Thank you sooo much! I just started cello and i'm still working on my posture (to me is the hardest thing manteining a good posture) so this clarifies me a lot!
Thank you Abigail. I have got a lot of insights from your video. A question. Instead of specifying position, would we simply discuss the objectives for a good position - to allow the cellist to reach various positions of fingerboards at ease, and to allow the right hand to stretch to full bow easily for different strings? That will determine the height, the tilting angle, and the slight rotation to the left body.
Hi Abigail. Do you have any suggestions for a person who is overweight? I have just started to learn the cello and can't seem to find the right position.
after playing for over a month I realized my large chest was making it soooo much harder to play. my bust is much larger than the average size (34GG) and it makes the cello jut out about 5 or more inches so when I try to get in position I find my arms extended and its sooo uncomfortable
The only bad information I saw was that Abigail had her bow being propped up on its tip, which is a recipe for damaging the tip of the ivory on the bow, and can even result in a break in the bow.
Great advice. I find all your videos I have watched have been very helpful. Thanks
Sensacional.... o que estava faltando para alavancar meus estudos. Parabéns Abigail.

That seems like a perfectly reasonable approach, especially for older students. Kids might need a bit more structure and consistency, however.
Thank you for your beauty the beauty of education and soul and playing
Great advice! Thanks!

Very, very good! That was very helpful! :D
Thank you
do you have a link to where to custom order a cello chair?

Im 5 ft 10 do i need a custom chair. Or is a small chair fine
I was 5'10" and used a standard kitchen chair by choice to play for decades. I think leg length is much more of a determining factor.
3:25 Lol!
To much words ....
there's a lot of bad information here; are you sure you are a cellist? (either way, you shouldn't teach)
Rusalka 78 what in particular?
What were the bad information?
