Natasja is literally the rap queen of Denmark, she is an icon!
RIP gone too soon🕊️🪦
RIP
Hørt!
RIP
Rip
Natasja won in 2006 in Jamaica, Irie FM Big Break reggae talent competition, as the first non-Jamaican to ever win it. Respect! RIP ❤
You should definitely listen to either Do you, come alive or BO with the danish artist Noah Carter and BO has a video to it
Natasja has made some of the best music ever in my opinion she is amazing and I have listened to her music since I was 8
RIP 😔
I love Natasja for life dude
My mom and dad knew Natasja
Fun fact, Lukas Graham was a Child actor in Denmark, he actually grew up in Free town Christiania back when it was free..😢
I know you visited the place when you were here..
Natasja's song is not about "The Good Old Days". It's a very political song, and was a reaction to Denmark turning more right winged and anti immigration.
Her comandment of the Danish language is exceptional, and the text is loaded with cultural references. It's might be translateable, but only understandable with some very, very long foodnotes
Like, the one about strangling the child, sounds weird to you, but it comes to a X-mas song from 1847, where a girl is gifted a doll, and is warned not to pull too hard in the string, holding the wrapping in place.
Der var intet racistisk i den sang. Tværtimod.
@@PSimonsen Kør lige beskeden gennem en oversætter. Så tror jeg du bedre forstår hvad personen prøver at sige :D
@@PSimonsen Hvem har da sagt det??
It's okay NOT to understand English, no need to advertize it.
@@atlasdev "was a reaction to Denmark turning more right winged and anti immigration."
@@Mad01522 Præcis.
Songs to listen to if you havent already:
-Sort sol - let the fingers do the walking
- D.A.D. - Laugh 'n' a 1/2
- Nelson can - Break down you walls
Adding more:
Savage Rose - What do you do now
Bro Thinking the first song is between highschool and College, when it is between middle School and highschool…
he said its giving college vibes not that it actually is college. In America most kids are not drinking publicly in middle school or high school...
The house is on fire is actually about one of the brothers wife who went through a depression and he felt like he could never really get through to her during that period, so they made this song about how it feels to be in a relation to someone going through a depression.
Also you should try listening to Alphabeat - Fascination :D
You need to do "Gulddreng" his a danish "troll" they wanted to find out if it was easy to be "noticed" in Denmark
He ended up with a ton of "troll" music and its so fun lol
Gulddreng / Model (from 2016)
U could also do good "old" songs people still know
Boing / Nik & Jay (2006)
Fugle / Djämes Braun (2015)
Topgunn / Kongens have (2015) - OR - 6 Liter (2015)
Else a favorit of mine right now is
D1ma / I know (2023)
And a MUST is Christopher.. its a shame you havent done him yet.. hes was/is the danish "Harry Styles"
Christopher - First like (2014) - OR - Twirk it like Miley (2016)
more specifically she passed away in a taxi accident, i dont remember the full story as i wasent that old at the time, but i remember it being a big deal, cause she was quite a big name in denmark at the time, and her songs are great
Hey! You should put Alphabeat saybia medina and carpark north for part 6! And also jonah blacksmith gives me a lot of coldplay/snow patrol vibes. I’m from Denmark. 😘
26:40 Staden (Fristaden Christiania) was a military area not really used, that got occupied in 1971.
It was full of colorful people, that didn’t wanna be part of the normal society.
Lucas from Lucas Graham is from there BTW.
There are sale of hash/marijuana relatively openly.
It’s safe enough to visit, but I would not recommend filming in some areas as they don’t wanna have their illegal activities documented.
There's barely any illegal activities going on there anymore. Pusher Street has been demolished more or less.
26:50 ungdomshuset (the youth house) was a occupied building that were having a lot of parties and concerts. There was a lot of fighting when the police tried to kick them out.
As no one wanted to buy it it stayed as it was for decades.
But then a Christian movement, Faderhuset, bought it cheaply and wanted to turn it in to a church.
It was most likely more about ending the unchristian activities there than anything else.
She calls them a fanatical sect as they are relatively extreme, with a cross in their arses as they are Christian.
