It's worth noting that if you're in that room by the centipede with the trap in it, you can run around the trap and keep the centipede spinning in circles while it dies on the trap without hitting you.

I've had great success as barb, just run a circle around it making sure you're always on the side when it attacks, I just hold a and leftclick with any 2 handers and you take 0 dmg, im sure it would work even better with a faster weapon. As barb I can kill the centipede in about 10 seconds with no cheese i
I was playing Fighter and snuck down a corridor turning off all the torches thinking I was mr stealth. That damn thing jumpscared tf out of me, was hidden in an alcove and all I heard was it's freaky sounds and saw these yellow glowing eyes coming at me, I just backed up with my shield raised shook and the moment I was in the light and lowered it to look, it pounced at me and killed me instantly. One of the most interesting enemies, that's the only encounter I've had

I love how that blue portal came up at 6:30 immediately after you killed the other barb. It’s like it was waiting for a victor 🤣

this has happened to me twice now which is crazy i felt the same way
The portals will always spawn inside the white circle on the map, and they will always spawn when the zone starts to move in. In goblin caves the tiny circle as seen at 12:15 on the map is the exact spot the portal will spawn as soon as the zone begins to move in again.
It's not guaranteed iirc
@@zaffromstatefarm I think in the Goblin Caves the final circle always has a final portal, though sometimes it spawns on a completely different floor and feels like it's missing.
@gungy_vt yeah I had that happen where I was in the last circle and I heard the portal pop up but it was on another floor and I couldn't get to it

A green houndskull is a lot better then silver barbuta in terms of AR, and with such high armor every additional point is golden. Just a tip, dont mind me

For those wondering, the guaranteed extract seems to open from 4 minutes left and after, but more than likely at about 3:30-2 minutes remaining

Edit: Also, many of you pointed out that you can simply circle the centipede while attacking it and staying as close as possible to avoid taking any damage. I learned this one from you all and it's been crazy helpful for taking down the centipedes ❤
you also went the long way around there was the ramp up to the exit right next to you. which i feel you failed to cover. map knowledge.
Okay everyone, so ill let you in on a bit of what i figured out. Theres always 4 portals that come up in goblin cave, the last one comes realllyy late but ALWAYS pops up right in the middle of where the smallest white circle goes, and that shit gets me out everytime. You just have to prepare for it coming up on a different level in certain spots.

Yeah I was wondering how many portals come up in Goblin Caves. Is it random every time? I just counted 5 on one of my last games I think. The Stairs are my favorite exit for sure. @@comradeq2493

For the centipedes, Keep them close! If you go more than a few meters, they do that annoying spit attack, their melee is extremely easy to jump to the left or right of to dodge. It also has a warmup for you to see it, you can bash it as you walk backwards and kill it easy

awesome video and nice tips, maybe i have one for you: for the centipede you just need run around it in a circle (using a and d) and attack, sometimes it hits me with the projectile, but in >95% of tries i dont even get hit once :D
I found that hanging out in the top floor in gobbos is the best not only I feel like more blues spawn there but also you have the gate exit as last resort
Plus it's a lot easier to jump down to find portals if needed than find ways back up
@@sqoo5 This is a real reason. And it's better to be above another player than have another player above you. some of the mid and lower floor rooms do have the loot tho, notably the caster corner.

Fun tip on rock centipede, you can get it stuck on the torch he sits next to allowing you to crouch under every attack for safe kill.

Like everyone said it's better to circle the centipede, but the standing on top of things cheese works for gobbos and other mobs pretty well.
@@kballsforever the centipede i mainly just run laps around him after reading everyones comments on that haha i just have issues avoiding the poison, but when i have 2-3 goblins on me jumping on top of something is nice :D
I believe a portal spawns when there are 2 grey bars of time left above the map. I think at 11:14 when you see a circle land on where there is only one level of floor, you can perhaps just stay there and wait for it.

Great vid, still there are two basic hints i can give you, one its use the DARK, you can heal with bandages hidden in darkness to not get ambushed, and if you are going stealth mode, take out the potions from the belt, they can be seen

Spending some time on Goblin Cave focusing on finding players and practicing PVP is vital for surviving against multiple players in the other dungeon. Fighting mobs vs fighting players is a huge difference and there's so many ways you can fight other players. Including using mobs against them. Also if you see mobs fighting players you can use buffs and healing on the mobs lol
I love how you mention making enemies in the lobby. I hunt down anyone who socks me in my jaw.

