- Extended version: Van life camping in winter in snow storm in my van/Rv. I rode out a snow storm on top of one of the highest mountain plateaus on the continent. A cozy 24 hours enjoying the storm from inside my van cooking cheese pizza and watching Snowfall on HBO.
This extended version also includes the incredible snow storm caravan drive up the mountain. 10 cars guided by two snow plows on an exciting and dramatic mountain road.
Enjoy camping and vanlife friends from around the world!

This video reminds me of how despite our best efforts and advancements as humans, we are always truly at the mercy of Mother Nature.
You mean, the weather. Yes. It seems as such.
@@lucyterrier7905 does Mother nature not control the weather?

I don’t know why but there is just something so peaceful and comforting about being in a snow storm and in a cozy “home” like this..❤
It is indeed!
It's nice until you need to walk in it and drive in it.
this is actually one of the joys that all of us here in northern parts of the hemisphere feel and understand.
End, it doesn’t really matter if you live in a van, a truck or a tiny house, or a mansion, being inside toasty warm, and watching a blizzard is the most peaceful experience in the world.
💯 i want to experience this 💯
@@kathleensauerbrei5199 Especially with a hot chick. lol
Tell me there is no GOD, THAT WAS ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING
Thank you!
Yeah, I would have turned around. You have more guts than you know! Excellent video today. Thanks for not dying in a car accident!
Thank you Matt!
This is quite normal stuff in Norway, nothing dangerous about driving in a convoy and camping in the mountains, you dont turn around in Norway just because there is a blizzard if the road is open and you have good tyres. You try your best to be able to get a place in the convoy. I dont expect anyone who dont live in a winter country to understand how it works, but I actually had to delete a few comments here because they where mean and hateful, but that happens so the people with the mean comments gets hidden and blocked without them knowing about it😂
Watching snowfall
It's nice you can camp on the side of a highway there here in canada in most winters the snow plows would plow snow and you wouldn't be able to get out.
Yeah they keep these spots open for recreation over this plateou
That time-lapse at night made the landscape look like another planet! Pretty awesome video!
Thank you🙏
what a glorious adventure….. I am Swiss, living in South Carolina USA. Grew up in the Swiss Bernese Alps with long winters, lots of snow, lots of mountain skiing. I miss it here. Your video made me homesick and at the same time, I felt good, sitting in my Living room and enjoying your adventure. The storm reminded me of being in a Alphut, waiting out a storm, hoping to go back on my skis in the morning….
Thanks Trudi!
Nordic spirit ❤
Im so happy found your channel sir. Finally a channel with subtitle english so I can learning and also enjoy the video ❤
Happy to hear that!

Genial 👍😃 hermoso
Thank you!
very nice driving life in snow storm
Yes, thanks
I would never consider doing what you do, unless I had my dog with me. Something nice to cuddle up with at night or when things get scary.❤
Bring your dog!
Husband better :-)
WOW it's the middle of summer here and hot so the snow kinda cools ya off thinking about snow. Thanks for sharing. Love from Kansas 💜💙❤️💜
Thank you too
Wow what simply beautiful and amazing footage, and seeing the Northern Lights and all those satellites passing you by was amazing too.
Thank you Rick🙏
I never thought of cooking pizza in a frying pan. Excellent!
Hope you enjoy
As a person living in tropicsl climate, watching you driving through the snow and blue sky looks so surreal
I can understand that, hope you enjoyed it!
I ❤ the intro. And I was little bit interested by the Škoda before you I have Volvo BTW 😅Keep the right way and stay safe
Lol, looked like a rental, but it was driving way too close to the car in front
Great, I like those movies where the wind blows and the snow is falling. Greetings from Poland. We have such weather conditions very, very rarely
Thank you!
Such a beautiful country. It looked like you were driving to the clouds. ❤
It did yes, thanks for watching!
brrrr that looked freezing and stormy outside while cozyness inside.
Yep, thanks for watching!
I would have loved this. Probably better with a nice, warm man to be by my side and make me feel a little safer but I still would have done it even solo.
It was a great experience:-)
O btw I just found ur channel and subscribed. Thanks again. Gotta get caught up on all ur videos. 💕 💕
Awesome! Thank you!
❤ wish I was there. Thanks again for sharing this video with us 🇺🇸
Thanks for watching David!
That was a great storm. Really enjoyed that. One of my favorite things to do is drive up to Moose Island, Eastport, Maine, and rent a cottage right on the Atlantic Ocean when there is going to be an epic storm. I take some good food and some comfy clothes and a good book with me and just enjoy the storm on the enclosed, heated glassed-in porch. Love winter.
Awesome, me too!
Watching Snowfall during a snowstorm. That’s so cool 😎
Lol! I thought so too!
Amazing did you hear that incredible crunch on his pizza with every inviting bite. Yummy❤
Thank you 😋
👋Hi there Norwegian Xplorer!
A wonderful video to share, as always.
I love the snow, I love to rug up, I love a tasty, golden cheese pizza & I love being inside a warm environment, whilst the fireplace emits a gentle flame, all nice & cozy abound. And outside, the wind is howling & the snowstorm is raging. That's pretty awesome to me!
Tusen takk & Cheers.
To mee too!
What an epic video you sir give the best videos ever🙌🏼👌🏼
Thank you Temer!
I did simular in New Orleans I was in my can during huricane category 3 and it was super cool experience. Great video btw.
Thank you!
That was a lot of fun. Experience that i would have never imagined with you sharing. Thats why we love ya Jarl! Keep it safe. Take care!
Thank you Butch, glad you enjoyed it!
A van, cheese pizza's and a snow storm... livin' the dream...
That plough passing in the night looks almost satanic lol !
Love the night sky shots at the end... :)
P.S- a small tip if I may... Park the front of your van out of the wind- that's a hell of a wind chill for delicate components
in the engine bay !
The van is actually designed to have wind in the front, so I park into the wind
@@NorwegianXplorer Why would you want wind like that into the front of a stationary van ?
A van is designed to be driven into the wind, so that is the direction I want to be facing.
@@NorwegianXplorer Indeed they are- to cool down a hot engine whilst running/driving. Whilst parked overnight, sub zero and crazy windchill temps' are not optimal for an engine bay - a very harsh environment for all the delicate tech in there.
What a brilliant safety factor that allows a certain amount of vehicles to proceed and keeping each other in sight. You definitely need to be a very special breed of adventerous folks to do this. Literally out in open and cold areas which present so many concerns. I do think the van would provide the ultimate experience with comfort in mind. Safe travels and thank you for your spirit of adventure.
Well said! Thank you!
You are a MASTER with night shots, and effects, I am in Awe! Great job. Monterey, California resident here just dreaming of your part of the world.
Wow, thank you! Monterey is beautiful though
Thanks for braving the blizzard to get the outdoor shots! Especially the beautiful Aurora
My pleasure
Hell yeah. Snowfall is great
Thanks!
This was AWESOME. But of course it is. It’s U ! Bless u for going out n that vicious cold to film for us not to mention that hike to film from a distance.
I hope ur really safe so close to the roads. Some ppl drive very fast n such conditions. I pray so.
Ur van is an oasis of cozy. Love it.
Bless those who r on those roads day n nite to keep them passable.
The nite sky 🌌 is breathtaking. N seeing my sons smile brighten up the land is so beautiful n meaningful for me.
On a shallow note I love that sweater on u. Thank u for taking us with u !!!