"Relatively" they comittede childabuse...
They fleed denmark because of the police
Lucas Graham grew up in the "free" town Christiania in the Copenhagen area
I don’t think you've looked at danish Simon Kvamm yet - He is a danish singer/songwriter/comedian/actor, and made some of the most influncial danish music 10-20 years ago, but stills produces wellknown danish music in his band HUGORM.
But i would recommend you to react to his former band, Nephew, and maybe their song Igen Og Igen or Hjertestarter (a song dedicated to the danish westcoast)
I suggest checking out ‘Rocazino - All my Love’ and ‘Scarlet Pleasure - What a life’! Thank you for some great videos! :)
The Line with choking the child is from an old Christmas song you sing around the tree
Hi there. Here are some fun ones. The savage rose - Wild child, Bikstok Røgsystem - Cigar, Nekromantix - "Gargoyles Over Copenhagen" PowerSolo - Baby, You Ain't Looking Right,
Cigar also features a Danish artist you have reviewed before :)
Natasja really has a sad story. She had an accident while horse riding, and the horse landed on top of her breaking almost all bones in her body. Was hospitalized for months. I think she was getting a break through in the dance hall scene in Jamaica, but then she died in the car crash. The driver was drunk or smoking weed. Jamaica is Jamaica you know....
29:28 understand that Denmark is doing fine and the US cannot replace it.
It seems Lukas Graham just had that one massive hit.
But they have some highly underrated stuff.
Some of my favorites are "Not a Damn Thing Changed" and "Happy For You" feat. VU.
There's also a documentary that follows them trying to make it in the US, which also deserves a lot more views.
It can be found on the channel Dali A/S.
And Natasja was also a Christiania girl, she unfortunately died in a carcrash due to to a drunk chauffeur..😢
She's got alot of great songs though...❤
Legendary songs/artist. What a vid man!! KEEP IT UP
The song 15 år, is not about college age kids, its about 15 year olds not even in high school yet. The drinking culture in Denmark is pretty wild.
I love these with denmark, please dont stop
Giv mig Denmark tilbage. To really understand the depth in the lyrics, you have to understand danish culture, history, politics, slang etc. She uses many double references, quotes from old movies and a christmas song. References to incidence that have happens. That is what makes this song so strong. It's very political and at the same time gives the danes " a slap on the wrist" for forgetting our values.
It's extremely powerful and relevant still today, probably always will be.
You can't explain the lyrics in writing, has to be verbal. There would be way to many footnotes trying to explain😅
Lukas Grahams song is emotional and that is why this song is so good
I'm begging you to listen to "For Evigt" a classic Danish song made by "Volbeat"
He already them in another video.
Lucas Grahams New one is called cheat code. It is good.
Im danish and i know almost all these songs
The first song, he says he’s home drunk lol, it normal for us to drink at 14 lol. I Think its so funny u have to be 21 in USA
Definitely react to scarlet pleasure what a life and some more lukas graham
if you wondered why you recognised her voice look up calabria 2007 she was the singer sadly passed away in the 2000's in a car accident in jamaica
its about being 15 years old and drinking to mutch becauce in denmark we are allowed to buy alcohol at 16 years old but there are no legal age that says how old you need to be to consume alcohol
Do some ice kiid i personally like
Errudumellerhvad or je ka jo
Or some collabs like 555 or Ibiza
need to listen to:
1. ude af kontrol: sne hvide og de 7 små poser
2. volbeat: for evigt
3. suspekt: gonzo
4. d1ma: DRØM MIG VÆK
love you videos where you listen to danish music its fun for a danish person to see what other thinks about our music
thank man , you doing goooood
U should listen to malte ebert super ligeglad. Its such a cool live performance!
Hi Dar. I love the series and you should try to listen to "Til Banken" by Karen Mukupa, Natasja Saad, og Tessa which was a song made some old recordings of Natasja after she died
26:50 she probably sounds just like... Natasja 😂 She had a big international hit called "Calabria" with Enur.
