Apparently these days in Gary, you can get your kids taken away if they moonwalk up the wall and onto the ceiling. In the old days when a kid from Gary did something like that they were a star. Times have changed.

Who the fuck watches a kid go full-on feral and moonwalk up onto the fuckin’ ceiling and go “ah yes, truly this mother is unfit to take care of them”
This is what I don't understand either. If it were just the mom, grandma, and kids telling stories with no other evidence then I can see the skepticism. But two professionals with no personal connection to the family witness a child walk backwards up a wall and onto the ceiling while having a 1000 yard stare and that's not grounds for at least "Ya, something's not right here...". Couple that with the oil like substance and its affects and I'd think there's something worth studying.
@@d.r.4453 Never underestimate the human capacity to deny what is seen and not want to accept. People just want to have "rational" and "logical" explanations and nothing else.
I live 40 minutes south of Gary and I remember when this happened. I was in high school and everyone was talking about the hell house in Gary. Such a wild story
Your whole crew over at Bedtime Stories are something else. You guys have a level of video production quality that is rarely matched in the heavily saturated TH-cam story telling landscape. Keep doing what you guys do!
I agree for the most part. Overall production and artwork are impeccable. However, the narration lacks.

@@veryepic2814 I don't mean to say that it's bad. Not at all. Just sometimes feels belabored. I'm a narrator myself for a couple other channels on TH-cam and sometimes I have to be put in check for sounding too robotic.
Bedtime Stories does a great job! There’s another couple of true crime channels you may like...They’re called Explore With Us and JCS Criminal Psychology. They have great content with the production quality to match!
Except they were wrong. No later tenants it was torn down.
I happened to hear about this case a few months ago, and by chance watched a separate video about it just earlier today. What a truly chilling case. The fact that there is official paperwork from the social workers about the boy walking backwards up the walls chills me to no end.
Why did they take the kids off the mother after witnessing that for themselves!
@@robertburgess11 Perhaps the mother herself was too traumatised by the events to carry out her parental duties effectively. So the state had to take care of her children instead.
If it helps, I believe in the actual situation, the grandmother was still holding his hands, which would have allowed him to brace himself off of her. Still very odd, but it made it seem like it could much more easily have been a routine they were putting on.

I actually had a bit of an encounter years ago. I am from Gary and I used to live along the beach near Lake Michigan. It was in the middle of the Indiana dunes national park. Lake street in Miller. I was an adventurous kid and used to muck about in the woods and dunes around my house.
Out there you get used to animal noises; deer raccoons, coyotes etc. but every now and again I’d hear howls, like. A man just yelling but disturbing. I’ve never seen anything but those screams always had me looking out into the trees wondering if something was gonna jump out.
Ended up making a rule to be back in civilization by sundown

It originates as a Hebrew slur against a fairly popular middle eastern deity, Baal. Particularly, the Canaanites worshipped it as a fertility thing. So the Israelis incorporated it into the name Baal'zevuv. Lord of the Flies. A fun and exciting way to deeply offend a culture you're at war with.

Actually I heard there were no further tenants in that house. Zak Bagans bought it, did a special investigation on it,then bulldozed it.
Yes. An investigation that produced nothing of interest and by destroying the poor-quality house ensuring no one can contradict his "findings". Taken in context of Bagans' other investigations, the lack of complaints from prior tenants and the issue of highly religious people reaching supernatural conclusions without expertise in investigating odd incidents this cannot be taken as more than a fireside story.

I live in Indiana and remember seeing this on the local and national news. There's a famous photo of the house that was taken by a police officer shortly after the family moved out and the house was vacant where you can see a human shaped figure standing inside the screened in porch and looking outside

Former Cop here, when you have numerous secular cops and social workers report paranormal activity that legitimizes and corroborates the victims story, and STILL there are critics, something is wrong with said critics. Sounds like they might have their own agenda.
I don’t think we have that here-the social workers took custody of the kids because they felt they were being coached by their mother.
I’ve seen and been grabbed by ghosts, and this thing doesn’t jibe at all with reality. The supernatural is far more subtle than the events reported herein. I am happy to be proven wrong with evidence or first-hand experience though
I'm from Chicago and I'd rather go chill down in the fucking Englewood neighborhood at 1am than drive through Gary. Demons are by far the least dangerous thing there.

I'm glad you did an episode on the Ammons case but you left out so much. I would have loved to see you animate the 10 foot tall demon and the kids speaking in evil tounges to the grandmother which both were left out. A great episode nonetheless. I really hope someone makes a movie about this case. There are so many different dynamics at play here. If done right it could make Insidious look like a children's show.

