Outs: the distance, figure out how’s the dating process, oh yeah the language barrier Inns: It's such a wonderful experience and both will feel something unique
I'm married to a French woman and I know lots of French women (colleagues, friends, family) and I none are like the girl of this video. Maybe in Paris girls are like that, but there is more of France than Paris.
Perhaps it is because the series tends to deal with an English speaking audience...I dunno...maybe they didn't want to make it more complicated with the suitor speaking French and getting into the differences between Quebec and France...
@@lolaispure4296 most of those residing in Montreal speak french. If not, they should definitely start learning it. Such a beautiful language, can't see why people wouldn't want to learn it.
This will get lost in the comments but here is my French girl dating story: I had a French girlfriend when I was 19-20 years old and living in France. She wasn’t from Paris. French girls who aren’t from Paris are easy and fun to date. They’re direct, warm, they like to cook (and eat!), and they are generally just absolute sweethearts. She was a kind and gentle person. She had such a soft heart. Thats what I loved about her. I called her my “princesse Savoyarde” (she was from Haute-Savoie lol)... she pretended to be annoyed but she loved it when I called her that Sometimes, usually when I feel lonely or sad, I miss her a lot. I think of when we first kissed, on that train platform on that December night. I think of how adorably frustrated she looked when struggling to speak English to me... until I would gently kiss her forehead and ask her to just say it in French. Anyways. That’s it, thanks for reading I guess. Those were happier days for me. Things in my life were a little... clearer. I’m glad I have those memories.
As a french man, I can admit that some girls are likely the same that in the video but indeed especially in Paris ^^' But it's a bit exaggerated, just be fun with her and it should work
To be honest, this does not sound like a pleasant experience....constantly having to tip toe around what you say even when giving compliments and her being intentionally cold and disinterested towards you at certain times does not sound like a healthy relationship.
Clara Dreams (I’m American) I think the honesty shown in the video is smothering kindness. When the girl knows that she was misinterpreting what he was saying, she still allowed herself to do so, unfairly to him. Yes she was trying to be blunt, but it was _her_ getting emotional, her exerting her emotions too much. Why can’t honesty come with kindness instead of blowing up?
@@jukihiw In my point of vue, I think she was being passionate about what she was saying but I don't think she was mad at HIM. Like for exemple, if someone says something that reminds me of a subject that I really care about, I will probably start a debate about it immediatly and say all that comes to my mind without trying to be kind. But I expect the others to do the same in return, to give me their very honest opinion, and after that we can talk and the debate will calm down naturaly.
And it doesn't matter if it comes from a misunderstanding because by having a debate, at least you will have the opportunity to really understand the other and hopefully you'll never misunderstand him again on this subject.
Clara Dreams But saying all that comes on your mind without trying to be kind, is a lack of self-control. Almost childish to me. (I’m not trying to call you childish, just saying what it sounds like, I’m being very genuine and not demeaning). That doesn’t seem like an effective style of communication-sounds like it’ll just start a fight for everyone but the absolute most patient people on earth
Actually, historically and by definition, *Paris is France!* Because Paris was the beginning of French expansion and consolidation, and the region around the capital is even called "Île-de-France"!
No. So No, that the former capital of France was Orleans, so, again, No. Paris is a microcosm of arrogant and superficial peoples full of pride, not living real life.
I'm half French and couldn't date a French woman if she gets upset about calling her outfit feminine. Life's too short not to appreciate a kind hearted compliment.
This was sooo on spot haha, well done ! Just for the confused people, here's what to remember from it : - We say what's on our minds - We are 100 % exclusive from the start - French relationships are about NOT over thinking things or following guide lines. If something feels natural, do it, if not, abstain. We hate clichés, douchebags and complicated people ;)
I love the idea that dating is serious, and you are automatically not seeing other people! I wish it was more of a thing where I live, but people seem to think it is 'holding each other back' or something. In a way, I think the new 'non exclusive' dating culture is what makes everyone terrified to date. Because if everyone is dating multiple people, how do you know you will be 'picked', and how can you concentrate enough on getting to know the other person?
You don't know you will be picked. You don't know that even if you're exclusive from the start. The person could decide you're not the right one for them. This is whole point of the dating period, to find out if you like each other and are compatible. Sexual and dating exclusivity when you've just started dating someone doesn't make any sense.
@@theprousteffect9717and that is exactly why Americans have a terrible love life. Unless they do it thru their smaller cultures (church, family friends, etc) it usually doesn’t work out. You are an amorphous blob with no direction, no rules, and no cohesion. You treat dating like it’s some corporate job. And then you wonder why your most attractive men don’t even bother marrying with women from your country 😂
In Poland we also don't have that "how are you, I'm fine" culture. If I ask my friend how was his day he will be honest with me and tell me what was good and what was bad. For Polish people always smiling and pretending that everything is ok when it's not is fake. Gretting from Poland🇵🇱😍 ;) I love the French girl
Is this really how foreigners see us? Please don't think all women in France are like this because it's not true. I'm a french woman and I can't relate to this woman. We are not all arrogant and we don't argue for no reason.
Hi S (Sofía) I hope you see this. I'm kind of afraid 😨 of dating a frensh girl. I felt like it was an immigration interview rather than dates. I thought 💭 that French girls were more soft smiley and romantic. In the video 📹 she "killed him" by her behavior like: "I DON'T LIKE THE CHOICE OF WINE 🍷 THAT YOU PICKED"...:o I mean if someone really tries their best why be like that COLD ❄ to someone that doesn't know the culture that well but tries his best. How that you can explain a little bit about this please. Hugs and love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Caracol Caracolito Hi, I can assure you that in France, someone who answer to someone else's effort to please her like she did is considered as a jerk. I think the point here, which has been shown badly, is that a french woman will most probably tell you when you do something 'wrong'. But only when you've been together long enough (never in the begining of the relationship, when you are just exploring eachother), it is done in a nice way, not to hurt her partener feelings, and she actually expect him to do the same. This is to prevent any misunderstanding in the future, honnesty toward eachother is part of respect and essential for the relationship to last. If you want to please her, you would like to know for sure that she is really pleased (because you know her well) not wondering if she just pretend to, to be polite, right ? In the begining of a relationship (like in the video) she will definitely apreciate the effort and be grateful. If you pursue your relationship she will later let you know subtlely (or not 😅) what her real taste is, so that you know and that next time she says 'I love it' she means it 😉
A little piece of Jimin that floats in the air Hi. I think the last thing you said is wonderful: that she would tell you later what she thinks. And I agree with you that is the thing to do. :3 I travel a lot so I was dating a girl and (sorry to say) but I almost tripped over the fucking big carpet at the entry of an shopping mall so my hand "bumped" into her butt (I was looking for something to hang on to). And of course I felt so embarrassed 😳 but she smiled at me and quietly said "it's OK" she took muy arm under her arm and we kept walking. Another time in a dark environment (it was dark outside and dark in the car 🚙) and I was looking to touch her hand or grab her fingers gently buuuuut my hand ended up close to her upper part of her thigh (where the intimate private space of a woman begins) and I can Assure everyone that are reading 📖 this: is not sexy at all. 😢 😢 I guess I just wanted to cry and die and be at the other part of the world 🗺. And in those seconds you start to think stupid things because you are nervous for several reasons (other part of the world 🗺 other cultures and ways of thinking more conservative ways of thinking etc) mainly because you are on a Rendezvous that turns out to take the shape of a date. So she treated me nicely softly softly softly (I was stiff in my whole body looking out the window of the car 🚙 planning the nearest exit and escape route from there...xD) we talked about something and I guess at some point you have to turn back and look at her which I did and when we was about to say goodbye to each other we leaned forward and cheek to cheek to do the "kiss in the air" -thing while we went back from the goodbye kiss our noses 👃 slightly touched each other, we said something for the sake of saying lol 😂 again we where about to say goodbye and after the second goodbye kiss she kissed me at my cheek, moved her lips from the air to my cheek to my lips and we kissed so slowly and wonderfully. :3 She forgived me regarding my hand 🖐 error and of course one could argue that she forgived me because she liked me, that maybe a girl that is not in to the guy would be more cold and non forgiving. And girls look at what I am about to say: it's so damm fu+*@#ing HOT 🔥 when a girl is cute understanding treats you nice witha set of details (touch you arm hands smiles "Says with a voice of caring: " I can get that for you cutie 🤗 😘") But my point is that you girls should try to be more careful and forgiving because most guys are really TRYING they are nervous the heart ♥ is pumping not LITERS of blood in the body it's pumping ⛽ TONS of blood because the guy could be NERVOUS...😂 So all girls heads up here because if we are talking about "Dating across the borders" it's more hard to date, than when you are in your own country. My tips are: Be extra: careful forgiving mindful. It's like courtesy with a touch of gentleness and politeness. :) Because a lot of people are so angry (for example in some comments on the internet) and I think that when you date over boarders you should be able to try to be more sweet to each other regardless if it is a date or if it is another X event. I was in France as a kid and was so nice because I bumped in to two girls my age at that time (15) and we where using a lot of: "oui oui suede passport oui oui :D" and it was so nice because frensh people in that time usually didn't liked to speak 🔊 English so those girls really did an big effort to communicate. It's sweet. Hugs 🤗 to all kind mindful French people out there. Viva 🙌 France 🇫🇷
