I'm always impressed at your English vocabulary. I don't understand how you can get this just from school. Also, I think you will look back on these years with wonder and fondness, so enjoy as much as you can.
I can guarantee you that she learned only a small part of her English in school, if she attended an average school. You can achieve that level of English only with additional exercises, watching films, talking to others in English (online) etc. 😊😊
It's wonderful hearing your positivity about your new home! You sound more than OK, and I think you'd make a welcome addition anywhere you choose to live! Thank you for the update.
Japan has cat cafe (good for therapeutic "decompression" of the people living in a high-population-density city.) Maybe someone after visiting Georgia brought the idea of cat cafe to Japan.
So glad that you've adjusted to life in Georgia, you deserve it. When I look back on your Vlogs from Russia the difference is totally amazing. May your days get better and better and your happiness have no end. ❤❤
So happy to see you in a new place and in such a healthy state. Belive it or not , l caught you smiling ... and that made me happy , be safe , be well.
Happy to see you and hear about your experience. You made me curious about Georgian food now. I have to check out whether I can get it somewhere around me. I hope you find things to do in order not to get borred and to raise your selfesteem. Have a great time and enjoy spring! Greetings from Germany!
I'm sure that everyone is happy that you are happy and settled in! Some of those places looked amazing. Good luck and I hope we herar from you again soon.
Hello! I wish you the best and I love critters like you do. My cats have literally saved my life more than once as they have healing power. Be safe! 🙂🌺🌻🏵🇺🇸
Greetings from the USA. The Republic of Georgia is my dream holiday destination. Just everything about it seems fascinating and beautiful. I’m glad you are enjoying it!
I enjoyed your update of your life in Georgia. You seem to be happy there. The food sounds scrumptious! Cilantro is a strong herb, but when used in certain dishes it complements the flavor. For example, here's how I make my own salsa. I chop up several ripe juicy tomatoes. (Good whole canned tomatoes work well and use the juice.) I chop up a large garlic clove, a few scallions, half an Anaheim pepper, a mild jalapeno pepper, and a small bunch of cilantro. Blend them all together then squeeze some lime juice and mix again. I eat my salsa with scoop chips, but any salty chips or crackers will do. If you can find all these ingredients, give it a try. You might have to adjust it to suit your own taste. This dish has been popular whenever friends come over. I tell them that they'll get garlic breath, but then if everyone has garlic breath, no one minds.
Hi, it is wonderful to see you enjoying life there. I really hope you have the opportunity to travel and pat the cats and dogs in many countries. Thanks for explaining Georgian food and climate.
Mix mashed cheese with butter, bake it in thin flattened dough and you will get Khachapuri (also known as imerian Khachapuri). In case of curiosity, Upgrade it by cooked eggs in it and you will get Gurian Khachapuri. Twice delicious than ordinary Khachapuri.
You seem a lot less depressed. Hmmmmm..... You may have to rebrand. It is nice to see that you seem to be having a better time. I hope it keeps improving like forever. All the best and good wishes to you. Cheers.
Never had Georgian food but Chinese dumplings that have soup inside (Xiaolongbao) are so delicious. Also "Variation in the OR6A2 gene has been identified as a likely cause of why some people enjoy the smell and taste of coriander (also known as cilantro) while others have exactly the opposite reaction to the point of repulsion." Sucks 🤷♂
Never seen your channel before. Glad you made it out! I had a friends in Russia-a couple who were saving up what they'd need to make the trip. One was picked up by police as a troublemaker. He was just walking home, but they knew who he was apparently. They just sent him to fight! I'd heard that was happening but wouldn't have believed it. He told the one in command he was leaving when they arrived. He got a nod and a wish for good luck. His fiancée was able to take the money they'd saved to get herself out. They're safe, and they're together. They have family though, so I can say no more. What I know is that people are the same the world over. We have the same laughs, loves, and hopes for our futures. What we do not have, almost any of us, is control over the people who run our country. I wish you the greatest success, and much happiness (and coffee/cats, but I repeat myself) in Georgia. (I couldn't get used to Cilantro…)
Thank you for making this video. It was great to get an update. Like other commenters have said, I can tell that you are happier now. That is the best news.
I have heard that Georgian food is outstanding. I would like to try khinkali. In fact, everything you describe sounds good (well, except the raw egg yolk).
I like that you showed a bit of Georgia and talked about the food and culture. One of your first 10 subscribers here and so happy that you are mostly happy!
You are expressing your life stories so well, there is a noticeable change from when you were in russia. Soda with a taste of tarragon - I do not find that here in the US, but you are convincing me to try it when I find it. Take care.
