No, it is not vegan. Vegan is when it's not from an animal. This came from an animal so it's not vegan. No steak is vegan. Wait until the lab grown meat becomes a thing.
the reason you wait before cutting into the steak is to let the juices redistribute back into the meat. If you don't wait and you cut into the meat right away the juices leak out and your left with a dry steak.
Kenneth Maese another part of it is (just like she said) carryover cooking. it allows for the meat to actually get to the proper temperature without the meat drying out in the oven.

Cooking outside over coals makes for great tasting steak. (If some of you don't think so, pour lighter fluid over coals and ignite with a match, then let them heat up for 10 minutes)
Tri tip is my go to. Grey Poupon rub, Pappy's blue label seasoning. Grill slowly for 90 minutes off direct heat and pull at 130*, rest 10-15 minutes. Tender and perfect to eat sliced or as a sandwich.
Life is like a steak. We want rare experiences and be rewarded for a job well done and get rich. But most end up getting burned in many ways. Stick with simple pleasures like watching videos and many other free activities. They are way cheaper and still interesting.
Mario F. Actually, unless you're cooking meat that's breaded or battered or if it's dusted with flour, it doesn't soak up the oil. The meat is releasing it's own fat and steam so the oil is being pushed away as it sizzles. It's just on the surface and if you dab it with a paper towel when it's finished, you'll be getting pretty much no added fat. A tablespoon or a quarter cup of fat or even if you deep fried it, it will add about the same amount of oil which is negligible.

Do you understand why she dried it though? Soy sauce burns incredibly quickly. You cook steak at the oils smoking point. Soy sauce would burn nearly instantly at that level of heat and ruin the steak entirely. She simply wanted the meat to take the flavor of the sauce. It makes since if you've ever cooked before, but you bums probably only eat mac and cheese and chicken nuggets.
Really all you need to cook a good steak is 1.a hot iron skillet 2. a lot of salt *spickles a good amount of salt* 3. A little bit of oil *Pours half a bottle* Tada
That's just salt beef. At minimum you need salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, some kind of citrus fruit (lemons or an orange work fine), and (optional) beer. First you rub the dry ingredients into the steak. The you squeeze the citrus fruit(s) and pour the (optional) beer for the mariande. Then mariande for a minimum of one hour in the fridge. Then cook to how you prefer your steak. If cooking in a cast iron skillet use butter or olive oil to prevent sticking. If on a tradtional grill the no non stick measure is needed.
@@Max_n_ruby The length of time required for mariande will very by cut. For flank steak, a hour is more than enough but for the good stuff like Tri tip, sirloin, and filet minion takes a longer time.
Dominic Klassen Probably because shes a vegan who didn't want this assignment but Buzzfeed made her do it. LOL She's also still pissed that Hillary lost. LOL

imperallady their "bake then sear" method isn't for making better steak, but its safer for beginners. You should sear first, so that the crisp outer steak seals in all the juicy goodness for the baking.
Her: "Flap meatttt, woo woo!" Also her: "Um thats not the sexiest name though" And also, anyone finds it so satisfying to see the textures of the meats?
Pepper after searing or you risk it burning which creates a bitter flavor. This mostly happens with finer ground pepper, not so much coarse ground pepper as with 'Steak Au Poivre'
Will Melbourne Never ever have i cooked or seen a steak cooked without it so yer......that is how it works. steak and beef for that matter go hand in hand. Stop trying to be a clever clogs

Hello. I just stumbled on this video, somehow. I have to say this is one of the best constructed cooking videos I have viewed. Speed, clarity, content delivery and quality video capture are exquisite. Also, I love your voice. I especially appreciate the fact that you don't pepper your meat before searing. We both know why.
he actually wouldn't. he respects other people in their retro professions. shes a butcher and was showing a demo. and this isn't a lot of oil. it's enough for a good sear. anything more and you literally have oil splashing all over cause of the heat alone
Another approach better than the one you suggested when refrigerating is not to salt and cover the meat with cling wrap! Dry the meat off with paper towels, then salt heavily on both side and put it on a wire rack where air can circulated around the meat over night! The salt will draw out the water through osmosis and the next day the steak will be dry on the outside, slightly darker , but guaranteed to get a much better crust with a more tender and flavourful steak! 🥩 👌
It's biological. The sight of meat has a calming effect on men especially (it means our duty as provider has been fulfilled - at least that's where the effect originates, so I've been told).

Really all you need to cook a good steak is
1.a hot iron skillet
2. a lot of salt *spickles a good amount of salt*
3. A little bit of oil *Pours half a bottle*
Tada
Salt and a meat hammer
Put pepper on it at least
That's just salt beef. At minimum you need salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, some kind of citrus fruit (lemons or an orange work fine), and (optional) beer. First you rub the dry ingredients into the steak. The you squeeze the citrus fruit(s) and pour the (optional) beer for the mariande. Then mariande for a minimum of one hour in the fridge. Then cook to how you prefer your steak. If cooking in a cast iron skillet use butter or olive oil to prevent sticking. If on a tradtional grill the no non stick measure is needed.
@@kingjonstarkgeryan8573 I usually do 24 hours so it can deeply penetrate the meat
@@Max_n_ruby The length of time required for mariande will very by cut. For flank steak, a hour is more than enough but for the good stuff like Tri tip, sirloin, and filet minion takes a longer time.
this is the best video to come out of the whole buzzfeed family of channels
flap meat is the sexiest meat name

