We're not in the 80s. anymore. If you google Poland, Hungary, Czechia or Slovakia- you'll get the "central Europe" in the location description. Calling our Central matters to our region a lot. ❤
I am an English boy, and when my friend introduced me to a Polish girl (new to the village) we talked for hours. She embraces her femininity, yet is so pushy if she does not get her way lol, also very protective. Red is her favourite colour too. This was when we were 15. 4 years later, we're engaged and have 1 child. I'm excited for the future 😁
I am so incredibly proud to be Polish, my babcia was called Ewa, her family saved many people in the war. She was the strongest and most beautiful woman. Even though half her family were murdered she was full of love, support and to this day the most inspirational woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
My wife's mother had run ins with the Nazis too. She told me they arrested her as a very young girl for not giving up a family pig as tribute. She was jailed and escaped by jumping to her freedom and had a limp for life. What a smart and tough lady.
Once I met a polish girl. Her name was Johanna and I think I'll always remember her. It was summer and I was in Rome for vacation, when I saw that stunning angel: long loose black hair, very light skin, very light blue eyes and a lovely red dress as much casual as sexy. I'm not used to stare at unknown people, but that time I was stuck for seconds... I couldn't help it. She came to me asking directions. Expressing my embarrassment due to my total lack of orientation and my really bad memory about roads, we started chatting: very polite, cute and funny! We were about to depart when my eye fell on her purse. That edge of that disc! It was from Deicide!! For people who doesn't know, it's a metal band which is a little on the extreme side of good metal! It was love! That little cute beautiful flower just bought that disc... Wow!!! Wherever you are, dear angel, I hope you're still enjoying good metal!!
I had a girlfriend from Jelenia Góra for many years. This is a very accurate video...and yes, she could drink me under the table. But I gained family respect as soon as I was able to hold my Wodka and learn to communicate in broken Polish :-) Boże, kocham Polaków, kulturę polską i Polskę. Jestem taki szczęśliwy, że teraz jest częścią mnie., Pewnego dnia będę nawet uczył się mówić po polsku w pół przyzwoity sposób.... one day :-)
Oddly, this exact thing happened with me recently. Although I was begging my Polish girlfriend to let me lie down after throwing up in the toilet 🤷♂️ I was shouting “Nie, Nie, Nie!” I’m English*
General Butt naked looks totally normal to me. You must totally look way more tanned in that case. looking at that guy from modern talking, i guess its even possible to look like a Spaniard when you are not lmao
I am Puerto Rican and I have many Polish friends and they I must say Polish people have world class hospitality, they take pleasure in feeding you all you can eat and giving you drinks. The food is always awesome too. ...in my opinion Polish women are some of the sexiest in the world and they are wife material.
Polish women have a strong personality. They are ambitious, care a lot for their looks, well educated and hard working. Some 30% or 40% of senior management in Polish companies and governments are staffed by ladies, which is among one of the highest in the world. On the other side, Poles passionately complain about everything, tend to express negative emotions more than positive ones and they really don't smile a lot. Stereotypes have to have some origins, which are representative for a group of people.
Guarantee you that despite the equality there, there's going to be a massive wave of feminism sweeping through Poland soon and the women will be acting like they're treated like dogs, destroying the conservative aspects of the country and making it fall in line with the rest of the EU. The only safe places are Ukraine and Russia. Watching this comment section of the video you can already see that a lot of naive Polish women are already denouncing masculinity and rejecting the normal and healthy traditional family roles where the husband is the leader. They'll remain a safe country due to nationalism but the feminism will chew them up in time and cause enough division that the country will vote left a few generations from now. Birth rates are going to drop even more and suicide rates of men will skyrocket eventually, just watch.
I just want to laugh when I see all these generalizations. The only difference between Polish women or German women or American women is the fact that they were born in a piece of land with a different name. Women are women, there's no difference between nations. There's difference between characters and personalities, and it certainly doesn't depend on race.
Yup so true.... They have strong personality, smart, ambisius .. and also true about complaining it also polish men hahahaha ... My husband polish, like to complain alot of BS hahhahaa
@@teaaddict813 It's in the middle of Europe. Google and Wikipedia says it's central. Religiously (catholic), geographically (middle), culturally (west culture), politically (Visegrad), and even linguistically (west-slavic) it's in Central Europe. Even Polish time zone is Central European. Only due to one point of history after war- people call it eastern (Warsaw pact) By they should stop- it's history, not the present. It's kinda offensive.
One important sentence in this video : Polish girls are highly educated !! I visited Poland in the seventies about 50% of the students were women !! Thanks for the video !!
Jean Pierre Zutter hollyy fuck you would geuss 50 % of the people is women there🤪 holy fucking damn that's new to me... oh wait in literally every european country the majority is women
Alex Van Horssen Of course the women were the majority in Poland and other countries of East Europ !! Please read again my commentary: in the faculty of agriculture that I visited about 50% of the students were women !! Best wishes !!