@@brandenapexo604 they did a show called Demon House. Look it up. It's really good. Zac Baggins did the show. I'm not a fan of him, but this is really good. He bought the property and tore the house down so no one would ever have to go thru that again.

Also the 2 individuals getting cancer and attributing it to the house was pretty insane as well. Seems to me the house had some sort of portal for evil spirits and such but my lingering question was always how did that come to be and nobody seemed to have an answer. Zack did the right thing by destroying the home.
@@brandenapexo604 I remember watching actual news reports when this case first came to be a story. Doctors and nurses and social workers along with the Police Captian and other officers have all been on record as to witnessing all the events that took place. It got to a point that the police were on record as saying they would not go into the home again under any circumstances. How often have you ever heard law enforcement officers say something like that?
Reminds me of the Enfield Haunting where the kids formed a kind of unspoken pact to work together to freak out the paranormal investigator. As the story gets retold, spread from one paranormal believer to another, the happening are carefully edited and re-edited to remove all clues to ordinary explanations until there's nothing left but the paranormal to ponder.

My grandparents 3rd floor attic in Indiana was so haunted, I spent the whole night with the pillow over my head. The attic door was in the room I slept in.

I see what you did there. I find this one pretty interesting because of all of the corroborating official reports from different professionals, it lends a lot of credence to the whole thing. The only thing I wish they had done was get a lab report on the composition of the fluid that seemed to be omnipresent.

@@justinandrew5849 could have, but what _is_ ectoplasm? What is it made of? Where did it come from? Is it a material that we already know of or is it new to science? Having it analysed properly would have gone a long way toward legitimising this kind of thing in mainstream science. As technology advances it both gets easier and harder to definitively say what people call ghosts exist. Easier because videos are much clearer, instruments are more accurate and testing more rigorous but harder because technological advances make it easier to fake things.

What the hell? The kid walking on the ceiling like a Japanese horror flick. This is the most frightening thing to come out of Gary with the exception of Michael Jackson. Thank you for all your hard work getting these three episodes out BTS crew.

From what i read the kid walked backwards up the wall but his grandmother had hold of his hand, first time of hearing he walked on the ceiling.
That part is sadly an inaccuracy on behalf of the BTS team. Mr Ballen did an episode on this case where he reads directly from the official police report on this incident. In the report, its stated that the child walked backwards up the wall while pushing against his grandmother, then did a flip over his grandmothers head onto the ground.
It's also an accuracy that there were any further tenants or that the family stayed in the house. The family had abandoned the house by the time the police got involved and it was bought by a paranormal investigator after the fact.
Michael Jackson is certainly not frightening.

@@osakarose5612 it is. Right along with the American Black Bear and the Grizzly/Kodiacks up north. There have also been reports coming from some of the northern states and national parks of increases in wolf populations. And just about everywhere we are slowly seeing upticks in the populations of deer, elk, and the like. I suspect over the last year or so, with fewer hunters going out, it has allowed for a small boom in the populations of various species, resulting in territory growth as well

To anyone who is interested in this case, I highly recommend watching Mr Ballen's video on this. He goes into much further detail and reads directly from the official police report on the incident.
In it he shows the child never did walk on the wall or ceiling unassisted. Instead he walked back up the wall while pressing against his grandmothers hands before summersaulting over her. Mr Ballen also highlighted how the report stated the family had abandoned the property by the time the police got involved and there were no further tenants. The report also mentions that the female police officer only felt the pain in her finger and not her entire body.
So while nothing nearly as extreme as what is said in this video is backed by police records. There are strong elements of truth and the report does very much hint towards a potentially paranormal explanation.
I love Mr. Ballen but I think I'm about 'Indiana Haunting'ed to death at this point. I've seen so much stuff about it, and which parts are (or aren't) included, mischaracterized, switched around, etc., is so extreme from one presentation to the next, it seems basically impossible to know the actual facts.

I noticed that he left out a small detail. When he walked backwards up a wall and onto the ceiling. His grandmother was holding his hands praying. He pushed against her with his arms to create the pressure he used to walk up the wall. And he didn't just stand upside down on the ceiling. He used his feet on the ceiling to flip over his grandma and land behind her.
I love this channel. Best of its kind, hands down! I'd love more Sasquatch stuff, especially one on possible Sasquatch predation on people.

Gary Indiana always had a weird feel to it every time I go there.
When I lived in Chicago Illinois and me and my family would take road trips. Gary Indiana was the one place we would refuse to stop at for any reason. Even if someone had to go to the bathroom we would wait until the next town over. Plus we also pray that our car would not brake down either. This story gives me another good reason not to go there. Great job as always with the narration, editing, and drawings.

