Let me save you some time; No, it's not accurate. If there was an optical device you could slap on someone's wrist and have an accurate blood pressure reading, that device would be used in every single hospital. Instead, we've been using the same method for well over a hundred years.
I dont think it is accurate it always shows the range where i first calibrated it. I am current Y using my omron and it says different as is 10 full count lower.
Thank you very much! Please watch my other video on BP as well since some people suggested that I should have compared it with a medical-grade BP monitor.
If it just gives you a higher BP reading when it detect a higher BPM reading? You cant verify this unless you may increase your BP but keep BPM the same.
Thank you indeed for your testing work, helpful, at least as an element of comparison. In own experience, Watch 6 is surprisingly accurate for blood pressure, ECG, and oxygen levels. What's more, it is also consistent in its results. I read that as reliable, too.
I don't believe it's accurate, the post-workout BP, systolic should have been way higher than that... During workout BP is 160/90 usually.. If you sit down, measure immediately, it still should be close to that but lower.
The Samsung Health Monitor app, which enables blood pressure monitoring, is available in more than 30 countries, but there's no specific mention of availability in the United States as of now.
Thanks for sharing the result with before and after workout. It looks good. Could you test with arm type blood pressure to have a comparison? Thanks a lot
Your mistake was not using a proper bp monitor right after using the watch after you workout. 134/70 is not that different than 114/74. Want more proof, put the watch on a senior with bad bp, it will still be in *your* calibrated range, even if a real monitor shows a much higher number.
@@HayyyChristiann The point is these current bp watches are entirely a gimmick and not one person has demonstrated objectively that they're not a gimmick. Standing on a spot and running isn't going to do anything meaningful to your bp and if he really wanted to show something he would have sat down and shown the watch and shown arm monitor at the same time, without any cut away in the video. The blood pressure feature on Samsung Galaxy Watches (Galaxy Watch 3 to Galaxy Watch 7) works through a combination of initial calibration with a traditional cuff and advanced pulse wave analysis. How It Works: Calibration: - The watch is calibrated using a traditional cuff-based blood pressure monitor. Users take simultaneous readings with the cuff and the watch. - This data is input into the Samsung Health Monitor app. The process is repeated three times and recalibrated every four weeks for accuracy. Pulse Wave Analysis: - The watch uses photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensors to detect changes in blood volume at the wrist. - These sensors measure the pulse wave generated by heartbeats. - An algorithm analyzes the pulse transit time (the time it takes for the pulse wave to travel between arterial sites) and correlates it with the initial calibration readings to estimate systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This method allows the Galaxy Watch to provide blood pressure readings through non-invasive means, using advanced sensor technology and algorithms for continuous health monitoring.
For me it gives SYS 128 and my dedicated device SYS 110, for bpm 89 compared to 79 on the dedicated machine. Somethimes it gives wild readings of 168bpm for 2 minutes then I'm at 107. My first gen watch was a lot more consistent. Honestly it's a piece of expensive trash, slow, crashes a lot in samsung made apps, you lose all your purchases from previous gen and can barely get 2 days of battery on airplane mode and no apps running, just as a simple watch.. heck my seiko has a better power reserve :))
@@WYSbyAdamLash I've did, this doesn't change anything. Hey there! Don't be discouraged. Blood pressure can be influenced by many factors, and there are plenty of ways to improve it through diet, exercise, and stress management. You're young, and with some healthy lifestyle changes, you can make a big difference. Stay positive and keep taking steps towards better health! You'd be surprised at what you can achieve once you start making healthier choices. Here are some tips that might help: 1. Adopt a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy. Reducing salt and sugar intake can also have a significant impact. 2. Engage in regular physical activity, such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week. 3. If you're overweight, losing even a small amount of weight can help lower blood pressure. Set achievable weight loss goals. 4. Eliminate alcohol and reduce caffeine consumption (I use extra mild coffee), as both can contribute to high blood pressure. 5. Practice stress-reducing techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, or other relaxation practices. 6. If you smoke, quitting tobacco can significantly improve your overall health and help lower blood pressure. 7. Regularly monitor your blood pressure and keep track of the readings to understand what works best for you. Also, make sure you are getting enough Potassium everyday through food like bananas, oranges, beans, etc. This is important as Potassium balances sodium levels and helps relax the walls of blood vessels. Remember, small lifestyle changes can make a big difference! Stay positive and keep going strong!

Exercise increases systolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure measures blood vessel pressure when your heart beats.