Pretty sure a 4th portal spawns right at the end, always inside the final circle, basically free exit if you are the last one standing

12:50 this exact spot you are standing. fun fact if you just crouch none of his attacks can hit you. it lowers where he is going to be attacking towards and either hits between your legs missing you, or just below you entirely.

Just picked up the game last night and even a month in the future, this video actually does help... I've lost every time mostly due to monsters and the fair share of people but I'm enjoying it nontheless. I also had to find out via watching this that I've been passing up sooo much loot, currently learning the goblin cave area, I wasn't using barb until I saw this and I'm actually liking the way the Barb works over fighter/rogue which are the 2 I've been swapping between while learning things, probably not a good idea to swap between mutliple classes but hey noob me gotta do noob things.
This is awesome to read! I'm really glad the vid helped. I'd recommend checking out some of Ryan6DaysAWeek videos as well. He uploads more regularly and I learn a lot from him. The game has been updated to offer a lot more valuable items from merchants, and they reset regularly, so make sure to scan them for good items every few matches. On barb you want to go for all attributes, agility, and strength primarily. The agility is important to help you move and attack much faster. Good luck in there!
@@kballsforever I'm really enjoying the game right now, even though I haven't been able to escape one time yet in my some 20 odd games or so in even just goblin cave because I keep doing stupid things, atm I'm playing solo but will be playing with people better than me hopefully soon so I can learn a bit more that way. Also I will 100% be checking out that channel! This game is a breath of fresh air in comparison to what I've been doing the last few months.
@@RaqRedOX how are you playing now? i bought the game a couple days ago and have escaped 3 times as well as another 2 times with my buddy, it was luck every time. neither of us have killed a soul yet though lol

8:00 you mean counterclockwise! Couple of tips you can add, there is a guaranteed staircase, that you can see on the map at 12:30, that you could have escaped from. It opens every time, at different times, a static exit for only 1 player, then it gets blocked off. Additionally, there is a guaranteed blue portal to spawn in the last tiny circle, which is the one you almost escaped from at 12:43.
Exactly what I thought, I'm pretty sure that he couldve survived at 12:30 by going straight to the staircase... :/

and another thing is that there is always 4 portals in the goblin caves. meaning if you see a 4 man team up u better make it to a portal or kill 1 of them
the room with the centipede in it has a door that exits the cave without a portal. Can only be used once per match so if someone gets it before you you're SOL. But it's saved me countless times from final circle with no portal in sight

The centipede is more of a dps check for poison than something you need to cheese. The melee hit is super short range and can be back pedaled out of by any class

aditional info: in goblin cave there is 4 blue portal + escape ladders. that means, if you read in the top right 5 people escape. Its gg for you. Remember there is 11 players. 10 + you
Great information - I don't think it shows when people escape but that's still good to know.
There's only 10 total, so it would be 9 + you. It doesn't say when people escape but it does say when people die. If there are 5 names in the kill feed, then everyone can get out.
the best step to start making money in dark and darker is convincing your friends to buy it so you can queue up with others 💀💀

Thanks! Longsword can be very good depending on the skill of the player using it. Fighter is great with gear but very vulnerable to magic.

The full ruby plate was sotrash stat roll wise. I mean dude probably bought it for cheap and his shrine/portal ineract speed is insane.
The centipede is a lot easier to fight by just strafing around it in circles than standing on top of something. I've done it on a Cleric consistently, so i can't imagine a barbarian can't as well.

For the centipede you just have to do circles arround him whle attacking, so easy. Better than getting in top of a barrel
Zweihander is great against centipedes and large amounts of goblins, however its useless in tight corridors...
if you increase you str or say max hp temporarily does that effectively heal you because of it? so when max goes back you still keep what you gained so long as it's below your normal max hp?
It adds a percentage of hp, and when that percentage goes back down you would have effectively lost less hp.

You should go to the guildhall you can find teams there! It's hit and miss sometimes but it's better than being solo

You got it! I've been rolling that setup with a buffball team (barb, cleric, wizard) and the survival rate is very high. Give it a shot if your friends are down.

