Yeah, the new frog is probably the hardest cas to do well in at top tier, the lack of thermals combined with the low speed really make this bird a relative sitting duck for modern sam's to spank. In EC it can theoretically perform really well but due to the small size of maps relative to the engagement range of aircraft at 11.3 the frog will 9/10 times get intercepted. It pretty much performs exactly the same as in real life - similar to the A10 and other slow speed, high dwell time dedicated cas aircraft; with proper allied support which deal with enemy air threats and scout ground threats, it can completely decimate the opposition, without this, itself is the one which is decimated - and we all know there is never any support from rando teammates in WT.
This plane should be in 10.3, not 11.3

This plane can be excellent if it’s used by a player that knows what they’re doing in ground rb. It’s br should be lowered in air rb though it is nearly useless at its current air rb br
Its because they really only have options for people to play air to air. This is a sead aircraft and excells in draining tickets if left alone. People also play it wrong and try to dogfight.

Alright, so i got it on sale, and i gotta say, if you bring the radar pod, with the vikhrs missiles, you technically get 16 radar missiles, 2 r-73 and 2 r-60s, which means you technicaly get a whole 20 air to air missiles, its not actually hard to get kills with the vikhrs either. If you can multitask and stay aware you can do pretty damn good. Guns in head ons are pretty damn good especially if you bring the two extra pods. I bring it strictly as a dogfighter and do alright.
That radar has a ground tracking mode too and syncs with the nose cam so you can lock something set it as your cam target then paint it with laser and use that instead if you wanna more teliable kills with the vikhrs

I looked at this for possible ground rb as I am about to finish researching my soviet top tier ground vehicles, but my highest br aircraft is 4.7 in soviets.
But I decided against it as it just wasn’t worth it. I went with the mig 23 instead and am now grinding with it. Or will be in a few weeks once I have my german mig 29.
And yes, I know my grinding of aviation in germany and ground in soviets is weird and not very clever. Which pretty much describes me so all good 😜

The TRAM (US premium @ 10.0) is at least as good as the su-39, perhaps even better. Great thermals, 4x of the best IR missiles in the game, excellent laser guided bombs and nearly the same speed and flight performance. Very sad that the su-39 is a FULL step up comparatively.
@@mavor101 the reason why Su-39 is 11.3 is because it has TV A2G missiles with 23km range. same reason why Mig-27s are 11.0-11.3. no plane in soviet tree that has TV guided anything is below 11.0 for some reason.
Never use it in air rb but my days is it an absolute monster in ground rb, i have 3 times more kills than deaths in it in ground rb in allot of games now

its plane goes crazy i drop 5-7 kills per game its 40g missile are really good and its guns get you at least 3-2 kills

It's actually S-13 OF, not S-130 F. The number indicates size, and the S-13s are obviously smaller than the S-25s
If you decide to play the Su-25T and Su-39 in air realistic battles instead of the intended ground realistic and ground simulator battles then you will suffer. It can still do funny things and get kills but it will always be in the center of the map last so is thus regarded as a support aircraft and if the friendly team can manage to stay alive and deal with the majority of the enemies, a single Su-25T and Su-39 can end the match.
How do you grind the mods for the 25T?
@@eaststarling7805 I played it in ground RB. Just spawn it, shoot some helis down, maybe strafe a tank or two with the 30mm, and possibly get a rocket kill or abuse stock R-60M against an unsuspecting fighter. Always fly treetop level.
Would much rather buy the Mig 21S. Has like 1100% SL multiplier and once you learn how to play it, it can be really deadly and get you loads of SL

So basiclly it's only good for ground RB because its BR is way to high to compete with anything, SU-25K is probaly much better and can hold it's own at it's current BR in Air RB and ESPECIALLY ground RB. (SU-39 skin looks very slick though) Also why would you use a CAS aircraft in AIR RB?? use MIG-23ML instead 🤷♂

Warthunder is great game, it’s player base that sucks. The game is filled with trolls, and the idea of team play is nonexistent. Additionally having highly sophisticated aircraft battling tanks is bad idea…should go without saying! I haven’t been playing as long you Jack, but I understand your frustration.

Its not good even for that. There is several similar planes, which is sit on a whole 1 br lower and all they lacking is zoom in bomb sight. Su39 fights against top jets and top aa. Its not even funny.

@@jpc6485 as a player? Ground br ofc. Or u mean what developer should do? Idk. Lower br at least. Its a premium with price tag of a good AAA-game. It MUST be good. Now its good only in one way: its beautiful. Rly like the way it looks. Also there is one more problem with it being the top br - there is nothing for it to destroy most of the time. Top tier battles ends in minutes and its costs about 900 points to use. While u getting it, most of the players already in another match lol.
@@jpc6485 it could receive the r73 to help out in air battles, and for ground all it simply needs is thermals with some more tv guided weaponry. One of the biggest problems in ground for it is its flight performance. Trying to guide laser munitions to the target leaves you a sitting duck for anything to club you right out of the sky.

It’s not bad for sim battles. Been grinding out russias air tech tree with it. I was able to get 60 ground kills in one match in 10.0-11.3. But this week sim battles have all been 11.0-12.3 and I’ve been getting slapped by F-16s. Still get decent rp from ground kills… just a lot of deaths 🫠

"Probably The Worst Rank 7 Premium", Actually yes... in Air RB, but not in Ground RB. This plane become cancer with Kancer series and Mig27 series. Even top tier SPAA cant handle this plane since this plane always flying low beyond radar detection.
Yeah the frog is extremely swingy, if your by yourself without support dealing with enemy air and focusing or at least spotting SPAA your very likely to go straight back to the hanger without killing anything curtesy of any optical sam's - low altidude or not the frogs are sitting ducks to enemy missiles cause they are simply too slow to evade or run. But if you do have a friendly aircraft to do that you can absolutely clap the enemy team single handedly. Mig27's and frogs make a pretty decent pair, with the mig27k focusing enemy SPAA and frog coming to clean out any and all enemy tanks when it is safe. Though naturally that isnt going to be happening very often outside of squad mates and as such most su39/25T just feed.

@@dzban02 not in GRB, in GRB this plane can kill 3-5 tank or even kill heli easily. Execept if you a noob who didnt know how to use this frogfoot. I already test this plane and very easy to use in GRB and ez kill.