I am French from the northern in a country side this is just a huge cliche the Parisian women are not all the French women 😁 🙄😉as Paris is not the entire France so will be great if the foreigners go in an other places in our wonderful country where people live like real French with our traditional food natives languages and culture and not the cliches for tourist 😡
Yes you are right, I heard it from many people living 2 years In Paris after I move to small city in country side but it were the same .since 2016 I didn't had sex in France. Shame on french women's.
I took French in college and our TA was from Paris She once told me that she was confused about American dating That she didn’t understand why we had to make it official She said “shouldn’t you just know” lol
yeah that happen also in italy, if you ask a girl out you just say "do you wanna go for a beer or a drink" and it's understood that is date even if it's not said specifically
This may be a bit generalistic...but I've heard that once you've made a friend with a French person...you've made a friend for life. Many tend to be very loyal friends. I've met one French person and he's super cool and definitely a friend for life.
En disant ce type de commentaire, Tu affirmes ton individualité et ton opinion, Confirmant donc les points abordé de la vidéo .... Cliché ? et bien peut être pas finalement !
Yes, permanently analyzing and reacting to what she expects, and there is no filter, so it may hurt self estime according to your culture. Two important words simple and direct, no séduction too obvious rules. You must show she is unique and expect you to to behave "naturellement". We hate techniques. What is fine in this video is that when you see her eyes, women signals, men have to decode it, act, decode reactions and so on. It may become difficult when a girl is playing with you and you don't understand we're she is going.
I've read a lot of comments about how difficult dating a french girl seems to be ... so let's just say yes : most french girls will speak their minds whenever they feel like it ... just like french men actually. To us frenchies, this is not about complaining or ranting all the time, but rather about HAVING an OPINION. When we share our opinion, we french people, do not mean any harm or anyhting. Most of the time we're mostly curious. We want to know your thoughts about our opinions and we usually leave the conversation open, so you can share your own ideas as well if you feel like it. When the girl in the video reacts to the idea of a "dress being more feminine than pants", she doesn't mean to lash at her boyfriend, but instead she tells him her opinion about the matter. In the end she basically says:" I don't need to wear dresses to feel like a woman." A sensible french boyfriend would have LISTENED to her, instead of just being offended by her "feminists reaction". At this point, a boyfriend is not expected to apologies or anything, because this is where he is supposed to share his own opinions instead. He could have said: "Of course, you look gorgeous in pants too , that's not the point ! The point is: seeing you in a dress turns me on even more. Maybe it makes me old fashionned, but that's just how I feel !" So in the end of this conversation, what do we have ? We have 2 human beings who just shared their opinion about dresses. The girlfriend now knows she might put on a dress to please her boyfriend. The boyfriend knows she is an independent woman who will not let any man tell her how to dress ... and he could also have a look at Simone de Beauvoir's writtings, even just to show how interested he is in her opinions. In a word, they get to know each other ! What's could be wrong about it ?
I got a lot of comments from you saying that while you agree with the points, it seems like there is not a lot of positive about dating a French woman. I would have to say that while making the videos I try not to think "Ah! Now I have to put something positive". I try to present each culture with as much honesty as I can. It saddens me to read comments like "Well, now I will never date a French woman again" since that is not at all what I was trying to show. I love that you take my videos so seriously, but come on, guys! Sure, French women are generally quite opinionated and individualistic but that doesn't mean you cannot now compliment her for fear she will give you a speech on feminism or order wine for her without her making a face. These are just examples and should not be taken this seriously. It is just something to make a point, not the Holy Grail. Just enjoy and don't avoid a whole culture because of one video. ;)
Seriously, i watched all single video in this account but i dont know why, this one is really the worst one. eg i really enjoyed Russian Turkish Chiness Israil Greek Indian
It seems people took the point. "Individualistic and opinionated" are nice ways of saying they will preach at you, and are intolerant to others' views. Though to be honest, I always thought it was worse in the USA (at least, areas like California).
Classic Marina: funny, tongue-in-cheek, and not afraid to talk about anything. ;) Well-made, as always, good acting, and I'm glad your new cameraman(woman?) is working out for you. Andrew's departure hasn't diminished the quality of your videos one iota. :D Some suggestions for future content: if you do a video about Norwegian men, look up the youtube channel 'Pistolshrimps.' Those guys are hilarious, and maybe they'll do a parody on their channel. ;) Another idea is 3 things men/women love about the opposite sex, and 3 things men/women love it when the opposite sex does them. It'll be neat to see what is consistent across cultures, and what differs. Best luck with your next video! :D
Dating Beyond Borders it's not bad being opinionated if you're educated on what you're saying and have a big real criteria with a lot of culture. The problem is if you're feminazi opinionated and all your arguments are related to 'feminism' or feminazism hembrism, misandric view of point, that's the problem because even the mostly percent of women see 'feminism', feminazism as something negative and fuck up. I have the idea that French specially parisin people are well educated and had rich knowledge in everything like history, literature, geography, science, food, everything in general, like Germans but more, so of course everybody will be opinionated and it's justified as all I have said, not like Americans because they're all opinionated but they're ignorant, neurotic, stupid and stubborn, and it's all about they're personal agenda they want to impose to everyone, they're like politicians always in campaign but speaking of things they doesn't know in a very hysterical, neurotic and emotional sick way. But with French I think is quite the opposite maybe they're opinionated because they know what are they talking about, but Paris people like to complain more than usual, I see on this that can be turned in to a positive things, if you're responsible citizen that get involve I'm the politics of your country maybe you can take it seriously and act to make changes for the benefit of the people, not like in Mejico that everything is funny, you have to always relate everything with a joke, everything is jajajajajajajajajajajaja and no one take things seriously to act and change the country, but that's how social engineering works and we're designed here, so the famous brave and tough legendary Mexican revolutionary can be extinct, and it's a happy world like Aldous Huxley predicted. So I think it's not bad to be opinionated like French people just not be a freaking grinch or a feminazi, or like an American idiot. And in relation with the mind games stuff, in Mejico girls do it, test the men to knowing, but with the Base of romance and love, respect and not going to far, or that use to be after feminazism because younger generations has problems of not going to far with that, or be prejudicial about it depending of the state or city, and pretty or good looking chics usually are more open or free and just let themselves go in romance that the ones are kind of pretty or are normal or ugly. By the way I'm withe we're not all monkeys, depends of the region that you're you will find a prevalence of withe or brown people, is not the same the north that the south that the occidental part of the country. But Europeans in general are very welcome, well everybody except for gringos Americans we hate them, and Peruvian they're stupid, porteños from Argentina, and also I particularly I don't like south Koreans, they like to come with their factorys and slave people, children, teens, women, beating up their employees, arrestment women, and is not one or three companies it's more. Well, have you a video of dating a Mexican men?, you can't make a video with migrants on USA, they're usually very ignorant about their own country Mejico because the lack of education that's why they're there, and different region different type of men, and in the region between states or cities are differences, so you better come here because we're all different, brown are different than withe Mexicans, the North men are different from the ones from the south or center or occident, Mejico has almost the size of Europe. If you don't want or can struggle much focus on the withe men of the center, Querétaro, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, or maybe just take Guadalajara if you don't have time or resources, and don't take a brown guy ass example because they're ugly and a freaking stereotype that gringos believe religiously that we all are and it's misinformation, and it's annoying.
The only French girls I have ever dated were from southern France - Lyon and Languedoc. I met them in Mexico. They were very different than the French girls, described in this program. They did not wear heavy makeup. They were not moody or confrontational at all, but very definitely independent. Delightful to be around from dawn to dusk. They had very pleasant dispositions. The one thing that surprised me was that they constantly had a cigarette or joint in their hands, except when eating, doing physical activities or playing a musical instrument. I thought that was a little odd. They were "lady like" actually sexy in their smoking, but didn't quite understand, why they needed to smoke so much.
Dating Beyond Borders I never understood why people love our culture so much but it's funny to see it ourself from an outsider's point of view, really, I have a stupid smile every time 😂
I’m Canadian but my family is french and so I grew up with french culture and when I started dating my girlfriend I never asked her out and never thought twice about it because I thought that we were already a thing but she told me a few months into our relationship that I never asked her out and so I ended up having to ask her out and make it “official”. It wasn’t a big deal at all but it just shows the culture differences between French culture and North American culture.

