I think the stereotype of the aggressive Jaeger is more of a Cold War thing, that's at least what I read in memoirs, and that it changed when they switched to a more counter-terror and special operations profile in the 1990s. The old Jaeger motto also used to be "Forrest mod fjenden" (In the front towards the enemy) from their times as skirmishers and shock troops, which they changed in the same period to the current "Plus Esse Quam Simultatur" (More to be than to seem). If anything the current stereotype leans more towards the Frogmen acting like toughguys during these selection documentaries, compared to more laid back Jaegers.

Long story, very short; Danish Frømandskorpset is the best that Denmark has. In Britain, they are SAS. In US, they are Navy Seals. And yes, Denmarks King Frederik André Henrik Christian is a trained "Frogman".

@renehansen1904 easily done, as the SAS does have a Water Troop in each of their 4 squadrons. The SAS and SBS do their selection together, then half way they go their separate ways, depending on the applicants choice of SAS or SBS when starting the selection.

@@HR2635 Just stop. It is well known within the corps. Here's the thing you need to understand. He was at the time, the future king. Every single time he had to do something, there was a risk assessment. What you do as a Frog goes way beyond this - even at a training level. Before he was sent to Kongsøre, both he, the staff up there, and and the government, had spent months preparing so that any and all changes that had to be made, was implemented in time. How do I know? My family was very close with the former hofmarschall, because my grandfather was a high ranking naval officer and personal friend of his. It was something that was talked a lot about back then internally. What they did with Pingo, and that goes for his ENTIRE military career, was to put him through several parts fo the armed forces. Naval, Airforce and Army. He went to all places. But you have to understand that he was not a career officer or career soldier in any of them. His job, and why it was done, was because at the time, not only was he generally interested in the Danish armed forces, but it was also deemed important to have a king which was in touch with how the armed forces worked. This was in part because his grandfather was quite famous for having a laid back and friendly relationship to most people who served that he came across - and this also meant that he was able to work with them and influence them if needed be. The former queen and Prince Henrik was the very opposite, and that did in fact cause some problems. Those issues was what the royal family, the government, and the armed forces were trying to solve, by making sure that the future king had some proper insight into the Danish military. Was he a good officer an soldier? He was fine, average but nothing special. My grandfather personally saw to some of his education in the navy, when he attended the Rader academy at Holmen. Let's just say that he was not first in his class, and that you sometimes get away with a bit more when you are the crown prince. Danes like the royal family a lot, we are very proud to have our monarchy and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But it sometimes means that some things and stories get a bit of added sugar on top. Remember how long it took before it came out, that he had actually not done the real Sirius Patrol? For years it was painted as if he did. Understand that Frederik did well and he did achieve a lot. But for the sake of those who served and do serve in both the Frogs and Sirius, just take it for what it is. We have a pretty cool king, I'm a big fan actually. But as someone with some close ties to the military myself, it does bother me when people, even our king, is credited with things they should not be credited with.

