Not only that, but this is a Brazil team that is incredibly low in confidence at the moment. And we were playing in front of our home crowd, at Wembley, and we still couldn't beat them. And the sad part is that the scoreline is flattering to England - it should have been at least 0-3. To call this embarrassing is an understatement.
Brazil were not at full strength, and they had a lotta debutants.

He got them relegated they weren't mid results that were awful he was terrible .

He isn't good enough to manage Salford City let alone Man Utd. I think Southgate would do even worse in the lower leagues as he wouldn't have superstar players to bail him out and save him from his idiotic negative tactics.

Southgate is nowhere near United standard. International management is far lower level, it’s why Roberto Martinez can manage a top international side but has no business being near a big premier league club.
Martinez, along with Marc Wilmots to be fair., underperformed with 1 golden generation in Belgium and now he's doing it a 2nd time with Portugal!
That’s a bit harsh on martinez, martinez won a trophy (I know for a relegated team) and secured lots of top 7 finishes for Everton before it went downhill for him. Gareth’s managerial cv is absolutely destroying boro in his time there + wasting what will be England’s best crop of players for decades 😂
@@shaheenyboy Martinez's level is with the likes of the teams where he found success, Wigan and Everton , and that is no shame. His strength is not to manage an ultra talented group of players.

The audio on these videos recently being uploaded from talksport have been awful i keep hearing static noises from them, nowhere on youtube do i get these issues apart from this channel, im not sure if anyone else can hear it in the first 10 seconds of this vid.
Edit; Talksport you really need fix this its entirely off puting to watch any of your videos at the moment audio quality is absolutely awful and it even happens during your live streams on youtube.
I'm hearing the same static but you never hear it on White and Jordan. This static has triggered my misophonia a lot
Im 58 and bored with negative England managers, over the past 3 decades we really should have something to show for the English talent that has worn the shirt. Southgate is a yes man and a bang average manager.

Finally people are starting to wake up. Don't quote win percentages when England mostly play teams that most people couldn't point to on a map. Don't talk about getting to semi finals and a final after having easy draws. Talk about what happens in the crunch games when it matters. He is never gonna get England over the line. A good manager would have already won the Euros with this squad and we'd be going into this tournament as defending champions.

the management of england vs italy in the final 4 years ago was the worst game management seen in Europe in the past decade
I disagree. His game management v Croatia was far worse. He waited until the 75 minute to make a change when it was obvious we were being swamped in midfield and we needed to bring on another midfielder - probably Fabian Delph - and take off one of the 3 centre halves. Instead he moves the wing backs into midfield, keeping 3 at the back. The inevitable result off this tactical ineptitude was Croatia scoring 2 goals created from wide
positions.

Does no one remember his abysmal tenure at Middlesbrough, they haven’t been a PL club since. Hasn’t won anything with England either. He’s an U21 level coach at best.

As an American, when you drew with the USA with the players he had at his disposal, I couldn’t believe he didn’t lose his job after the tournament. How can you guys play around with this guy when you have a team that can seriously win a World Cup and a Euro Championship?
I think it's just some weird masochistic trait we've developed as a nation in recent decades. We're uncomfortable with winning so we secretly self-sabotage when it looks like we might achieve something.
It applies to all sports. We've won ONE major trophy in 21 years (rugby WC).

The top clubs, which Liverpool sadly are at the moment, wouldn't even consider Southgate. If United want to return to being a top club, they need a coach who's undoubtedly top club standard.
Fernando Santos won the Euros win Portugal. Are clubs rushing to appoint him? Even if Southgate wins the Euros, you don't see him going toe to toe with the biggest coaches in club football.

Simple as this, it won't be happening. Jim ratclifffe would instantly lose any shred of credibility and good faith he's built with the united fan base if Southgate was appointed. Normally I wouldn't expect him or any owner to acknowledge media rumours . But given the backlash over this, he might want to consider saying something . His reputation is diminishing daily, just by Southgate being linked to the job.
Southgate has not built up the tactical know how a football manager needs. He couldn't whilst being England manager playing games here and there rather than having a game every three days.

A simple way to look at this is, if Southgate doesn’t win the Euros, he will leave England which on the look at the squad he has at his disposal, would be a failure as manager. How can this failure then be touted for the United job, one of the biggest in world football?
One of the problems we've had for the longest time is we don't have a pool of elite quality managers available to manage the national team.

Winter is absolutely spot on. Whatever your opinion on Southgate, the facts are the facts; his greatest achievement is still a loss. He has not shown that he has what it takes to be a winner. Not at the league level and not at international level. It’s just facts.

Southgate has got the team playing as a team but I don’t think he can change a game. Plan B seems to be the same system with different players, instead of those tactical changes that win us games.

Even if England win the Euros, United fans won't suddenly accept Southgate is the man for their club. The general perception with England fans, not just Man United fans, will surely be that England won the Euros inspite of Southgate not because of him.