I dated a French woman for about 2 years. I think this depiction is pretty accurate, however, there were some slight differences which may be because she was from an older generation than the woman in this video. She was very sexual and she certainly didn't mind compliments about her femininity. In the end though, we just lived too far apart. However, I loved her ability to read emotions in other people. I felt her emotional intelligence was quite high. Like any country, you will find assholes and princesses.
As an Australian dude, with a beautiful French partner, I felt this! The biggest clash of cultures relationship wise 😂❤️. But I can say at least in my case French girls are worth it! But you left out getting used to how often you’ll be required to talk about food
Hey all! Ok - so you have been asking me for 2 years for this video and I'm happy to say I finally made it. As you can see I went all the way to Paris. Just for one day. Seriously. So if you are here just to say "Make a (insert country) woman video" or "I'm still waiting on (insert country) video" let's just take a pause on demanding and leave me a thoughtful comment about this one first ;) It was not an easy one to make.
I know there are a lot of people complaining in the comments, but I think people are overlooking the common thread between these clips. French women have a genuine nature. In every regard they are being honest about how they feel and in what they want. There is no second guessing if the really liked the flowers they were given or they food they were eating. They prefer something else? They say as much. So many complain about women in the U.S. saying they're "Fine." or "I'm okay." When it's clear they aren't, but they see an example of woman who is actually clear about what she feels and are complaining about that too? If you are a person that complains about women not being clear about what they want while also complaining about women who *are* clear about what they want then please understand that *you* are the person unnecessarily complaining, not these women. If you are not a person that does this, then this doesn't apply to you.