Kinga Lew Yes, during the seventies all the girls in my family were studying at universities, I was a kid in high school in Poland . Why’s this surprising to you ? That we really didn’t have gender discrimination, that we were treated well by male society of the country.? . My grandmother went to college and became a teacher at 1928, then my mom became a teacher in 1957, then my older sisters were University students during 70ties -
That's not very impressive though, is it? Even in my contry that is very sexist women are more educated than men. We are the majority in the universities, and in some cities it comes to the point that 80% of the students are female.
Well the only reason she denies it is because she believes this is almost as certain as hardcore science. But yes, I believe You. If she is Polish her supetitions are most likely strong and numerous. I guess she might also believe that herbs can cure more diseases than modern day lab- tested meds can. It's comes from the same source that supestitions come from- which would be Polish countryside folklore. 60% of Polish population comes from Polish peasants so no wonder countryside folklore is still huge part of Polish culture. Typically urban populations were few and their members got decimated during WWII. Plus communist regime destroyed high class old traditions but had little control over countryside. Communist propaganda wasn't very strong there hence didn't really destroyed traditional culture and ways of thinking about the surrounding world. And countryside relies on repetitive patterns and has cyclical , not linear concept of time (which is important for science and the idea of scientific progress), hence frequent knowledge updates are not necessary unless something really tragic like huge epidemy happens. If no drama occurs even faulty old knowledge doesn't hurts since things take their natural turn anyway, even with some outdated and useless information. Yet some of this traditional knowledge based on simple observation of nature is quite useful and doesn't change much. So people pass it on , as farming advice or animal care advice, from one generation to another. And nothing wrong with it. Farming , rural communities all over the world are full of this kind of "silent knowledge" transmission between generations, so it's pretty normal for rural areas on a global scale, with reference to all humankind. Plus it's good to know that Enlightement as a period in development of European human thought never happend in Poland, due to political situation and Polish partitions, so people cannot be blamed for not being hard-core Western- like rational thinkers. Poland had to do the jump from medevial-like church dominated thinking into XIX-century which was all about mechanisation, individualism and communist ideas. A mixture of all, I agree, resulted in very specific mode of thinking which often mixes very contradictory views. I suppose it's more than obvious than an expert in astronomy and astrophysics who is also a very respected priest just has to be Polish. Poland has all kinds of such mindset/worldview combinations. So what may seem odd to You, is pretty normal in Poland.
brys555 no. Much more mundane type stuff. One off the top of my head is about windows. On pleasant days or nights I like to open the windows of our house. Which annoys her greatly and she goes around and shuts them. For years she would say “this is is why we have air conditioning” and the like. Which I found strange for someone who is always trying to save money. Found out later from an older polish couple we know that it has something to do with evil spirts coming through the windows? Shrug
That moment when I'm a Russian man but after this video I started believing that I'm a Polish woman... Specially the "Warsaw" part. When people ask me where I'm from, I'm like "St.Petersburg" and then they start with the suka-blyad and "do you drink a lot" and other stereotypical shit which just makes me end the conversation. And the last one with the pickle water is SO true. Everytime I get a hangover I drink some and get back on my feet in no-time!
I think all of us slavs can agree. We have rich culture and big pice of history behind us. It's so sad and insulting that only thing most of people know about us is that we just drink a lot.
Это почему мы в Польши Русских любим. В политике мы не дружище, но нормальное граждане с Русскими хотят дружить :) Извини мое ошибки и Вам всем всего хорошего от Поляка :)
I'm also from Russia, Moscow, and what you say is so true, especially about the thing with the knowledge of cursing. What is there to be proud of?? But when people really know some nice inside information about our country (like authors, apart from Tolstoy, songs and history) it is really something special. Seems like it's a common thing for us, slavs, to think that way.
You know she's polish when she can drink 2 times more than you - so accurate But I can actually drink 4 times more than anyone. Half-polish, half-russian here.
Very nice! I'm russian and i also hate stereotypes about vodka. I hate vodka... And i don't know anyone my age who would really enjoy drinking vodka... Maybe some good beer or good wine.
Im Polish and I dont like vodka but I guess it isnt supposed to be tasty. Anyway every time I end up at the party we drink at least a bottle per person. It's just a custom here I guess.
Perhaps you should join a university society or a club where you could meet smart and humble men, I think thats the best way instead of clubbing as people go to night clubs with the intention of sex not love.
Love it! Here in the Netherlands a lot of people see Poles as just another group of immigrants, however they are a lot more than that. Their culture and language is beautiful. I've been to Poland, loved it too. People are friendly, cities are lovely there. I wish people would be more open minded!
You're welcome lillion:) and yes you are totally right naivegedanke! Poles are good people, they don't make trouble, they work hard. They know the meaning of "respect", something that sadly a lot of other people don't know

