Enkei' name comes from 遠州軽合金株式会社 Enshu Lightweight Alloy Co. Limited. Abbreviated from the main 2 characters of "Enshu (place name) and "Lightweight", you get "遠 軽", that is "En kei".
This is exactly right. A combination of Enshu and Keigoken (Spelling may not be exact). Proud employee of the Enkei America Columbus plant for the last 16 years.
Lmfao as an employee of Enkei in Walesborough / Columbus Indiana we all say it Enkeì with the I being the dominant sound at the end also a big yeeyee for Columbus 🎉🎉🎉
@@caliclassicstv2024 Man I’d like to see that! Congratulations, yes, I second that thought, it’s mind blowing learning how they pronounce that and all the groovy trends and local vocal talk is definitely a part of the car culture and history. I’m going to check out your Chanel and subscribe. If you can share your documentary when it’s done please, I’ll be waiting for it

I’m Originally from Norwalk and was happy to see your comment I thought I was trippin we all said ‘inky’
@@jamescorfield534 i laces and deep dish centerlines. I’ve never had any enkeis. But they were real popular
The rest of us say it like ‘Inky’ so weird to hear this guy say it ‘Ankay’ I swear every single person I know calls them ‘Inkies’ am I trippin?
The way we say it in the video “ehn-kei” is the technically correct pronunciation. “Inky” is a commonly accepted way to say it as well
@@ThreepieceUsI was wondering. As long as nobody hates on me for saying it this way I’m good. Thanks.

mostly all of honda/ acura stock wheels are enkei.. maybe that's why they are stolen so often..

I had enkei on my Subaru summer set. Two of them broke hitting minor pot holes, will never buy these trash wheels again
Which Enkei model did you have? Typically they're pretty strong for entry level wheels