idk ive run 20+ goblin raids and that room never spawns anything for getting out. above, bellow and middle. nothing just a huge FU from the devs after surving the whole raid
Love the vid and have had a lot of success running the build you've suggested. However, I've been wondering if the skill 'Carnage' might be better off being changed to one of the other offensive perks instead (When playing Solo's) and would like to hear your thoughts on it. As it stands, you gain +10 STR after killing an enemy which can be useful when clearing mobs and the rare times when you kill a mob before an encounter with another player, but overall it isn't providing too much value when in solos. I feel like 'Berserker' might be a better option in this scenario as it takes advantage of Warcry and the Robust perk, but have considered taking Two-hander, Axe specialist or Executioner instead. I can definitely see the value of 'Carnage' when in squads though as the increased strength when fighting multiple enemies would be a pretty nice boost.
Yes, swapping out Carnage is a good idea. I've moved away from using it entirely. Iron Will is extremely strong, and I use that instead. Axe Specialization, Executioner, Savage, and Berserker are all great options too. I've also switched to Rage and Warcry because they both scale your HP and you can easily be buffed to 250+ HP for a few seconds with a bit of strength or +HP gear. The extra movespeed and damage from Rage is way too good to overlook, although Achilles Strike is also still very strong.

@@TheNarrater If you play solos into groups, you're way braver than I am. With the current state of the game and how strong bard comps are, you're going to have a rough time. That said, I'd probably still roll Smash, Iron Will, Morale Boost, and Robust with Rage and Warcry as skills. Make sure to bring a gear with tons of agility and focus on controlling buff shrines or you're gonna get kited hard.
My favorite part of any close range PvP game is hearing people say things like "I want more people to play the game!" but then seeing obviously newer players and just turning them into ground beef in less then 2 seconds.
I know it is just good players being good, but its always brings me a good laugh
Now that the queues are separated by level, that's much less of a problem. It's probably the best change they've ever made. The lvl 15+ lobbies feel great.

Thanks! I think the game is in a pretty good place balance-wise, but barbarian is a strong starter class since they have such a high health pool. Barbarian is also the king of gobbo caves.

Can you parry and feint like in chivalry 1 and 2?
There is no feinting, but there is a form of parrying with the longsword. The hitboxes are pixel perfect though so footwork and movement is important.
Bro the centipede can be easily baited and strafed. Stay up close to bait it's melee attack and strafe left and right. You don't need to hop on a pot or barrel to beat it.

A guy joined goblin caves in full plate knight mode, kitted out with multiple potions and bandages, luck potion etc.. Found his body surrounded by 3 others.. All unlooted with just a goblin slinger nearby lmao..I looted it all and of course... I didn't make it out and someone else got an entire inventory full of good loot lol

Why dont you take the shout that gives you strength and movementspeed, isnt that generally better for barb because of his slow movespeed?
not really because, even though it gives movement most enemies can still outrun you. and have the added strenght is not that good when u can instead slow your enemies and for most players fear ai away whilst u fight someone. (meaning achilles heel and the fear shout)
@@jimi6505Yes, the fear shout (savage roar) can be really nice if you're new. I used to take that and rage (str movespeed shout), but have found that war cry (hp shout) is generally better for winning pvp. Rage is good for running down loot pinatas with your fists but that's about it 😂
I doo feel like if you're going to run certain equipment you should be forced to highrole with it. Im tired of my level 3 fighter with a sword that does 2 more damage then base going against fully stacked players.

Is there a reason you always look at your enemy sideways during a fight? Is it harder for them to hit your head or is it faster than walking backwards or something?
walking backwards is better unless ur cornered and literally cannot walk backwards. take everything this guy says with a grain of salt he literally uses achiles strike and didnt know about the gob caves non blue portal extract

@@goten3965 wdym, you move faster if you're only pressing w, moving the mouse is much safer than relying on holding s to walk backwards, especially out of an attack recovery. there's also just a ton of things you can outmaneuver with your camera movement-- a lot of things you'd learn in chiv or mordhau very vaguely carry over in this respect

@@goten3965 I point out that extract in this very video. Walking backwards is slower than strafing. Take the S key off your keyboard 😂 Besides, moving sideways helps tank blows with your arms, which results in less damage taken.

It can be hard to maintain patience when playing rogue and using invisibility. Sometimes it seems like you've got the drop and can go for it but sometimes it's better to wait and let players, especially groups, pass by

Yes the lawsuit is still going on, buy the game if you want just know that all your endeavors may be fruitless if/when nexon wins.
Korean law favors corporations and IM defense is really shaky, trying to claim they didnt steal/keep the codes from nexon and when asked to show their serves, which they signed and agreed to, they claimed they deleted everything but then release a game "similar" to nexons.
At the end of the day, they are still getting sued, so tread cautiously and if you do "grind" know it will be for nothing if the court rules in favor of nexon.
Edit: This game is constantly going through fixes so good luck playing with an ever changing meta, a guide made today is outdated the following hour lmao
