the reason some other guy gets first blood and devastating strike.

I've been in a Flamu stream once, on the opposition team, without realizing until later. Watched the stream afterwards, and quite enjoyed him ranting against his team's BBs "camping", while in reality I kept them pinned with my (unspotted) destroyer. But yes, we're all afraid to one day end up on the wrong side of an epic replay. ;-)
It really does happen to everyone sometimes though - I once spotted an Hindenberg, mid turn at the begining of a battle, hit him with all my shells from an Izumo, double citadel and all but dev struck him, few salvos later and he went down, only when I got to the results screen did I realise it was Trenlass :-)!
Well, it's like my grandfather used to say: sometimes you get the elevator, and sometimes you just get the shaft.
I think Akizuki's a good judge of character regardless.

At this point I'm positive he's doing it deliberately. Every 'mistake' he makes generates a flurry of comments, likes, an algorithm boost and subsequent exposure.

Supreme also did a spectacular job avoiding all the nonsense that the enemy carrier sent his way while he was closing in for the kill!
The carrier wasn't that good, but that's to be expected. Few players know how to use cvs, or fight against them.
I spy with my eye that despite Jingles ragging on about the Shiratsuyu's AA firepower (or lack thereof), supreme commander got the highest number of aircraft shot down at the end of the game. On his team, at least. (lol at 50 planes shot down by one of the enemy Gneisenau)
Yeah, that's just Jingles' blinding hatred for anything cv. Thing is, if you have a ship with good AA stats, and you boost those with skills and equipment, you can make a cv player's day a lot worse. I've had entire flights of planes blown out of the sky by a single destroyer, by regular AA alone, no flak. But you need to build for that, and few people do.

Supreme commander is such a gem, it's a shame they stopped at forged/2.
The studio that developed them was bought by WG. Now it is their NA branch
You might enjoy Plannetary Annihilation (2014), it's a successor to Total Annihilation which is what Supreme Commander was based on.
I haven't played it in forever though, just thought I'd suggest it.

I like how you can see that SupremeCommander knew what he could do best for his team in order to win and he did it. The same thing can be said for the Fiji, the Emerald (despite considerable risk) and although it was hard to see their perspective the P. Heinrich. It wasn't a thirst for damage numbers or glory that won this match. It was methodical patience and an understanding of the role and limitations of each ship.

Been playing Supreme Commander ever since it released. Even played its predecessor Total Annihilation. Still play SupCom with a couple friends with the Forged Alliance Forever mod. When WG took over Gas Powered Games in 2013, I had better hopes for the future of the company back then. Kind of sad how the company has changed since then.

The Emerald was shooting blind over the island at the Fiji probably useing the aiming circle on his minimap to guide his fire. Fiji did really well - 4 kills and nearly carried the team out..
Yeah, his mistake at the end was to hide behind the island knowing he was being tracked. He might have pulled it off if he headed to the corner of the map.. maybe.

No fricking way, I didn’t think jingles knew what supreme commander was, but the real questions is do you know know what Battle stations midway/Pacific was, I grew up on those games, real shame they kinda died down

It's funny, this ship on pc has a 7+ second reload but the console version got buffed a couple of patches ago and has a 5 sec reload. Pretty sure you can get it lower too.

- the Yudachi was spottet by Hydro, within the smoke
- Fiji was spotted as you can clearly tell by the changing position of "last spotted"

Got to say I love how you talk to your cat. I would do the same thing with my dogs and cats over the years. Just carry on a conversation like they're humans. Hell, I even do it with the neighborhood cats, even if they don't let me pet them.
Maybe it's why they like me so much? Who knows.

playing aircraft carrier in world of warships is about as demanding as playing planes in warthunders ground RB. its storymode.

Jingles I beg of you, with both World of Warships and Supreme Commander being my top 2 favorite games, please do a video on Supreme Commander. The giant Naval battles that break out in that game are amazing to watch!

In defense of the New Orleans, I'd guess what he was thinking was that his DDs were going to screen with smoke and his BB was going to commit. In defense of the Yudachi, he didn't sail out of smoke it was caught by Heinrich's hydro.

I beg to differ Jingles, the Emerald is a big destroyer rather than a light cruiser. I still found the Lenader to be a let down after her. Try not to get spotted, use your smoke and the phenomenal manouverabilty as well as those nasty, nasty torpedoes. Limited range but the single fire, oh you can troll with that so well! "Here's one ahead of you, here's one for if you slow down and hey, here's the rest somewhere in between. Have fun!"
I may or may not have had a significant amount of fun with that ship. Well, fun for me but that's what counts, right? :D

Ahh, the Shiratsuyu. My once most-played non-premium destroyer, mother of my nearly-21-skill captain. Sadly, what made her good, was not allowed to stand, namely, that she was the ONLY proper torpedoboat (in the gunboat line, yes) with smoke AND reload booster. I believe she would still not be overpowered these days, what with her slow reload, short range, low HP, snail-like speed and all, but WeeGee took a pint of vodka, looked at the spreadsheet and said "нет!". Then they tried to lure us in by offering the Yudachi, which could still to that party piece, but with worse torpedoes, worse concealment and worse gun reload. I got Yudachi, and am okay with her, but I still mourn the old Shiratsuyu. My captain graduated to the Yugumo and is a lot happier there.
And speaking of the video: Jingles, the Yudachi did not accelerate out of her smoke screen, she got picked up by the Heinrich's hydro, so she had no chance at all.
As an aside regarding the video: The Hatsuharu USED to have five guns, too, on her A hull, so she was not necessarily outgunned by the Shiratsuyu. If you gave her a captain with the survivability expert skill, you could play her as a funny little gunboat, as her A hull could not accomodate the long-range torpedoes. Guess what? We got another "нет!" from WeeGee.
Jingles, I know you are busy at the moment but have you noticed the dinosaur game 'The Isle' is out on Steam Early Access for the price of 3 pints (or 1 in London)

I wouldn't be surprised if I were in an episode or two of your videos...
I don't really count short gun range as a downside on anything other then a BB. On DDs and Cruiser a short range can be an advantage. If you are disengaging it is easier to go dark even if firing since you have the short range. It always allows you to harass enemies easier without being seen. You can fire at you max range in front of a enemy and just keep staying out of sight. You can do the same with longer range guns, but you can more ability to move around if the ranges are short.

Hey Jingles, you've got to throw us some kind of bone here. A spotlight's a spotlight regardless of whether it's a glamorous lime green or s*it brown. The legacy of being mentioned in one of your videos is a dream of ours. However I'm not any of those players, so I don't know how they feel about being in the s*it brown spotlight.

I have fond memories of the shiratsuyu, such as the time I got 3 double strikes in one battle with her.
Between the title and the thumbnail, I will confess to no small amount of confusion....
It wasn't really a fiasco when Jingles mentioned it at ~6:40, because they'd only lost the NO and had kept Green team from capping A. Whereas Green team had already lost almost half their ships...