TJ mani - Shutdown
KESI - Blå Himmel
RH - Klovne
Jimilian - Efter Mig
Artigeardit - Er Her
Just a few, some ive seen live, and some ive enjoyed listening to. I know them all by heart lol
Soon you will be 55 .... 😏 Its like time goes faster the older you get ... 🤔🙄🤪
The song is about when his wife had a depression so It's hard song ❤
All my love - Rocazino
Some hidden gems
Kellermensch 'Lost at Sea', my current favorite, but they have so many good songs, melancholic rock, with a twist
Blaue Blue 'Sky', Pop Rock
First Hate 'Girls in the Club' Techno Pop
Bersærk 'Balders Bål' Note Danish letters, so might be hard to find. Harder Rock
Regards
P.N
You should listen to Outlandish - Aicha
Look into my eyes - Outlandish
5:20 they sing about being high on weed.😅
I dont know if you have reacted to them yet, this was the first one i was recomended. But if you havent hear Shu-bi-dua, you should do like an entire video on just their top songs. They completely incapsulate the danish feeling in my opinion.
fun fact about natasja, her familiy was friends with osama bin laden and she rode on his horses, this was before he went psycho.
great singers on this one. Jonas great...lucas graham great...Natasja great...The song is about getting the old good days of denmark back and all she miss about the old days..Natasja great rap...Died in car addicent in Jamica..
We don't have college in Denmark but we are the only country in the world that has something that is called gymnasium that is probably a gymnasium party.
u should listen to not a damn thing changed by lucas graham
Caroline Henderson: Made in Europe ☯️🙏 big hit in the 90's 😊
My dad's dad was best freind's with lukas graham's dad, so my dad an Lukas graham often played together.
If you wanna be in danish music you Can tru hear baloosh - psykosebarn or hadi - 4x4 or branco - push start
Sad to say, Natasha is actually dead many years ago. you really found something old there. You heard her before because she is the voice of Natasha - Calabria which I heard several times in radio while cruising florida. oh year and just been at Lukas Graham concert 2 days ago. really awesome. My favoured song is "drunk in the morning"
need part 6 my g.
You def need to react to gilli, benny jamz - lifestyle
We need some Lukas Graham reaktions like now❤
Kim Larsen - This is my life.
Enur ft natasja !! Calabria album is english also from 2007
I will be here for more Lukas Graham
RIP Natasja
15 år /15 years is way before college days actually. Most are not even in high school by that age in Denmark😅
Try some of these songs, they are all with English lyrics: (Scarlet Pleasure, what a life) (D-A-D, Sleeping my day away)
(Christopher, Beautiful Life)
Think he did DAD sleeping my day away in one of the the previous videos.
19:48 Denmarks Happiest Hippi, Stig Møller, still going strong 🥰🥰
I kind of know him, and my father got a guitar he had painted.
Though his brother stole it and probably sold it.
@@mwtrolle Shame 😟
Thank you for listening to Lukas Graham🙏
Nice whit a pt 5.
lukas graham is a danish actor who was mixed in the first 3 crumbs
He's a better chef than he ever was as an actor.
29:44 get control over Istedgade, a street that used to be like a red light district, but now it’s more about selling hard drugs. Control it but let Christiania be as it is.
You gotta listen to "Nik og Jay" Its a most!!!
29:13 the language we speak is money, and and a greedy man have never been hard to seduce, and wealth and power goes hand in hand.
Fits well on the situation in the US, especially now with Trump and Elon.
I would love to see you react too Noah carter - do you
He was born in america bjt moved to denmark when he was young he has made some new bangers but nothing better then this one imo❤
Anyways you should listen to “Hva status” “money mitch” “skarpt lys”
You probably need someone to explain Natasjas lyrics. There's a lot of cultural references that doesn't translate well.
Did try to explain some of them, but the wordplays would make it to much.
“Når du strammer garnet”, “Rabalderstræde” for instance.
Natasja might Sound familar because she’s the Singer on Calabria 2007?
Lukas Graham is an amazing band, your journey with them has just begun 🙂
If you haven't, you should do Lukas graham: not a damn thing changed
alright fair enough