Alena, thanks for making my day just a bit brighter. For a "Depressed Russian" you got me smiling and laughing with your vlog. Continue to keep your positive attitude. (You say that this video isn't a promotion for Georgia. Well, I think you'd do a good job as a spokesperson for tourism in Georgia. 👍👍😁)
1:29 I love meals contained in breads like that! I like bread bowls (soup or chili ladled into a hollowed out loaf of bread and eaten with utensils, but also sopped up with the bread bowl itself), and there are numerous examples of dishes similar to your beloved Georgian dumplings, like Italian calzones and a Welsh dish that I forget the name of, but it's bread with a thick rim of crust shaped much like a calzone but filled with savory stews that wives made for their coal miner husbands back in the day. The miners could hold the meal by it's crust with their grimey hands and eat the rest of it. Even tamales are a similar concept. This is probably something that people have done from the time that they first started making breads and pastries. I would not be surprised to learn that Stone Age and Bronze Age peoples ate foods like this.
I LOVE your descriptions of Georgian food! Please make some food-vlog vids if you have time. I’m very happy your life is going well and I can see you’re delighted and tickled pink to be out of fascist, repressive Russia. Wishing you the best from The USA! 🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈
Glad you are happy with Georgia & Tilbsi. Food does sound good as I butter on piece of bread to make a sandwhich taste like I have two pieces of cheese in it when I only have one to put on it. ( I ran out of cheese ) Cheese eggs and butter definitely go together. Inexpensive transportation is always appreciated. Warm but not hot weather is always desired.
The dishes you describe sound absolutely delicious. I hope you can taste Georgian wine and perhaps do a video about it. I hear that the greeting phrase translates as ”How are your grapes doing”. So wine is important and the way they make their wine is unique. I hope you can get a home for you and an adopted cat, they couldn’t be more gorgeous.
Omg we had a place here in Seattle, Dacha Diner, that had those egg-on-top khachapuris (sp?). They closed a few years ago, but I think about them a lot. ;) it’s so great that you are not in russia, and I am sad for all the sane folks that are.
I'm glad to hear you're slowly getting closer to the day when "depressed" will fall away from your name. That day is coming Alina, count on it! - Kirk from USA.
I love Georgian cuisine. Especially the Georgian lamb, and mint soup, Chanakhi, which I've made. In the Soviet times, Georgian wine was some of the only good wine available to Soviet citizens (I'm sure your parents could recommend some good brands), and I look forward to trying some soon. Do you know the Ancient Greek story, Jason and The Argonaunts? Cholchis, which was a kingdom at the end of the world for the Greeks was in Georgia, where they went to find the Golden Fleece. I'm glad you're eating my more meat Alena. You should look into the Carnivore Diet. But, whatever diet you do, try to avoid cooking foods in canola, and other seed oils; it's causing a lot of weight gain, and making a lot of diseases worse.
This channel is turning into 'Optimistic Georgian' - I hope you find the happiness & love that you deserve.
This! 👆
😅 best comment and also... she's amazing 🙌🏻
yes so true! I hope it too, I hope Georgia and its new residents find happiness.
Yess! When the foreign agents can be dispelled! 😂
Then there will be political stability in Georgia.🎉😊
Yes, she is a bit more optimistic in this one, but still has that negative sarcasm. I love it. You go girl! 🤪
I’m a little happier every day knowing you made it out!🎉
Same
@@cyberpunkalphamalebut no one was stopping her🤷🏽♂️
Made it out? Its not hard to leave if you want to?
@@edvardthomson7264 yes! You’re telling me that people can’t leave Russia?
@@mikejess04 Obviously not everyone, and not freely. Stop pretending Russia is not a dictatorship, the world knows.
I'm always impressed at your English vocabulary. I don't understand how you can get this just from school. Also, I think you will look back on these years with wonder and fondness, so enjoy as much as you can.
That 👆!
Thanks for educating us & showing us that not all that is Russia is necessarily bad. You're a very fine human being. Keep doing you 👍👍.

You didn't look depressed anymore..you look more beautiful ❤️❤️❤️.i love it
Nice to see you again 😊
Loved your update. You're not so much a Depressed Russian anymore!
Serious props for making the effort to learn basic Georgian. That language is up there with Hungarian as far as complexity/difficulty goes.
Plus, Georgian has an alphabet to die from.
It’s great to see you being less depressed and far happier
So happy for you , many good coffees and happy cats & dogs in your future.
Japan has cat cafe (good for therapeutic "decompression" of the people living in a high-population-density city.) Maybe someone after visiting Georgia brought the idea of cat cafe to Japan.
Good to see and hear you less depressed; it makes me happy too. Enjoy Georgia!
You seem happier and more content with life, i hope you start to experience the happiness you deserve!
Ciao from Napoli (Italy). Just one remark: Your italian is almost perfect! (at least to order a calzone :) Have a joyful life!
GLAD TO SEE YOU DOING WELL AND SAFE.
Alena you have come a long way,we love you, stay safe ❤😊