She wants to play hard to get and have the man do all the approaching for her... but wants to be completely disassociated with being "feminine" and takes offense when she's told she looks lady-like. Sounds like an entitled brat to me.
As a European, I was just shocked by Canadians trying to date several girls at the early stages and picking the best one. I just can't understand it with my mentality
I’m an American, and I’ve never understood that mentality either. Then again, I’ve always felt like a foreigner in many ways living here. I’ve never been interested in Americans. This kind of mentality towards dating is the consumerism mentality applied to all ways of living here. It’s all incentivized on the end, illusive reward. It’s by far the most programmed place in the world, which makes sense. A country of immigrants (at least the major cities), they take advantage of the broken roots and broken families, lack of community and connection, and spackle it with instant gratification through materialism, artificial food, and sparkly things on the surface to mend the lack of true happiness. Makes for great profits. Americans shop for their fantasy mate in the same way. It’s very weird, dating is akin to a job interview in many ways. “What can I get out of you?”
@@ChristineNavarroTV Right? It’s so funny and ironic because there’s this stereotype that Americans have of the French, I.e. having side pieces and the spouse know but look away, yet that is what our culture does. We may or may not know if people date others and it’s a mystery and we are suppose to be okay with the outcome. It drives people like myself crazy.
I don't understand the shock. What's wrong with finding out who has the most suitable qualities, or who is the most virtuous or even the best sense of humour? If you're going to start a family with someone, for the children's sake, you need to make the best possible decision you can. After all, you'd interview several potential candidates for a waitressing job in your restaurant wouldn't you, yet not the same rigour for someone who was to be the mother of your children?
@@jayaybe1 Cuz for workplaces, nothing is really personal and everything is explicitly geared towards quantifiable ends (earning money and profitting)! Finding a spouse is far more personal and involves also qualitative things you cannot just address with statistics/the scientific method...
I am the kind of French girl that say "I hate French clichés", but I do like this video. I think it's fun, and quite accurate in fact. A bit caricatural but that's the case with all of these videos, so I don't mind. Thank you for all your hard work, I'm looking forward your next video :)
I dont understand the number of negative comments. Personally I love to date the women such as the one in the video. She has her own opinion on everything and can argue with you on different topics so you are never bored with her. Definitely better than some dumb chick who only cares about Gucci and her manicure.
Paul V. Arguing is one thing, nagging is another, I don't hate an intelligent woman who has her opinions on things and can put them forward in an intelligent manner but the woman portrayed here was just butthurt over everything and seemed to be terrible at arguments.
If you like to argue too, you will eventually block about a disagreement. Dont' go to France. Eastern European women are sexier and more faithful. Do try Eastern Europe.
well, am not French, but as a grown Azz woman, I wouldn't like a man going around Dating multiple women at the same time until he chooses one to be with exclusively. Like what's that? The Bachelor? I am not your toy. like, what culture even endorses that?
Rosa I always considered if you go out once. and plan to go out on another date.its exclusive!!! I never understood why other guys need to date more than one woman. I want to get to know the woman I'm seeing. You can not do that when you seeing 2,3 or more ! That's just me though. Some of the things that guys do that are "wrong" or offensive. Like in these videos . I am thinking why would you do that!!! It's just a matter of being respectable and treat others like you want to be treated! I do line these videos though!!
yeah that's crazy most people (guys? haha) here in the comment section are reacting about the girl's behavior, which is obviously a cliché to be fun. But no one seems to be shock about what the man says. And then they insults feminist? I don't understand...
I feel this clip sums up the stereotypes of Parisian people: quite confrontational, moody and often complaining about anything. Yes, it is true that a lot of people are actually like that in Paris, but that's a generalization and there is also a lot of people that are very relatable, kind, well-educated, curious and sociable. I lived in Paris for almost two years and after the initial cultural shock it wasn't too hard to quickly fit in, have a social circle of friends, a girlfriend and be happy. But a very important thing to keep in mind is that if you live in France you must learn French, and this is not a small detail. Learning the language there is an absolutely mandatory skill, unlike anywhere else in the world: for some reason, most French people seem to really HATE having to speak English and sometimes even when they are english speakers they literally refuse to communincate in any Language except French. Unless you learn French you will likely not fit in. But when you fit in, voila, you are in a great place full with interesting people.
I would like to explain why we hate to speak english. We find our accent so bad and the english way of articulate is not natural at all for us. It's like we feel as disabled people when we do (if we are not used to).
@@behemoth8399 Thank you for your explanation. But that's exactly the same feeling everyone else has when speaking in another language: Italians, Spanish, Portuguese, all of us have a hard time pronouncing the "alien" sounds of English language. Still, we don't refuse to speak English when someone who doesn't speak our language addresses us in English. I've have had this strange experience only in France (well, only in Paris, to be precise). And it was not a single episode: it was something that happened almost systematically. I may be wrong, but I had the strong feeling that this "resistence" has something to do with something almost ideological, that may be summarized as "When in France, French is the language, period". But this is just my impression, so I may be wrong. According to some friends of mine from France, another possible explanation may be that French used to be the "lingua franca", before English replaced it, and there is some kind of resentment about it.
@@emiquetzalkoala4288 As a French dude grown up in Burgundy and living in Paris for 4 years, I'm pretty sure you are wrong on the point "in France you speak French" mentality, it's a common mistake. It may exist but marginally. I don't personally know people who would refuse to answer in english except the ones whose english is very bad. I do think parisians might be tired to repeat the same thing without be understood and they don't want to lose time, plus there are a lot of french words in the english language so it often happens to us to be understood while speaking french, the less trained of us would very often try (that's why you will often hear french people in the US try to express them in french). Then people in France are often prouds and don't want to look ludicrous particularly parisians. I don't think it is always the same feeling for all languages, I don't feel it when I try to speak spanish or deutsch, more for russian. I think it really is a way to articulate which is very demanding for us.
Well I am myself french and I dont find us particularly crazy or scary (that is just my opinion of course) but I get that people may not be used to us because of our tendency to speak our minds and be quite blunt! I personally see it as a strengh because I do not refrain from being myself just because people don't like it! French girls (even though everyone is different) may show an exterior that look cold or bitchy from what I gathered in the comments but they are just normal and loving when you get to know them! The thing about religion is really an issue I ve not encountered yet! And as for feminism it is also completely exagerated in the video ! But yeah we re nice at heart!😊
To be honest I don't see how the feminist thing has become a whole debate. To me (french adult man (I specify because on the itnernet you never know...)) the feminist mindset is a mark of lack of confidence and need for validation. So not that good in my opinion and tbh, it's not just my opinion. Now some will like it anyways everyone's got his own take on the subject. Besides, if you feel challenged by such petty things, perhaps you're lacking in confidence :)
As someone who is slowly turning into what the Japaneses may call a hikiko mori, I have nothing to do with dating life, but it's nice knowing the mindsets of people in faraway lands whom I may never encounter. I see nothing wrong with the French girl being herself, but I really don't get the idea of non-exclusive dating. Extremely weird for an Asian mind like me. But hey what do I know.
Actually for many (but not all) French people, exclusive dating is more or less the norm, although I feel like things have been changing for the younger generations. It really baffled me as well when I heard of the concept of "non-exclusive dating", it feels almost like cheating in a way when you're not used to it
There's over 3 billion women on the planet, not hard to cross off French women and go for someone more chill. This coming from someone who did study abroad, an internship, and worked in France for 3 years.
@ItsTheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt Z Well that's weird. In my country there's way more women than men, and in my city the male to female ratio is 1>15. There's actually 6,3 million more women than men.
Wow, I never thought about dating a French women before this video because I always got the impression that they were incredibly arrogant; but I like their approach of relationship. I don't like the North American 'game' mindset and the idea of clear stages. I find the French approach more genuine and natural. Marina, great job again! I like the cast as well- both actors are very likeable. Just one note- the texts at 2:39 and 4:25 were insightful but a bit too long; I needed to pause the video to read them through. Otherwise, the video is very nicely produced. I am looking forward to your next work!
Thank you :) Happy you liked it! And yes -- you are right. It might have been a bit too long. I had so much to say, but I should have toned it down a bit
akx They are incredibly arrogant, they DON'T shower that much and are always making scenes!!! French women are the worse! I'm European and it's well known here you do not want to marry one!
Very cool. A French prof. said French women were wonderful. In the office very professional, after work they were women, they left the office behind. I found French women, the few I had the privilege of meeting and working with, wonderful. Very engaging, affectionate. Even spontaneous and engaging in light chat on the metro. Very little if any, pretence. Thanks for this great blog.
0:18 she replied when you said hello. A real parisian girl would never do that, no she would just pretend you're invisible or look at you as if you slaughtered a litter of cats in front of her.