Though compared to what is going on in Ukraine, it was a police action. People did not like it when I called it that back then. Guerrilla screws your mind most, hot war screws your body most.
“Frøman” is a term that directly translates to frog man, but it means “hunter”
No the hunters or Jærgerer are a different SF unit in denmark
@@cOOwwEb Okay? Frog man is still a term used to refer to hunter, google it if you don’t believe me
2.43 once frog forever frog !!!! OUR KING IS A FROG!
Today it is around 350 people that have become Frogmen. Had the pleasure to work and talk with a frogman who was active doing the 70s and 80s, he had some stories, told us they got a new id and background doing that time, one of the things they did was training in responds too counter the special forces from Poland, who was dedicated for invading Denmark if the red flag was raised, stuff he wouldn't talk about, which makes you wonder, what did we do that doing that period.
Our King Frederik did this. He also made part of Sirius Patrol in Greenland. Although he might have experienced it: He never spoke about freezing intimate bodyparts :)
He is NOT a full Frog. I wish people would stop saying he is. He was there to learn what it was, and as part of a PR stunt. He did not complete to course, he was not even asked to to the full initial trial.
It was the same with Sirius. He was there to observe and learn, and he had bodyguards there, he had food flown up, and his family visited him.
@@AB-80Xwhere’s the proof of your statement? According to all known records he is a full frog and completed both the test and education under same conditions as anybody else. No one gains anything from a media stunt like that.
@@AB-80X BS he passed everything and all frogmen have verified multiple times that he got no special treatment.
@@regularSenseAppeal
Odd I know a few who was with him both with the Fros and later. Plenty of special treatment. Just give it a rest.
@@AB-80X Holy fuck, spreading misinformation online is so cool. Moron.
Have looked forward to see you react to this 😊😊
Thank you, been a great start to the series
I think the most similar unit to the Frogmen are probably Seal Team Six. I would say the Jægercorps is better in combat, but not in piracy
Its correct. We have about 1500 Jeagers/Frogmen combined. Before any force on the planet set boots on ground,Danish has been on recce
Are you saying that the danish do a recce for any military unit of the world before they enter the place?
I am still waiting for the "My War" documentary :D It's uploaded by Metziker.
Love from Denmark mate👍🔥🇩🇰
my father was in another special forces group called (in english) "Hunting corps" i think in danish its called "JægerKorpset"
good video and yes im from denmark :)
Long story, very short; Danish Frømandskorpset is the best that Denmark has.
In Britain, they are SAS.
In US, they are Navy Seals.
And yes, Denmarks King Frederik André Henrik Christian is a trained "Frogman".
THX, British Soldier
In the UK they train with the SBS primary, not the SAS. A work colleague son in law (CSgt) serves in the SBS, and earlier this year had a few Frømandskorpset at Poole for a short period, few weeks later him and few other SBS went to Kongsøre to train in their waters for just over a week.
@@Dazfos My bad.
@renehansen1904 easily done, as the SAS does have a Water Troop in each of their 4 squadrons. The SAS and SBS do their selection together, then half way they go their separate ways, depending on the applicants choice of SAS or SBS when starting the selection.
@@Dazfos I got rejected. So lack of knowledge..
A lot. Ill just shut the fuck up now :)
They are only one company of 150. And there are only trained 5-6 a year.
one of mine friends was a danish frogman and was in syria
It's and old documentary hence the equipment is not reflecting our equipment today.
some of the best in the world if not the best
The danish frogmen is more advanced when it comes to war at sea than the american seal team
The seals (BUDS)
Is more into jumping from the air than combat at sea..
But we will be a great alliance (seals & frogmen)
The Danish king has gone through that and Sirius paptrol
He is NOT a full Frog. I wish people would stop saying he is. He was there to learn what it was, and as part of a PR stunt. He did not complete to course, he was not even asked to to the full initial trial.

@@AB-80X which you can document how?.. he did a full training and exam. He is a "frømand". He trained for 9 months. He has the service no. 210.
In Sirius it was another thing. Yes, he was with a bodyguard. Off course!! Anything else would be stupid! He there joined a 4 month long Sirius Patrol trip. But did not serve as part of the patrol afterwards (normally Sirius is 9 months of training and 26 months of service).

Just stop.
We can be proud of our king🩷.A frogman education is not for the weak. I wonder how they would compeating with a seal.
React to the Indian Navy telefilm please
The video is in English, and goes into great details about the working and training of the navy. All of the footage is also original navy footage since the vid is official

Anders Lassen VC, MC, of the SAS
by Mike Langley.
I believe he was one of the first members of SBS, and one of the highest decorated, with 2 victorie cross.
This is the second time I’ve had to correct someone online about Lassen’s medals. I don’t know where my fellow Danes get the idea he got 2 (two!) Victoria Crosses. He won his VC at Lake Camacchio, Italy in 1945 and two or three Military Cross medals, can’t remember exact number.
But NOT two VCs… come on. There’s only like 3 guys who has ever won 2 VCs. Think a little before posting

No.. The hunter corps is considered more elite.. Compareable to Tier 1 units like delta force and sas.. Frogmen are comparable to navy seals which is tier 2 units. Not devgru!
Keep telling yourself that.
This is simply misinformation. Frogmen are absolutely and undoubtebly a tier 1 unit. You may feel strongly about this, but that changes nothing about reality
A frogman thought me to swim
most of special NATO special forces are equal . Danish special forces are no different from their NATO counterparts. Top of the top NATO SF is propably Delta Force ( the best equipment, training, combat experience ) . people have limits .
When the Terror Attack happened in Denmark in 2015, The Frogmen was deployed to assist the police.
Its also important to note the language the instructors are using. They talk very polite, and they adress the aspirants very formelly.
