The England manager job is not a training exercise. Staying with Gareth is just like Belgium wasting their golden generation with a sub standard manager or how spurs have wasted the best years of Kane, Lloris and Eriksen and not built a team round them when they were on an upward trajectory. Keep Southgate and you’re wasting this current crop of players
The fact that Martin wouldn't take Southgate at Arsenal says it all!! I'm a man u fan and I'd probably kill myself if Southgate became our manager, and this is coming from some who defended Southgate to the death like Danny mills and Martin, but that changed when we lost a home euro final, it was how he set the team up after we scored, he went defensive instead of going for it and then the same kinda thing in this tournament.
As an England supporter for over 40 years I’ve heard and seen every excuse going as to why we haven’t won a tournament , we’ve had world class players world class managers and still won nothing..if it were up to me I’d keep Southgate for the next tournament but in that time get someone else in place for 2026..but I don’t think it will make a difference on who you get ..we are not good enough!🤷♂️
I can just imagine the next England striker to miss a vital penalty, grief stricken, stood by the penalty spot as the opponents run away celebrating. Out the corner of his eye he sees Southgate circling nearby, then closing in and reaching out with those long empathic fingers, clutching his head in mutual despair, whispering in to his ear. You’re it.
A penalty kick is the greatest chance to score a goal in the game of Futbol. When you are paid millions, and all you do is train for a living, penalty kicks should be automatic. Yes, pressure is huge. But it's the years and decades of training that should destroy that feeling of pressure. The best in the world have had penalties saved, but, RARELY, do they sky them to the heavens.
Keown is 20/30 IQ points BELOW winning a debate with Simon Jordan! There are class managers around at the minute who would do a better job than Southgate. He has had 3 bites of the cherry, and, as Simon states, was put out of those tournaments by the first team they played that were equal to or better than them. England NEVER are able to do what is necessary to tin a tight game. They need a manager in charge that can make the correct decisions at the right time and snatch 'victory from the jaws of victory', not 'defeat from the jaws of victory'. Southgate is a dud, a 'yes' man who tries to please too many ppl at the same time. By the way, if Southgate resigns i'll eat my hat; why the hell would he whan he has 100s of 1000s of pounds to lose. There's certainly NO top club side in the world who would hire him.

Southgate, an average manager by international standards, managed to achieve nothing at the helm while managing a crop of really good players. We progressed, we have a vision and we're on an upward trajectory under his steady stewardship blah, blah. But the trophy shelves are empty. Could he ever fire up England, at least in part, as Walid Regragui did with Morroco, for example? Short answer: No.
He called out Pickford for the first goal and bad marking for the second as well, and highlighted his view that we failed to stop Griezmann tactically, AND conceded that Gareth maybe failed to make the right calls as a manager during the second half.
I thoroughly enjoy Martin Keown continuously coming in the studio and being absolutely skewered by Jordan every single time 🤣 He properly dodged the Southgate managing Arsenal question too, what a fooking idjit
To win the EUROs we'll probably have to beat France. Does anyone seriously think we can beat the French playing like Southgate makes that team play? We came close only because of the 2 penalties, not 1 goal from open play, two chances from open play were ok, but got wasted. Lets say we put 1 of those 2 in, French go on a counter attack and score the winner, because we cant stop Mbappe, Giroud and Dembele. We can stop 1 or two of them, but not all 3. So thats checkmate.
Why do they keep going on about Croatia beating us. We beat Croatia the last time we played them which was at the Euros. As for us getting closer to beating a strong team, we did not get closer to beating a strong team, we got further away. We did not lose against Italy in open play, we drew and then lost on penalties. And we did not lose against Germany, Croatia and Denmark the last timer we met them, we beat them in open play. Against France we lost in open play. But why did we beat Germany? Sterling put us ahead. Why did we beat Croatia? Sterling put us ahead. Why did we beat Denmark? We were down one goal, but then Sterling brought us level and then made an assist for Kane to put us ahead. Why did we lose against France and why did we have no chance of beating them? Sterling was not playing. Just common sense. Peace and love

Delusional! England aren’t that good. Fact! They have some really good young prospects and a couple of world class players. The rest are average. Southgate isn’t a tactician! They’re talking about the group of players like it’s a golden generation. Nowhere near it.
It's a case of Southgate over achieving with average players simple as, Sven and capello had much better squads than Southgate and done much worse, give Gareth credit for building a young squad
In 02 they went out against 2 once in a generation players on a better Brazil squad. In 06 they were robbed of against Germany as everyone saw afterward that lampards shot crossed the line. Southgate has a better squad and has underachieved

@@IWTBF Not even that good ? ha ha ha
You are finished ETH and Teta are clear of Southgate.
Arsenal are top of the league - why would we want a new manager?
Southgate should have brought rashford on when the game was level and England would probably be semi or even finalists
The majority of people that said why is he taking rashford then saying why didn’t he come on amazes me
Had to bring his boyfriend sterling on
Jim's witt and humour is so underrated 😆 🤣
No it’s not 😂 Jim shite
Yeah people like to ridicule him but he's quite funny.
The FA about a decade ago when they revamped their system: "Our target is to win a trophy by 2022"......... If not, then what's next?
As an England supporter for over 40 years I’ve heard and seen every excuse going as to why we haven’t won a tournament , we’ve had world class players world class managers and still won nothing..if it were up to me I’d keep Southgate for the next tournament but in that time get someone else in place for 2026..but I don’t think it will make a difference on who you get ..we are not good enough!🤷♂️
We are good losers simple as
Nice guys win SFA, players and managers who win regularly are absolutely ruthless. Southgate isnt made in that mould.
Actually with Keown and behind Southgate myself. Easy to criticise in the pub
Jim loves to twerk for Simon when he’s arguing with keown 😂😂
Jim twerks for Simon automatically😂
I've not heard this metaphor before. It's brilliant. Jim is defo doing handstand twerks. thank you 😂
@@DS-tj1vh Thats a spready to the gods. From Ozzyman.

