Trish, where can I go to find out about root rot in Hippeastrums. A video, or a book you can recommend, or something to teach me how to properly. are for hippies. I thought your video clips were precise and made sense with my gardening knowledge, (sensible). I have been away and have come back to rotten bulbs. It's wet in Victoria at the moment 😢 Any advice would be appreciated. Dorothy

Yes. They can rot from too much rain. Drench with Yates antirot. They can also rot due to lily caterpillars eating away at the bulb. Spray with Yates success or dipel if you see caterpillars. Thirdly, when you plant them, make sure they are planted proud or the soil...at least 1/3 out of the ground. Did you see my video on clivia rot? Same problem with those.