@DIRTY TURBAN.raccoons or coyotes.
What about tube steak?
wanna lick my FLAP MEAT?
Anthony Vigil lmao no
Why does the narrator seem so done with life?
Edit: I wasn’t expecting 200 likes ^_^
It's the vocal fry that makes her look like she's dead in the inside. She's perfectly fine. Most Americans use it.
Probably has something to do with working at Buzzfeed
Dominic Klassen
This is buzzfeed all employees are done with life
Dominic Klassen Probably because shes a vegan who didn't want this assignment but Buzzfeed made her do it. LOL
She's also still pissed that Hillary lost. LOL
well im the 399th lmao
I never thought I was eating expensive steak all my life...
I feel so *FANCY*
lol
I feel so fancy eating the cheap steak bc it costs a fortune
@Ethan Supercars that is still expensive
*FANCY* woo-- woo--

Her voice is so relaxing. I will watch anything she voice overs.
Is it just me, or does the cheaper steak look tastier than the expensive one?
Your the only one...
Re_gaMer you’re*
Chaos248 yea just you
Nah, the expensive one looks so GOOD
I agree. I think it just looks like it was cooked better. mmmm
That doesn't simply just n blood, it's 99.99% the SOY SAUCE that you poured "a little bit" a while ago lol.
P/s: Some people don't seem to get a joke though.
Lol
That's so true lmao

thank you for this it was detailed and I didn't get lost or bored listening to it I'm trying to be a better cook this definitely helped
trust me, it didnt help you.
Simone Adami aw:(
imperallady their "bake then sear" method isn't for making better steak, but its safer for beginners. You should sear first, so that the crisp outer steak seals in all the juicy goodness for the baking.
Her: "Flap meatttt, woo woo!"
Also her: "Um thats not the sexiest name though"
And also, anyone finds it so satisfying to see the textures of the meats?
I do, I've watched this video like 20 times now lmao
She might be one of the lucky girls.
NO PEPPER?! THIS MADNESS!
Pepper after searing or you risk it burning which creates a bitter flavor. This mostly happens with finer ground pepper, not so much coarse ground pepper as with 'Steak Au Poivre'
A steak without freshly ground black pepper ISNT a steak.....Everybody should know this by now!
+rw19901 That's not how it works...
Will Melbourne Never ever have i cooked or seen a steak cooked without it so yer......that is how it works. steak and beef for that matter go hand in hand. Stop trying to be a clever clogs
I literally only liked this video because of her wonderful voice and scrolled to the comment section to see if anyone can ID it, but somehow you all hate it? I'm so confused lmao
I love her voice and the small rambling she does in between information
reminds me of Aubrey Plaza
She's Claire from tasty culinary and I love her voice, it's so soothing
kadrope, actually, most of those trolls are the ones who would have burned witches at the stake while secretly lusting after them.
"Just pour a little soy sauce"
*proceeds to dump half of the bottle*
she forgot to season the olive oil and soy sauce with salt and pepper
Bess this comment
What? Soy sauce has a lot of salt and she did put pepper
Right. Kathly
No he wouldn't have because she was marinating it.
Back for my yearly viewing of this video
When I see a steak I always think of Gordon Ramsay and I don't know why
he actually wouldn't. he respects other people in their retro professions. shes a butcher and was showing a demo. and this isn't a lot of oil. it's enough for a good sear. anything more and you literally have oil splashing all over cause of the heat alone
MaeMaeGanda loves TaeTae Oppa every food show will remind you of Gordon Ramsey

Three different steaks at three different price points...
sounds overly familiar, I hope that reference was worth the effort.
I learn so much.... probably will watch it again and again. 😌
Jesus christ... even ramsay doesnt use that much oil
Amateurs I'll tell you
Meliodas 819 Gordon Ramsay , Master of Olive Oil
Gordon uses stainless steel which is more forgiving with less oil. Cast iron eats up oil as it expands when heated up so the amount she uses is fine.
You're right, he uses butter.
he uses oil. also its fine to use that amount of oil with a really thick cut and sorta deep fry it.
I did the expensive steak and it was soooooo good i added some garlic and steak seasoning to the marinade along with the salt
Anybody else's favorite food?

Another approach better than the one you suggested when refrigerating is not to salt and cover the meat with cling wrap!
Dry the meat off with paper towels, then salt heavily on both side and put it on a wire rack where air can circulated around the meat over night!
The salt will draw out the water through osmosis and the next day the steak will be dry on the outside, slightly darker , but guaranteed to get a much better crust with a more tender and flavourful steak! 🥩 👌
If you leave steak @room temperate for over 2 hrs, bacteria can start to grow :/
Her voice is so relaxed that she is almost constantly in a vocal fry or even subharmonic

Cathal's Vlog's yes soooo much and I don't even like steak that much
It's biological. The sight of meat has a calming effect on men especially (it means our duty as provider has been fulfilled - at least that's where the effect originates, so I've been told).