I am Irish but really do love the average Polish girl. I have been 4 times in Polska. But I think Polish girls have something I cannot describe. Yes amazing funny witty personalities. But also something mysterious that I could fall in love with.
I have been waiting for the Polish episode for ages, thank you! It was very entertaining as always and as a Polish woman I think it's mostly on point, well done! :)
I lived in Ireland for 2 years and I learned so much from Irish people...especially being nice to strangers and have a smile much more often than we have here in Poland. That is something I tried to do here after coming back....(but maybe with the exception of young men cause they do not understand it "in the friendly way"..... ;D). Best Regards for you!

Great video, I'll have to share it with my son as he's 23 and will be living with us in Poland (leaving in 12 days from Canada). We're so excited. The food part of this video is exactly what my mother would lay out for guests, my gosh I didn't realize how much polish I had in my blood as I relate to so much of what she does. I was raised with traditional old country values and lost them here in the West. That's why I'm heading to Poland, to rediscover our family roots. So exciting!

@@evaartnlife3140 Sadly no, not yet, but it is somewhere I've always wanted to visit, as it is very Slavic, with rich history and beautiful architecture in the cities, and of course nature, and it was an empire, so everything is so big. it's because of long friendship between both nations, there's an old Polish saying: Polak, Węgier - dwa bratanki i do bitki i do szklanki, oba zuchy, oba żwawi, niech im Pan Bóg błogosławi. that somebody translated like that: Lengyel, magyar - két jó barát, Együtt harcol s issza borát, Vitéz s bátor mindkettője, Áldás szálljon mindkettőre.

I'm a black American and I've always enjoyed the company of Polish people even 2nd generation polish americans. They have a fairness and pleasantries about them. Atleast that's my experience.
@Speed Junkie Remember the WW1 and the Central Powers? The countries which were then in Austro-Hungarian domain are Central European, and the ones which were in the Russian domain are Eastern European. Poland and Ukraine were split between the two blocks, so they are historically both, but in a cultural sense Poland is more unambigouously a part of Central Europe, with the Catholic religion, latin script and so on. The reason why the inhabitants of slav countries tend not to like being called Eastern European is because our countries were incorporated into the Eastern Block against the wishes of much of their populace and it took us 50 years to get out of it. The other reason is that the biggest Eastern European country and also the biggest point of reference here is Russia and we like to be perceived as distinct from Russians. We share many similarities with Russians, but still we are different peoples and don't like to be lumped together with them. P.S. Lithuania and Latvia much like Poland in this regard, having been parts of both Eastern Prussia and Russian Empire, and Estonia is a Finnic country which could be considered a part of Northern Europe.
@@M-CH_ This sounds right. As an American of Polish descent, this is essentially the same explanation I heard from previous generations who came here from Poland. They did (and do) not like their culture being conflated with Russia.
And you are right! 🙂 Many people say that Poland is east Europe and they often compare us to Russian people and we don't like it because we have a little bit different personality and also living stardards in our country are different. We are also Slavic but there are many differences between us.

Tell me about it. Used to date a Polish girl and by far the best ex gf I've had. We had really good chemistry together. Can be feisty and moody, but she was educated, caring, smart, and loving. Only reason we broke up is she had to move back to Gdansk.

The DDR doesn't exist anymore and modern Germany doesn't "consist" only of that country. Also, the mentality in Germany is closer to the mindset in other western European countries, which is why it isn't a part of eastern Europe.