I'd love to see one on Icelandic men! I have lived in Canada all my life (descended from Portuguese), I have never been to Iceland, never met an Icelander, so I can say without bias that I am absolutely fascinated by them and their country, and would love to see them covered in this series! :D Plus, I've heard some talk that because Iceland is waterlocked, Icelanders don't have much variety and the gene pool is getting smaller and smaller with every generation (I think I heard it said that every Icelander is probably at least 8th cousins with everyone else in the country). Therefore, when a foreigner shows up, Icelandic men take notice and get their dating game on. Now, I'm not sure if that's completely true, I guess I would need someone from Iceland to confirm for me, BUT if that really is true, that bodes well for this single girl if she ever decides to finally visit Iceland...
The young go to the night clubs, US American culture, small chance if you are French ! If you are lucky, somebody can meet you, drink something, talk to you, and ask you 15' after "Do you want to go out with me ?" :-D . They say it gets more complicated after. Quite open about sex, there is a museum of penises and they don't mind if you are homosexual. 37 % divorce rate, maybe more when the time of death has come. Highly repectful of women, a legacy of matriarcal families, as in many cold countries. Women and men wages tend to be equal, at least in big companies. They work when it's cool and enjoy reading close to a good fire in the winter.
Totally agree. And yes - I gotta admit, I cheated it with this one. I could not for the life of me find a non-French actor so we had to get a French one!
One thing about women in france is that as a man, if you critcise a woman, people will not like it, even if your girlfriend cheated on you. You're supposed to chill and not complain...
Thank you for the video! It was fantastic! I was one of the people asking for 2 years i'm sure or at least one. Thank you again, most fun videos on TH-cam to watch!
Thank you for saying that!!! What a great thing to hear. Yeah - I have been going crazy over this one and couldn't find a French actress for a long time. I am happy I waited to film it in Paris. It's just a whole other experience.
To people saying French women are basically announcing, they only speak their mind. So yes they complain but if you spoke your mind wouldn’t you? They just basically say what they think stop saying they’re just a pain in the ass
Ok as a french woman I can say that french women are much more cheerfull and smiling than that. I would find really lame to say that a dress is feminine indeed, but wouldn't react crazy and bringing Simone de Beauvoir in the conversation like that would be considered to be ridiculus,
I'm French and I agree with the exclusive thing, we prefer to try one person at a time, and we are not in a rush to find someone at all cost as soon as possible. And the complaining, I have done it on purpose in the past in a way of "testing" the guy, to see what is his way of replying to negativity but maybe that's just me
been here for years and this is on point!!!! French women are hopeful romantics and dating doesn't exist here at all! either you're together or you're not!!! They play hard to get but they're not that hard...they love to go out to eat so you better take her out!! I'd call them faithful... but since french people complain a lot expect her to be very naggy or as we say in french "CHIANTE" ... LOOL
"you are together or you are not".well, what did you expect? do you want to play games? going around dating as many women as u want? Ain't nobody got time for that
Oh my God. I'm French of African descent, and it is SCARY how I tend to have the same overintellectural reactions. Living overseas for like 14 years taught me to tone down the opinionated stream though...I'm getting there. >__
"be prepared for the hot and cold responses" Have had this with French, Danish, and Italian women. I met some French girls in Berlin, and one had a good vibe with me but we couldn't get together. I tried to keep in touch with her, texted her in the months followed, never a response. But when I went to Paris and met up with a friend of hers... her friend said the other girl wanted to come and join us. She never showed up! This pretty much NEVER happened in the US. The girls either are interested or not. They will get back to you within 1 text.
To all of you that think french women are just annoying, complain to much let me remind you that everyone complains in France so don't judge them for their culture. It's their way of expressing their emotions help her think about something else or get over it. Also to those thinking that French women need too much work I'd remind you that it's like anything in life, you have to put in the work if you want it. Don't get me wrong they don't see themselves superior to any other woman they just expect you to show her what you feel, they want to feel special just like any woman in the world and aren't afraid to ask for it. Like the video said there's no "Dating" which means you don't go on dates to "see how it goes" or if you develop feelings but you go on dates BECAUSE you have feelings for her and want to be her boyfriend. This also why they don't always like being hit on by strangers because they assume there's no way that guy has feelings for me he just wants a one night stand unless of course that's what they're looking for. I'll also remind you that everything complicates when passion is involved, you wouldn't be fascinated by it otherwise.
QueenLeo Bagpack It certainly plays a part in spreading the negative thoughts that's for sure. Although I don't think that it would be the main reason as it is considered okay to be unhappy about something? And also if you keep ranting about the same thing you usually get told to do something about it or to stop complaining. It depends on what you're complaining about too. Imo what creates it is more likely to be the societal pressure and standards that are taken a lot more seriously therefore you can quickly feel out of "the norm". The school system is very competitive too which doesn't help younger people that are still trying to find themselves. In France if you don't know what you wanna do around 18 you are gonna feel very lost and there no such a thing as "I'll see how it goes" Just an example if you are trying to get a job and that you took a gap year in your studies you are gonna have to justify yourself to the employeur. Anyway what were the process of the study? Have the subjects been clinically diagnosed as depressed? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the study was bull, it's just we have to take in consideration that complaining and not feeling okay with things is okay in France therefore they might tend to admit being depressed more easily instead of denying it? If you see what I mean? Cheers G'day too you too
C Slg I would go fucking nuts with someone living by me and all day just fucking complaining about the tiniest shit is there nothing better to do in life. I'd throw everyone out of my house
Yes I agree there is better to do than complain but it needs to be put in perspective, that's not all they do. It also depends on the personality of the woman, some complain more than others as in any country. Also what you call "tiniest shit" might not be that tiny for her and actually be a problem. Once you know her a bit more you start reading between the lines and it usually makes it better
bossboy191919 Don't assume they are constantly complaining either. Plus there is complaining and complaining if you see what I mean. Even warm, honest, sweet, loyal, fun girls complain it feels good to every once in a while
@@betespatiotemporelle She is ugly because she is ugly. She compensates her physical ugly with her style and her sociopathic tendencies. Why bother? Lmfao and no, actually coldness and sociopathy doesn't determine good quality. She is indeed a lunatic with a patent. Don't waste your time 😆
Remember when a French woman says she is single, she is not in a stable steady long term relationship but she is still having casual hookups and short term weekend flings, especially when she travels. She can maintain she is single and if she goes on a 4 day trip to Spain or Italy she had a 3 day fling during the trip.
Wow. This wasn't my experience at all when I visited France. The French women I met were some of the warmest, most hospitable people I've ever met. Then again I mainly traveled around Normandy and only interacted with non-Parisians in Paris so maybe this video is more of a Parisian woman thing.
Liar. French women are cold, even in Marseille they run away. Besides, nobody will host you if you are in the street in France. There is no love in France anymore. Don't go to France.
There is a great difference between a girl from Paris and a girl from the other parts of France. Believe me... my father is an expert on this issue...and had explained it to me.
Wow. So much French bashing on here.. To any of my French compatriote who will painfully read through this thread, please keep in mind that it's not representing the opinion of the majority. Being happily married with an American and having lived in different part of the world, I've always and only came across welcoming people with nice words and views about France and French culture, as well as genuine curiosity. As much as I love my adopting country, I miss France and its amazing, complex and unique people dearly. Don't let well-hidden-behind-their-computers haters give you the wrong impression. I know my comment is completely out of context with the video but I felt the need to send some loving thoughts to France and to my fellow French peeps after reading all this hatred. 🌍❤️🇫🇷

