I just did this exact same thing minus the wood treatment, i didnt use it because i was certain my rot was caised by the sun in one spot and mostly wet rot in the other places. And because i did it in the beating heat of june july i thought its no longer wet anymore. I hope my decision was okay.😂 I tried to do them all budget so spent 150 on cladding and windows.

You live and learn. We replace sills like this at a cost of £170. Unfortunately that repair is a temporary fix, the wood and the filler will expand/contract at different rates cause small cracks to form and water will find its way back in to the wood.
Good results for your hard work though

DIY Wood filler dust from a sander mixed with wood glue all the way up to large saw dust for larger holes.

What a 'rotten' video! Only kidding I've done jobs like that more filler than wood! Anyway, thanks for your plastic shed videos watched them before me and my son put our 8' x 6' up, it was really helpful, one again thanks!

Have you ever tried car body filler for this?

    • @JonSmith-cx7gr

A good general rule is to use car body filler for car bodies and wood filler for wood. This can be shortened to CBFFCBAWFFW for short.
An easy way to remember CBFFCBAWFFW is to use the following mnemonic:
Car Body Filler For Car Bodies And Wood Filler For Wood.

Am repairing a sash window in a hundred fifty year old light house , have used car body filler on sashes and replacing the sill with a hardwood one.
Ronseal stuff is good but the pros use better again.....research always proves fruitful.

You are completely wrong with your solution and approach,
Also you you don't have the proper roofing cover above your rotten window and that's why rhe window is rotten in the first place.
Here is the proper way for you. Use your sander to make a small slope outwards in the wood. Take a zink protected steel sheet, cut the rectangular shape, use pliers to bend the outer edge on that steel piece over the wood edge and glue the piece to the wood with sylicon sealant.