Haha, thank you so much TJ🙏
Wonderous twinge of the Aurora, seems like it would ease the eyes with all that white! Cozy ☕
Thanks!
No need for electricity, just a Mr. Buddy heater. I put the propane tank in the bathtub, the hose leading under the door to my living space, then to my Mr. Buddy heater. and during a snowstorm my RV was cozy. It was only 18' and it heated up quickly. I had no choice. I was living in it during a Michigan winter.
I don’t advise a Mr. Buddy Heaters
Cheese pizza make just about any situation tolerable ! Hello from Chicago
Hey Rich!
That was an awesome video. The Northern Lights was my favorite scene. That sky you photoraphed was incredible. Thank you for sharing your adventure, stay safe.
Awesome! Thank you!
The clouds on the horizon are amazing. Nice.
Thanks!
You need reflective tape on rear of van like semi's and farmers use on their equipment. You hard to see parked on the side of road. Great video
Thank you Shirley!
This is just amazing to watch. Thank you for showing someone from the South Pacific your beautiful home which is a world away from mine.
Thank you very much! So cool that you found my videos from the complete opposite side of the world
Hats off to you,I would have turned around, but you made it beautiful scenery thanks for sharing stay safe

Excellent Video !! Snow Looks So Beautiful . The Northern Lights Has It’s Own Charm ( Magic). The Night Sky Looked Amazing.
Thank you:-)
I am of Finnish and Swedish descent, so this was very interesting for me. Thank you so much!
Thanks Robin!
The night sky really looked beautiful.
Yes, it was, a bit if Northern lights in there
I would camp in the storm with a dog 🐕 or a partner only. You are brave enough to do it solo.
Lol, thanks!
Hello from Peter in Sweden, whit Norwegian wife! I see the sign that you are around Geilo, so around 150 still, left, an even moore of Norway! We highly recommend to spend 3 to 6 weeks at Lofoten Islands. Outside Bodö to Narvik (ofoten)! Thats a Journey like nothing else! We spend 2 straight winthers thete, the first in a Kabe van, the second 4 moth Cabin rental, cheap No but if you can afford it, do it! From Peter & Sonja Eriksson and Mizzy the dog on Gimsöya winther nr 2. Total around 6 month! Doing it again, yes hell, if we can afford it!😊😊😊
Hey Peter, I might go to Lofoten again this winter. I havent decided on how far north I want to go yet. Winters are fantastic in the mountains of Southern Norway.
Buén video,y linda aventura.Agradecido por los subtítulos en español.Saludos desde Chile.
Thnaks for watching Jose!
Gracias a ti,y qué siga la aventura.👍👍👍👏👏👏.Saludos.
Wow, what an incredible adventure! Camping in a snowstorm takes true grit and a passion for exploration. Your video had me on the edge of my seat, experiencing the thrill and beauty of nature's power. Stay safe out there and keep sharing these epic journeys with us. Can't wait to see where your next expedition takes you!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Great adventure, thank you for sharing it. I wonder what the inhabitants of those remote dwellings do for a living in such a desolate environment? I am impressed in the road clearing operation, in weather like that the entire UK simply closes - we can’t keep the roads viable. Amazing Nordic spirit.
Hey Neil, those might be various types of cabins, some are private vacation homes I believe. Hardangervidda can be brutal but it is a major thorofare between Oslo and Bergen, so they try to keep it open
The headlights from the other vehicles look like Aurora Borealis.
Some of it is actually Aurora
Living in Australia I have never seen snow it looks beautiful.
Thank you!
Excellent edit and great video! I really enjoyed it 👌😎
Thank you!
Thank you Jarl for sharing your epic snowstorm van video. As always i look forward to them along with the tent ones.
Watching from South Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧
Regards
Matthew👍
Thanks Matt, I am glad you enjoy both angles!
Great video. The northern light were so beautiful.
Thank you Alice!
Помню когда жил в Мурманске и у меня были рейсы в Никель, и вот там много такого увидел