You will always remember her, but you can't even spell her name. If there is any 'Johanna' in Poland, than she is definaetly not polish.
@@AsterFoz never saw her name written down. She just told me. How should it spell?
@@marcobattaglino871 Joanna.
@@AsterFoz thanks!
Why didn't you ask her out?
I had a girlfriend from Jelenia Góra for many years. This is a very accurate video...and yes, she could drink me under the table. But I gained family respect as soon as I was able to hold my Wodka and learn to communicate in broken Polish :-)
Boże, kocham Polaków, kulturę polską i Polskę. Jestem taki szczęśliwy, że teraz jest częścią mnie., Pewnego dnia będę nawet uczył się mówić po polsku w pół przyzwoity sposób.... one day :-)

It's so nice to read things like this :)
By "w pół przyzwoity sposób", do you mean learning to say obscene things or speaking at a quite decent level?

Oddly, this exact thing happened with me recently. Although I was begging my Polish girlfriend to let me lie down after throwing up in the toilet 🤷♂️
I was shouting “Nie, Nie, Nie!”

I am Puerto Rican and I have many Polish friends and they I must say Polish people have world class hospitality, they take pleasure in feeding you all you can eat and giving you drinks. The food is always awesome too. ...in my opinion Polish women are some of the sexiest in the world and they are wife material.
_ sus mujeres son hogareñas??_
Nice to read it! Thank you, bro!
Gracias amigo. Soy polaco y todo lo que has escrito es verdad. Saludos de Polonia
women aren't 'materials'
I’m Peruvian and yes you are right they are friendly and heavy drinkers hahah that I couldn’t compete with them
Polish women have a strong personality.
We must add, that Polish women are also rude and arrogant.
DON'T FUCKING STARE AT ME! Actually i am studying law and administration at the same time but arrogant and rude maybey 🤣

@@teaaddict813 no jednak bardziej centralna
@@teaaddict813 It's in the middle of Europe. Google and Wikipedia says it's central. Religiously (catholic), geographically (middle), culturally (west culture), politically (Visegrad), and even linguistically (west-slavic) it's in Central Europe.
In the 70s? Eastern Europe? Women, studying? I wish. It might be like it now, but unfortunately it wasn't always that way :) Np
I don’t know anyone from Poland but I respect the country for what it has been through. Greetings from USA 🇺🇸

Married to polish woman...and even though she’ll deny all the superstition stuff she still does it! Can’t wait to show her.
Black cats? Ladders? Spilling salt? Thresholds? Broken mirrors?
Shrug
Another one has to do with doors. She hates closing doors. Door are always open. She can’t give me a good explanation why doors must always stay open.

I thought Polish prefers to be called Central European to Eastern European.
Because we do!
0:55 "...than their Eastern European counterparts" = whatever Polish is, it's not Eastern European.

Politically eastern ? WHAT XD
Poland had been under the influence of USSR during the Cold War, making it an Eastern European country.
So was the DDR. Is Germany ever called Eastern Europe??
This should be mentioned in this video "never ever call polish girl an eastern European"
The DDR doesn't exist anymore and modern Germany doesn't "consist" only of that country. Also, the mentality in Germany is closer to the mindset in other western European countries, which is why it isn't a part of eastern Europe.

This is so scarily accurate coming from a polish descended woman. Can you do DATING A POLISH MAN Next?
i dated a polish girl in san francisco. yeah, she was american, but nope, she was actually polish. i'm scots-irish and i do appreciate my heritage, but joanna, she was on a way different level of national pride. on the back of her calculator, she had a decal of the polish flag. she would start to sing the polish national anthem when the soccer team was playing anywhere on tv, and yeah, we had to go to a sport's bar to watch some god damn polish team get trounced. she cursed in polish, she read polish magazines, she teleconferenced with her grandma in poland once a week, she would criticize all american food as being nowhere as good as polish food.
she was also gorgeous, highly intelligent, loving, and incredible in the sack. but i left the area, and her, which was not a good idea. i hope she's happy and found that family she always wanted....
most of them are b1t$hes

as a Polish woman a fan of this channel I've been waiting for this episode and I'm glad to say this video is accurate, everyone has heard stereotypes about vodka and regional foods but the other aspects are so true, especially the part about superstitions, I would say it's more of a habit than anything else though
When you are from Ukraine and you understand everything she says))
Ukrainian? Nice. I follow a ukrainian TH-camr who speaks my language (portuguese from Brazil) and she's nice and so beautiful. Enjoyed your culture and people.
Ukrainian seems to be very close to polish, NastyFore try to listen the song "Hej Sokowy" in Polish and Ukrainian, you will see, it's very cool
@Communist what are you talking about lol go learn history
@Communist you know who betrayed slavs? Russian communists. It's because of them fuckers that whole eastern and central Europe is poor.

