Sevenoaks OO - January 2024 running session and scenery update

- Happy New Year and hope everyone had a good Christmas.
Since the last update in October I've made steady progress with the station buildings, in particular the footbridge, so I thought I'd do another running session to see in 2024, and show how things are progressing. Sevenoaks station has quite a distinctive footbridge, with two large piers connected by large sections of angled glazing. This gives a really nice light and airy feel to the footbridge for passengers, and also some pretty good views of the trains below.
When the modern station was first constructed in the late 1970s, corrugated metal cladding was used, which remained until the mid 2010s when the footbridge was refurbished and new cladding panels installed. My layout reflects the station as it appeared between 2007 and 2015, but obviously a lot of the stock is from outside that period! In this video we see the new Bachmann refurbished 4-CEP make its debut on the layout, alongside some more regular visitors.

Oh wow. You’ve made me homesick having spent over half my railway career working on that station. Love the views inside the overbridge, it looked like the real thing especially the tiles on the lift shafts

I used to use Sevenoaks to see my mum in a carehome nearby. This has captured the essence of the station.
One thing irks me about the real station is the sign outside is not capitalised - sevenoaks
Yes that's a modern stylisation you see a lot these days. I think the idea is it looks a bit less formal and more inviting! Does tend to to irk people though 😂 Thanks for the kind comments and glad you feel I've managed to capture the essence of the place :)

Many thanks! Yes another 375 is planned, I have bought some of the parts, so I expect it will appear on the layout some time during the summer :)