here is the thing, ppl are complaining and saying all these bad things about french women, but everything bad they are saying can be found if not worse in American women... And don't say I don't know what I am talking about because I am American and I see this type of behavior everyday.
They are incredibly arrogant, they DON'T shower that much and are always making scenes!!! French women are the worse! I'm European and it's well known here you do not want to marry one!
For those of you who are curious, the conversation at 1:15 went like this : - Black haired girl : "They should have committed suicide elsewhere. I'm so tired of this!" - Guy : "What about cycling, girls?" - Black haired girl : "With hair like that?" - Blond girl : "So what? There are suspicious packages, suicidal people... We can't do anything about it!" I think they're talking about the Paris metro and its delays and cancellations caused by suspicious luggage and suicides. So French people are definitely known to complain a lot and can be quite insensitive at times
This video just made me laugh a lot. I dated a French girl from Bordeaux if thats correct. She was so, romantic? But at the same time kinda crazy, and was so common to talk to her or say smthing maybe she didnt like and hear a "putain" and more French words that you are like... Okay what did you said? "Nothing" :) Also i had those moments where i said smthing she liked and just started to laugh red like a tomato and saying also French words i didnt even understand. French girls are really complicated, but adorables hahaha
There are many different types of persons in each country. The same in France! That girl looks more like the "parisian girl" cliché (not a the type of person that I personally like) than the average french woman ^^
I'm a Vietnamese guy, and I dated an Algerian girl from Marseille... and yeah, everybody says that it's basically "Parisians vs. everyone else" in every aspect of life in France.
It's true that many French folk like to give you a list of every little that's wrong if you ask them, which many Brits find out the hard way given that 'alright?' is a greeting to us and the only appropriate response to 'How are you?' is 'Fine, fine'.
Why so much negativity in the comments, so much random judgement and soooooo many trolls? I don't understand what happened. For all those saying "omg I'm never dating a French girl they are complicated and scary AF" or judging based on ONE person they met ONCE in their lives: as in every country, french people (and french girls) come in all sorts of characters, opinions, and attitudes. This is not rocket science. As such, I'd say a culture changes the way you do things, but not who you are deep down. If there is one thing that the video nailed quite effectively and that seems massively different with the culture in other parts of the world, its that if you are dating a French person, things are much less codified. If you really like the person and both want to go fast, go fast. I would say that makes things much simpler instead of "complicated AF". For those who consider girls to be arrogant. A number of girls (in Paris? Everywhere?) are confident, independent, and strong. That doesn't mean they won't be extremely sweet or gentle, and incredibly into their relationship, or whatever. Is that what you find scary? The fact that they have their own opinions and don't see anything wrong in expressing it, or are not always shy and silent? (This is a real question, I don't understand) Also, judging a country by a (visible) fringe of the inhabitants of its capital (this does not apply to the vidéo but to some of the comments) might not give you the most accurate vision of the country's inhabitants overall. Pour les autres français: j'espère n'avoir froissé les sensibilités de personne, je ne savais pas comment exprimer l'importance de la nuance tout en gardant en tête que oui il y a une différence culturelle. Merci pour la vidéo, c'était bien drôle^^
cloudreaper09 Oftentimes, many seem to conflate independence, strength and confidence with narcissism. And that's a huge, huge problem - not saying you are one of them though.
cloudreaper09 to me, it seems like they (parisian girls) are so arrogant to express their opinions, even with people they love like that poor bastard who has to put up with all that nasty feminist indoctrination. I dont see how being cocky or "strong" makes a girl look atractive, instead I think most guys all over the world would avoid these types of gilrs regardless of their beauty.
@@auroraborealis6398 of course it's my opinion, who else is commenting? du!, however I think you don't know men's psicology at all if you think that most men would find that personality trait attractive, it's annoying on so many different levels (more than 90% of men would agree with me on this one)