Martin doing a “ no chance of another contract” appearance. Weighed down by the huge chip on his shoulder. Well done Simon keep it coming!!!
Simon: Do you think he’s an elite manager…..
Martin: he’s an elite leader
😂😂😂😂
Look at Southgate’s record against bigger teams out think in tactics speak for it self Martin
You’re it.
Last sentence in your post makes no sense.

@@josephstalin4906 LOL. Your Commie IQ is clearly not on the same level as this joke.
Morocco caused France more problems than us from open play….
‘A great French side’
They were on the ropes against MOROCCO 😂😂😂
HEATED ARGUMENT STARTS AT 16:37
Makes me crease when keown randomly goes on a tangent from the original question 😂
You can't argue with southgates experience and skill he brings, to give his players a nice little cuddle when they knocked out every tournament.
6:55 ‘shut up Martin we’ve to take a break - but not after I read this out…’ ouch…
"it is a commercial radio station" LoL
I disagree with Keown entirely but that was mad disrespectful
@@ejp9405 Yeah i think there's a line where you cross over past clever Banter, into blatant disrespect - and i think this is where they've got to now - and it really puts me off listening to them
80 games as a club manager in one season? He was Middlesbrough manager not fucking Man City
Give Southgate an eternity I still don't think he will win
Spot on, never beats the good nations
So why didn’t Southgate get someone on Greizmann
No more 'Yes men', get this superb squad a 'Win man'.
I love how Martin points out a couple tactical errors in Southgate’s setup, but throughout the video he’s defending Southgate as a manager.
Get in there Martin, talks sense while the other 2 try to stir it.
I get the feeling Jim doesn't like Keown 🤣🤣
Who does
I've got a feeling Martin hates Fridays
@@lfcspectre4335 Proper Clobbering for Martin day on Friday
Martin you rabbit to long. Every game was important, to many excuses. Your tactics went over many heads. Simon you are correct. Martin cookoo lnd
how much time does he need? morocco manager had 3 months and got a semi final.
To not bring Trent on with 10 to go was stupidity yeah Mbappe might of scored one but at least go for it and try.
They did Gareth dirty with that thumbnail 😅
Why? He's whispering into his ear...
The fact keown thinks we went out because kane missed a Penalty is beyond laughable. Literally blows my mind!
Says the guy who cannot spell eejit, ya EEJIT.
@@zu1875lu Very convincing argument, that's the best you can come up with? 🤦 Is that you Martin?
Jim White starting an argument he can’t finish so steps in Simon to rescue him as usual 😂 Bitter Scot
I mean Jim is kinda right.
It’s all excuses and concessions with the England gang. It’s pathetic.
Known is a cry baby.
Its literally his role in this format to start conversation to let Simon rattle on about them.
That’s his job, stupid.
@@1305vishalI like Jordan but Jim is a clown
To win the EUROs we'll probably have to beat France. Does anyone seriously think we can beat the French playing like Southgate makes that team play? We came close only because of the 2 penalties, not 1 goal from open play, two chances from open play were ok, but got wasted. Lets say we put 1 of those 2 in, French go on a counter attack and score the winner, because we cant stop Mbappe, Giroud and Dembele. We can stop 1 or two of them, but not all 3. So thats checkmate.
"Would you have him manage Arsenal"?
Utter silence from Keown 😆
these conversations remind me of when we had Ole at United 😂
Was there a competition in the studio to dress like Darth Vader?
"Great, we came second in the game..."🤣🤣
Only thing this is proving is that southgate has grown a great relationship with english media. A coach in any serious country got to resign and dont get me started on parry pane
Well done Martin, holding your own.
😂 I love dry wit.
Haha holding his own😂
Delusional! England aren’t that good. Fact! They have some really good young prospects and a couple of world class players. The rest are average. Southgate isn’t a tactician! They’re talking about the group of players like it’s a golden generation. Nowhere near it.
Little wonder Martin only does one day a week, it takes a week to get over the intellectual beating he gets every appearance.
You can tell Simon can't take anything Keown says seriously, he's just sat there laughing at the ape 🤣🤣
Why is it that Simon Jordan is the only one on Talksport that is smart and talks sense?
Why is Jim dressed like a Bond Villain's right hand man?
Improving…..England were relegated in the Nations League. That’s failure in my book
It's a case of Southgate over achieving with average players simple as, Sven and capello had much better squads than Southgate and done much worse, give Gareth credit for building a young squad
over achieving .... lol against who.. Panama, Wales, Iran...lol.. England have top top players developed by their clubs... you haven't got a clue ...
In 02 they went out against 2 once in a generation players on a better Brazil squad. In 06 they were robbed of against Germany as everyone saw afterward that lampards shot crossed the line. Southgate has a better squad and has underachieved
@@Alloyd876 Your right and why people compare with the past..