Natalia yes. A significant waste of time during university years
I've been there and know this culture a bit. Polish women's way of being and mentality might be the best for me or at least among the best.
We Croats met Poles this year at the sea in Spain. We drank vodka with them all night. Poles are the best people in the world, and Polish women are the most beautiful women in the world. A big greeting to the Polish brothers from Croatia. KURWAAA 🇭🇷🇵🇱
Love my Polish queen, she definately can drink! She definately is super intelligent, thank you GOD for the Polish women!!
In reality alcohol consumption in Poland is fairly moderate by any comparative standards, less than UK for example
Maybe we don't drink often so overall it's more or less the same, but when we do we drink more? Just a theory...
My Hungarian name is 'Lengyel' wich translate to 'Polish' in Hungarian.

Seriously... Polish people don’t eat pierogi and sausage as a party food... wtf... 🙄🤦🏼♀️
Actually i when i lived in Poland, i was in party with pierogis and a lot of ham. That was great! So it can be true
We eat pierogi but other yummy food too szurek, kichone, bigoz and other yummy stuff but at Party you are right we eat different but they showed a bit pierogi is most known and ogurki we like salt or sweet in food thats correct
Love my polish heritage my great great grandparents immigrated here from Poland before WWII

Zsuzsanna Szabó Your name has a very excessive amount of consonants used to simply spell "Susanna".
Dear George, you're right, English alternative of my name is Susana. But zs is pronounced like j in "bonjour". And sz is pronounced like s in "season". A little bit complicated language is ours. :D
Zsuzsanna Szabó My comment is intended to be a joke.
I still think it silly to the point of ridiculous of how excessively Polish Orthography uses consonants. It makes Polish look like an extremely rough, intimidating language to the point where it is very exclusivist, only spoken by ethnic Poles in Poland.
Actually I have no opinion about Polish language, because I guess this was the first time I have heard this language. :D but slavic languages are generally thought to be rough and hard.
Zsuzsanna Szabó Ah, you're Hungarian then. I think your problem there is how incredibly long and complicated your words are, haha.
Thats so lovely. :D

I’ love polish people and their livers of steel , hearts of gold and brain mangling language , thanks for the great video guys.
I *love* pickles, and pickle juice! When I was a young child, I once drank a whole jar of pickle juice. I’m from America, drinking pickle juice is not a normal thing there. I’ve no clue why, it’s delicious!
My dream come true! Finally my country. :)
100% true.
Even way how guy start conversation with Ewa(Poles drink a lot, never smile, one the most popular word) it's so typical.
From 4 years I live in UK and I hear this from most of the people day by day. This stereotypes can be too much sometimes for us. ;)
Thank you so much for this video!
☺
Xxx
You're very welcome, Sylwia.
And yes - I can imagine. The "Kurwa" one must come up in every conversation... Even I get it sometimes. (As a Russian... ?!)
Dating Beyond Borders that word is very interesting if you think about it. It depends how you use it can be use as a happy expression when you get something as suprise, but if you are very angry that "r" in "kurwa" can make you realy peaceful 😆 but still polish people use that word too much and when I'm in public places (I live in UK now) and I hear it in conversation I'm pretending I'm not a polish ... sad but true ...
That's true, they never smile. I had to tickle some of them.
Very nice! I see you mixed things up a bit, but there's still a lot of your classic charm in this. Certainly nothing to complain about! :D
The rewind/reply was pretty funny, and definitely allowed you to mix comedy and cuteness. Showing the alternate realities where he makes/doesn't make the mistake is probably a bit difficult to film, logistics-wise, but it's very efficient when it comes to final running time. The illustrations of the pet nicknames were also very well-done. Finally, who can say no to superstitions or humorous differences in translations?
Thank you for everything: the quality, the comedy, the realism, the love for your fans, everything. Your videos only get better over time, and I look forward to new videos every Thursday. :) I hope you get to do all the themes you've ever wanted to do.
Thank you Michael ❤
Anytime. Especially Thursdays. ;)
P.S.- I hope you can find some actors from the Baltics. I'll be studying abroad there next year. :D You could probably even do the 'sexiest accents'/'pick-up lines' into the same episode, considering how different they all are...
Lovely video! Waiting for nordic countries :D