This will get lost in the comments but here is my French girl dating story:
I had a French girlfriend when I was 19-20 years old and living in France. She wasn’t from Paris. French girls who aren’t from Paris are easy and fun to date. They’re direct, warm, they like to cook (and eat!), and they are generally just absolute sweethearts.
She was a kind and gentle person. She had such a soft heart. Thats what I loved about her. I called her my “princesse Savoyarde” (she was from Haute-Savoie lol)... she pretended to be annoyed but she loved it when I called her that
Sometimes, usually when I feel lonely or sad, I miss her a lot.
I am curious. how your relationship ended?

Was it accurate or is it the same with French man ?
Why do you think the French so unfaithful and promiscuous? There is a higher incidence of infidelity compared to other cultures.
To be honest, this does not sound like a pleasant experience....constantly having to tip toe around what you say even when giving compliments and her being intentionally cold and disinterested towards you at certain times does not sound like a healthy relationship.
I m french and I don't think we are trying to be cold, we are just very honest. Americans tends to exagerate their emotions.

I wish it was also a thing in the US and also the same about long distance relationships
@@theprousteffect9717and that is exactly why Americans have a terrible love life. Unless they do it thru their smaller cultures (church, family friends, etc) it usually doesn’t work out.
She forgived me regarding my hand 🖐 error and of course one could argue that she forgived me because she liked me, that maybe a girl that is not in to the guy would be more cold and non forgiving. And girls look at what I am about to say: it's so damm fu+*@#ing HOT 🔥 when a girl is cute understanding treats you nice witha set of details (touch you arm hands smiles "Says with a voice of caring: " I can get that for you cutie 🤗 😘")
But my point is that you girls should try to be more careful and forgiving because most guys are really TRYING they are nervous the heart ♥ is pumping not LITERS of blood in the body it's pumping ⛽ TONS of blood because the guy could be NERVOUS...😂
So all girls heads up here because if we are talking about "Dating across the borders" it's more hard to date, than when you are in your own country. My tips are:
Be extra:
careful
forgiving
mindful.
I am French from the northern in a country side this is just a huge cliche the Parisian women are not all the French women 😁 🙄😉as Paris is not the entire France so will be great if the foreigners go in an other places in our wonderful country where people live like real French with our traditional food natives languages and culture and not the cliches for tourist 😡

yeah that happen also in italy, if you ask a girl out you just say "do you wanna go for a beer or a drink" and it's understood that is date even if it's not said specifically
Seems in Poland it's the same. It would feel awful if you find out that person you are dating is into someone else.
I am from from America and always found this confusing. Sounds like I have something in common with Europe’s way of dating.
It's the same across Europe, not just France.
As a Male from the USA i can tell you this most of us are idiots.
This may be a bit generalistic...but I've heard that once you've made a friend with a French person...you've made a friend for life. Many tend to be very loyal friends. I've met one French person and he's super cool and definitely a friend for life.
C'est pas la femme française mais la parisienne. Et puis le cliché de la fumeuse... C'est dommage.