Cool!
WATCHING FROM THE COUNTRY OF THE PHILIPPINES
Thank you! Greetings!
That cheese pizza looked amazing! Loved this video.
Thanks Kenny!
😊this is an exciting video! Im always amazed when i see homes and that people live on those over passes and in the mountains with such extreme weather! How do they come and go?
Glad you enjoyed it!
beautifully filmed.
Thanks🙏
Would really like to hear about your van looks very liveable and tourable
Thank you, yes it is, more van videos soon I hope, also check out my vanlife channel @norwegianxplorervanlife
Did I mention I have a separate van life channel? Van Life with Norwegian Xplorer
Me in Virginia usa where if we get even a flurry i get anxiety about driving. Was seriously making me nervous watching just how fast you guys were driving in snow.
Some of the shots are sped up 2x, so it looks faster:-)
Reminds me of Northern Canada where I was this past winter and am still.
I bet it is similar yes!
Yeah the weather in those parts can even shut down the trains too.
Admiro sua coragem👏👏👏obrigada por mais este vídeo🙏🙏
Thank you Simone!
cool ! I love the snow!😁😁😁
Thank you!
Relax and enjoying 😉 the life good 👍 luck
Thanks!
Like that white sweater/ coat / jacket. What ever it is .
Thanks, it is a Canadian brand I believe
Great video, wonderful editing. I sense this one will go viral. 😅
Thank you Enrico!
Great video. Your camera set up in the front is really cool.
Mad weather!
Thanks Neil, it was a cool experience!
Greetings from Singapore. It's really very beautiful scenery u have there. I'm surprised so little snow has settled on your van, considering that it snowed throughout the night. U need a dog or a cat to complete the picture 😅😅
The wind just blows the snow off the van:-)
My wife thinks I’m crazy for craving snowy cold weather like that. But I do.
Lol, me too!
Great video! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
❤
🫶
gob-smacked!
Thank you!
Great video!
Thank you Rob!
Cover the pizza with a lid and the cheese will melt really well over the pizza, toast, lid helps keep the heat closer to the item cooking .
What we use when camping out 😊
I think I did that, not sure it showed in the video
I don’t know what’s more terrifying, the speed at which they drive with little to no visibility OR the fact that while he’s driving he’s taking his eyes off the road to look at the camera in the passenger seat! Yikes😅
Some of the driving is sped up 2 times, the camera is mostly mounted to the dash and activated by voice command, please dont yikes me when you dont know the whole story
I would be afraid to park that close to a highway. I get that this is where the plows would be, but I would be very afraid of someone sliding and crashing into me.
Ok
your videos a powerful love your channel
Thank you so much!
I have never seen an eau-de-nil sky before
Northern lights, aurora borealis
Watching snow fall in a snowstorm
Did you have to get permission to stay overnight there? When you were talking about the rules of the caravan, one was not to lose sight of the car in front of you so that's why I was wondering about stopping overnight. I have another question if that's ok? How fast were those cars and trucks traveling on those icy roads?! I'm a new subscriber to your channel 🙂
Thanks, no you dont need permission, as you can see there are plenty of cars already up there and the road is only closed for a few hours or a day until the wind dies down, a few of the scenes where it is really fast is sped up 2x, I should have added a note about that so not to confuse the viewers
I have a camper in Australia but not much snow 🍻. Looks fantastic there
Snow is cool and beautiful, bet it is pretty nice in Australia too, thanks for watching!
Καλησπέρα από Ελλάδα!!!!!
Good evening!
It’s beautiful, but I’d be terrified on the side of the road like that. I’m surprised nobody stopped to see if anyone was inside. That morning scape was worth it.
Nobody stops to see if there are anyone inside a van:-) thank you🙏
I've thought that myself, especially in weather like that ,I'd be checking they are ok😍
