Just discovered that in my portable handle there is storage for a spare belt Haven't seen this mentioned in any of the manuals. T he back just happened to pop off or I wouldn't have known. Your videos have made me appreciate my G4 so much more! Thanks. Kirby company should love you!
Gosh I wish you were here to take mine apart and clean her up. Ive just bought a new fan and am hopeful that will stop how loud it has become. Thank you!
I took my Kirby apart a couple of years ago, laid each part with screws etc next to other corresponding parts on the floor but then transferred everything to the dining room table that was not being used for anything only to have someone dump everything into a storage container. I didn't think I could replace that switch without removing the sealant and the replacement switch cost more than I wanted to spend so for 2 years it sat until I saw your video and saw that I had been mistaken about how to remove and replace that part. Thank you so much! I received the replacement part and I'm working on it right now. I figure this is going to be just like figuring out a tricky puzzle. Challenge accepted... thanks to your generosity of sharing this video. Much Thanks!!!
So glad I could help, really appreciate great comment and support of my channel. Once you’ve work on a Kirby once it gets easier. 👍🔔 not to miss new uploads and tutorials. 👍👍
@@KirbyEnthusiast I know I can't put it back together without watching your video so thank you again and please offer your opinion on using silicone caulking in place of gasket sealant. I hadn't planned on separating the parts but it came apart while washing so I just peeled the rest off. So now, it's put aside again because I don't want to use the caulking if it's not going to work. (Today is my dad's bday) After complaining that my sunroof was leaking 30 years ago, my dad caulked it shut so I know what he would do but I want to hear your opinion, please.
Howdy mate, Thank you very much for sharing this video with us. I have a Kirby Santria and it's never been completely cleaned but after watching how you've cleaned the one in the video, I'm going to clean mine. So, great video mate, thanks again... hope your doing well, and hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 😊
Thank you!! I am going to service my own vacuum. We bought a used one for a great deal and have had it “cleaned” three times. Each time the original stink from the original owner comes back. Hoping I can get rid of the smell for good.
I have refurbished a lot that snellt, once fully cleaned inside and out they will not smell anymore . So glad I could help ,really appreciate great comment and support of my channel. If you like to buy me a coffee , contemplate using Thank$ button below video 👍🔔
I bought a G6 2001 Limited at a yard sale for $20. It was very dirty and smelled horrible so I followed along with your video and cleaned it it looks great but doesn’t run anymore. I did not take the brushes out of the motor. I have checked and double checked to make sure I have plugged things back in. Do you have ant guesses what I might have done? I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you
I own a Sentra G10D. the screw in my neutral drive button came out and I vacuumed it up. something inside went pop and it has not worked since. this was 5 years ago. can you do a tutorial on this one?

😊 thank you really appreciate support of my channel. I just use the Kirby to keep dog hairs at bay, though my dog is banned from the bedrooms as i cant stand dog hairs in my bedroom getting on my clothes or in my bed linen
Thankyou really appreciate comment and support . This video may help , i pretty much have made alot of tips for Kirby's. Check out this video th-cam.com/video/wyIvHqPOJq0/w-d-xo.html
When I try to clean the hair and debris from the bottom, one of the latches to unlock it doesn’t want to unlock. I have to use something to get it to unlock. I have tried using lube but it doesn’t seem like it is working. It’s the first time I’ve had any issues with mine and I have used it regularly since I bought it in 2013.
@@KirbyEnthusiast After seeing more of your videos, I realized how filthy my system was. I’m sure I still have the manual for it, but I forgot how much it was capable of doing. I didn’t have the guts to fully clean it, but with some of your suggestions, I feel like it is new again after 11 years of not properly maintaining it
Great video, wish you would speak English. Just kidding, I could listen all day. Love the detail, thanks ✌ Ps. Just bought a Sentria 1 for $75 American. I think I got a good deal. I'm tired of buying a Hover Windtunel every 3 years.
So glad my channel is helping new and old Kirby owner get the most out of the best home cleaning system. Congratulations on a great pickup .Thankyou for awesome comment and support really appreciated 👍👍
@@KirbyEnthusiast Doh! I should have known from the number on the side of the casing LOL but thanks. I cannot believe that a vacuum over 22yrs old is still as strong and working perfectly, it just goes to show how we used to make things back in the day. I would love to see a 22yr old Dyson or Shark ;)
Have you tried holding fan the a quick turn that's with the screwdriver that normally work for me, otherwise a spanner on the rear armature with stop it turning as you undo. Hope this helps , please subscribe and ding bell not to miss more tutorials. Thankyou for support
I use a plastic scraper behind the fan. Just apply pressure whilst turning it and it will release. When I stripped my Gsix I noticed that the last guy who stripped it replaced screws in the wrong places, left cable ties off of the inlet pipe, both the boot and at the top were just left open, no wonder the outer bag was full of dust! Also the beater bar/brush bar was set to 3, because the bars on the lower belt cover were all bent outwards. I gently pressed them back into their original shape and now the brush runs on the first setting, also vacuum strength is strong. The fan housing has a plastic ramp that helps with air velocity; this was also caked in dust and when I removed it, a layer of compressed dust came out in one piece! It must have been there since the vacuum was built! After cleaning behind the fan I used silicone grease on the shaft bearing and replaced the fan, tightened the belt pin, replaced the plastic ramp after I packed the underside with silicone grease first, this will inhibit the accumulation of dust in the future. I couldn't believe the condition it was in when I bought it for £104 from ebay, considering the ad said that it had been serviced regularly - maybe 10yrs ago. I was a little despondent to say the least, I would love one of those Avalir's but out of my price range at the moment. It now works as it should and will give years of service. The brushes were worn about 1/3rd of their entire length, so plenty of life in them yet. When I first fired it up after receiving it, I had only used it for about 5 minutes before the front wheel fell off! There is no hole for a screw that fits the wheel on as it seems to be a pressed on job, luckily I have a press and managed to get it back on using a little epoxy on the axle, it won't fall off again...LOL
I do this with my kirby as well. It's nice to watch these videos cause sometimes I learn something.

what year was the Gsix manufactured?
It was released in 1999 and ran until G7 was released in 2002