Based on this woman's facial expressions, she switches moods by the second!
Maybe it makes me old fashionned, but that's just how I feel !"
So in the end of this conversation, what do we have ? We have 2 human beings who just shared their opinion about dresses. The girlfriend now knows she might put on a dress to please her boyfriend. The boyfriend knows she is an independent woman who will not let any man tell her how to dress ... and he could also have a look at Simone de Beauvoir's writtings, even just to show how interested he is in her opinions. In a word, they get to know each other ! What's could be wrong about it ?
Exactly! There are a lot of people who don't actually have anything to say, or at the very least, don't want a woman who does.
Yawn, I'm dying of boredom

Classic Marina: funny, tongue-in-cheek, and not afraid to talk about anything. ;)
Well-made, as always, good acting, and I'm glad your new cameraman(woman?) is working out for you. Andrew's departure hasn't diminished the quality of your videos one iota. :D
Some suggestions for future content: if you do a video about Norwegian men, look up the youtube channel 'Pistolshrimps.' Those guys are hilarious, and maybe they'll do a parody on their channel. ;)
Another idea is 3 things men/women love about the opposite sex, and 3 things men/women love it when the opposite sex does them.

Ha ha ha ha, I would put up side down your text and then it would be right

Definitely, French women are a beautiful puzzle ☺️ admirable, smart, sweet and strong souls! A friend from Mexico says hello to all of you 🙃
Thank you ! With all the horrible comments I have read, I needed this ! =)
One of the first positive comments I ve seen that far!
Since the first time I watch Before the sunrise movie I've had this feeling I would love to date a french woman.
It really baffled me as well when I heard of the concept of "non-exclusive dating", it feels almost like cheating in a way when you're not used to it
Do you not want to date? You should get out there and meet people.

They are incredibly arrogant, they DON'T shower that much and are always making scenes!!!

@chillicheesefry good
Look outside of Paris and you'll meet many wonderful women that are far less snobby.
Still very opinionated, but I think it's charming :)

all your videos are 100% genius, but THIS one is beyond...beyond...just incredible!
I'd love to see one on Icelandic men! I have lived in Canada all my life (descended from Portuguese), I have never been to Iceland, never met an Icelander, so I can say without bias that I am absolutely fascinated by them and their country, and would love to see them covered in this series! :D
Plus, I've heard some talk that because Iceland is waterlocked, Icelanders don't have much variety and the gene pool is getting smaller and smaller with every generation (I think I heard it said that every Icelander is probably at least 8th cousins with everyone else in the country).
This video is different in the sense a French man is dating a French girl, although diff country😁
He says he comes from Montreal in this video, but he really has the French accent and not French Canadian.
Totally agree. And yes - I gotta admit, I cheated it with this one. I could not for the life of me find a non-French actor so we had to get a French one!
Nice vd. but that actor is a moron. Look what he is doing at the end of the vd. The actress is talented and gorgeous .
A lot of french people do not feel at home in Paris. Maybe if the Quebecois went to the working class areas of France they would feel more at home.

One thing about women in france is that as a man, if you critcise a woman, people will not like it, even if your girlfriend cheated on you. You're supposed to chill and not complain...
I live in France and this is very accurate haha. I didn't expect it to be that on point

Thank you for saying that!!! What a great thing to hear. Yeah - I have been going crazy over this one and couldn't find a French actress for a long time. I am happy I waited to film it in Paris. It's just a whole other experience.
And the actress is even one of the best you've gotten yet :)
LOOL
Thomas More well that's your opinion...

According to polls, France is the 5th most unfaithful country in the world. 4th place in Europe

Yeah so basically run away as fast as you can from them. Gotcha
This Quebecois guy is definitely French :) But otherwise excellent description of the French woman. 200% mind game.
Yes, he is. Can't even deny that!

"be prepared for the hot and cold responses"
Have had this with French, Danish, and Italian women.
In France if you don't know what you wanna do around 18 you are gonna feel very lost and there no such a thing as "I'll see how it goes"
Just an example if you are trying to get a job and that you took a gap year in your studies you are gonna have to justify yourself to the employeur.
C Slg STILL: Too complicated to have around. I like warm, honest, sweet, loyal, fun personalities. But everyone his own.
bossboy191919 Don't assume they are constantly complaining either. Plus there is complaining and complaining if you see what I mean. Even warm, honest, sweet, loyal, fun girls complain it feels good to every once in a while

I spent 4 days on an adventure with a French girl and I can say this is true! They have a lot of character and act rude sometimes lol
I think French women are gorgeous. French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Some good looking chicks.
French women are the worse! I'm European and it's well known here you do not want to marry one!
For those of you who are curious, the conversation at 1:15 went like this :
- Black haired girl : "They should have committed suicide elsewhere. I'm so tired of this!"
- Guy : "What about cycling, girls?"
- Black haired girl : "With hair like that?"
- Blond girl : "So what? There are suspicious packages, suicidal people... We can't do anything about it!"
I think they're talking about the Paris metro and its delays and cancellations caused by suspicious luggage and suicides.
So French people are definitely known to complain a lot and can be quite insensitive at times
More parisians (and people from all other big cities) than the rest of frenchies :D
Also i had those moments where i said smthing she liked and just started to laugh red like a tomato and saying also French words i didnt even understand. French girls are really complicated, but adorables hahaha
Yes, that's correct. You *did* date that girl from Bordeaux!
this is one of the most complicated episodes I've ever watched!!!
There are many different types of persons in each country. The same in France! That girl looks more like the "parisian girl" cliché (not a the type of person that I personally like) than the average french woman ^^
Maika Srd hello Agee with you
Second can we be friend I’m max
I'm a Vietnamese guy, and I dated an Algerian girl from Marseille...
and yeah, everybody says that it's basically "Parisians vs. everyone else" in every aspect of life in France.
It's true that many French folk like to give you a list of every little that's wrong if you ask them, which many Brits find out the hard way given that 'alright?' is a greeting to us and the only appropriate response to 'How are you?' is 'Fine, fine'.
saw most of the vids sounds like french girls are the most complicated
The French attitude to dating is as complex as the French existentialist philosophy! ;)
Love it! French women and French men are the best
The most pleasing in this video is "Swearing in french"