This story gets more and more ludicrous each time it’s told. The little boy didn’t literally walk up the wall unaided and stand on the ceiling. Jesus Christ. He was holding his grandmother’s hand at the time and using her arm to push against, took 2 or 3 steps up the wall then flipped over her arm and landed on his feet. It wasn’t some otherworldly thing..it just seemed like something a little boy shouldn’t have been able to do. But certainly not impossible. I personally think this whole story can be chalked up to mental illness and the mother attempting to manipulate the system.

I was listening to this with my earbuds in. I tend to have one on and the other idling in the case so that I can both extend the usage I get out of a charge and to stay aware of things in case someone calls me. On this particular occasion I had the right one out for a few hours and the left one in the case, and later decided to have them both in. I briefly took the right one out and had it hanging on my ear with this playing and all the sudden I hear the faintest sound of "Low Battery" and I swear I nearly peed myself.

This story is batshit insane! The main guy from Ghost Adventures, Zack Bagans, actually bought the house and had it torn down after a violent attack from the demonic entities at the property.

This was the same house featured in Demon House by Zach Bagens from Ghost Adventures. This house was then torn down after the documentary. This story is credible.
Ok. I was right. I just commented before I seen the comments. That documentary was insanely good and scary. That house was truly demonic.

I Moved into a house with my family at the age of 6 yrs old. I live there until I was 11 years old.
We livec in this house for 5 yrs between 1976 - 1981. After experiencing a lot of Supernatural activity on a daily basis . My mother started doing some research with her professors about the property. After several months looking , she and her professors found some old documents at the college that stated our property was on ancient Indian burial ground. Even the nearby mountains have Indian pictographs that are protected by the federal government.
This property is the real deal. We moved out in 1981. Bad things continue to happen even after we moved away. With us and with the people that purchase the property .
I last visited the area in 2011. I introduced myself to the new owners and shared the information my mother found out with them. I found out that even to this very day the strange phenomenon continues on a daily basis! The new owners even had a priest come pray over the place but nothing changed.
This property is in Hinkley California, in the Mojave desert in Southern California.
Its the same little town that a movie was made with the actress Julia Roberts playing Erin Brockovich in the movie "Erin Brockovich" released in the year 2000. It is a true story about the towns water supply gets poisoned by the public works department.
Many people ended up with cancer and died, my dad and aunt are two of them & my mother ended up with cancer while we lived there which has taken her life over the years from health problems.
A lot of people have got sick and passed away!
A lot of people have been ran out of town or forced to move because they cannot drink the water there. Their property has been purchased for a cheap price by the state because, no one can live there. then they are told they must move!
The school that is in the movie is my old grade school I went to while living there from 1976 - 1981.
The poison has spread throughout the community in all water pipes underground and leaks out into the underground water table. The school that I went to has been shut down for many years now. it is considered no longer safe for students because of this poison water problem.
Unfortunately the entire town has become a ghost town over this. It wasn't very big to begin with! . It's as though, the area is cursed!
there were some things left out of this retelling. like there was a spot under the steps where the concrete had been torn up and bare earth was visible. there was also that the grandmother was holding the hands of the child when he walked up the wall backwards and he had done this before multiple times.

It's a fine story, very Amityville, but if the police officer actually had any of that evidence... where is it? Any officer knows hard evidence is king, and a good investigator never asks anyone to take their word for anything. So... to the officer, I say habeas corpus. Or, to put it another way: pics or it didn't happen.

Poor woman! Based on only the information provided in this story, but also being aware of how parents can, even non-verbally, influence the behavior of their children, I am predisposed to believe something unnatural took place with this family. I sincerely pray they are safe now.
It never occurred to the police to get samples of that oily fluid to take to a lab for analysis? I would have insisted on that.

Here is a story that happened to me when I was very young. I grew up in Franklin TN. One very late night my babysitter was driving us back from the movies back home. My parents were out for the weekend and my babysitter decided to take me to a movie that Saturday night. Anyway were coming back into Franklin on a fairly deserted stretch of road. The was forest and the occasional house on the right side and just fields on the left. Suddenly two flashing white lights started blinking in the field next to us. It looked like those lights that are on towers that warn low flying helicopters. There were two problems. One there were no structures in the fields to our left. Second they remained on our right side as we were driving meaning they were following us. We immediately started panicking and flipping out and drove as fast as we could. Right before the road connected to the main road (Lewisburg Pk.) the lights simply vanished as if they were turned off. I never spoke to my parents about what we saw and sadly as I grew up I lost contact with the babysitter. I often think about how I would love to see her today and ask if she still remembers.
Case worker: "ok so what seems to be the problem here?"
Child: *moonwalks up wall*
Case worker: "oh ok now thats new..."
When I was a truck driver, my dispatcher said DO NOT stop in Gary, Idiana or Detroit. I did not argue.
