  • This video shows you how to calibrate your Galaxy Watch 3 or 4, and also tests the Galaxy Watch 3 against the Omron M3 Automatic BP monitoring device.
    To view a full review on the Galaxy Watch 3:

    To recalibrate the watch:
    Open the Samsung Health Monitor app, tap Blood Pressure, then view history. Tap the three dots, and then "Recalibrate". The watch also asks you automatically to recalibrate every 28 days.
    Show less
    Note on BP readings: Some people believe that the BP readings on this device are misleading or not true. The watch has smart sensors that can measure your blood pressure through pulse wave analysis as you wear it. To ensure accuracy, users should calibrate their device at least once every four weeks. Users should measure their blood pressure when at rest, as they would do with a traditional cuff, and refrain from measuring when they are working out, smoking, or drinking.

    How to turn on the calibration app?

  • @KenpoOjoko
    @KenpoOjoko ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To measure accurate BP, you need to be still. Your motion right after the Omron gave you a reading -- picking up your phone and entering the numbers -- must have changed your actual BP somewhat. You may want to have your phone close to you, so you can enter the numbers with a minimum body movement.

    The main reason I bought the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 was to have the blood pressure test. After trying to figure out how to find it in my watch, I finally called Samsung who told me it isn't available in the US. I was bummed. A man at my computer club had 6 different watches with blood pressure monitoring, 3 on each wrist. He couldn't tell me what brand the watches were, but he said they all had them that worked. Is there an app that I can add to my Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 to use, aside from the Samsung app which isn't approved?

    • @WYSbyAdamLash
      @WYSbyAdamLash  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sorry to hear about that. Many people complained about the unavailability of the BB monitoring function on the watch, but that's because Samsung couldn't get the FDA's approval. As for workarounds, I am unaware of any. Perhaps you can try other options out there that are FDA approved in the US.

    I have the Galaxy 5 watch pro and you said it perfectly. It depends on which armor goes on.
    I think this method is not really that accurate when it comes to calibration.
    The reason why is because you're taking your blood pressure on one side and calibrating on the other.. My arms very a good amount My left arm is probably a little bit higher than my right. Supposed to be doing it in your left arm.
    I wonder if there's a better way to do it to calibrate..

      I've tried on same hand and different hand and the measurement on the watch is not accurate at all for someone with high blood pressure.
      It's basically useless and same as the Chinese fake brands that don't measure anything.
      The watch only gives measurements of what it was calibrated to read, it doesn't go up or down with your blood pressure as it does with an arm cuff blood pressure monitor.
      Samsung watch is not worth the money at all.
      The disclaimer about it not to be used as a medical reading, is just a way of saying, it measures blood pressure, but don't take the measurement for its reading, go and confirm on an arm cuff blood pressure monitor, which is BS to me.
      Until samsung is able to make the watches read blood pressure without any sort of calibration, just like an arm cuff blood pressure monitor, then don't waste your money to buy these, they are worthless.

      @WYSbyAdamLash  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Emmy I disagree. You are entitled to your opinion, but calling the Galaxy Watch "Chinese Fake Brands" insults both Samsung and legit Chinese products such as Xiaomi and Huawei. Try this before judging: Go for HIIT workouts and get your heart pumping. Wait 5 minutes for your heart rate to go down, and take a BB measurement on your watch. You will notice your BB will rise drastically (I tested it once, mine was 145, and I don't have hypertension). This is normal since intense exercise temporarily elevates your BP. If your BP does not increase after strenuous exercise, something may be wrong with your watch. Send it for service or update your watch and get the Watch 5.

      The watch can at least alert you for abnormally high or low readings. If your readings are abnormally high or low and feel some unusual physical symptoms, contact a nearby hospital immediately for proper medical attention. Measure at least 2 more times again if you are judged not to be in an emergency

      I respect your opinion, but I disagree. The watch can alert you to large increases or decreases in blood pressure. I had tested it multiple times, and the accuracy can vary up to 10 or even 15 mmHg, which is NOT bad at all. If you consistently get lower readings, you can mentally calibrate it by adding 10 mmHg. For instance, if your watch says 127, then mentally add 10, and it's 137. This is a very conservative estimate. Sometimes I also get differences of up to 10 mmHg
