NEW YEARS EVE! In this video I talk about all the new years eve’s I worked in the 1980’s. Lots of insanity! I worked as a DJ or in a nightclub every New Years Eve from 1978 to 2012. I talk about my first working NYE at my dad’s after hours club The Spot, and other NYE parties at Speaks, The Paradise Garage, Malibu and with LA Guns at the Troubadour in Hollywood . New Year’s Eve just is not the same anymore as far as everyone going out and partying and not staying home. There was a bar or a nightclub for every age group back then. The world also wasn’t as crazy and dangerous as it is today so everyone went out to party on NYE. Plus in 1982 the drinking age was still 18 in NY state and there was no photo on a drivers license until 1985! Clubs were filled 7 nights a week with thousands of teenagers and people in their early twenties. Those were the last days of the golden nightclub scene on Long Island NY. The last days of legal reckless abandon.
