When you load a sound to test different sounds, you can hit “undo” after and it will remove it from the pad and sample pool. I usually load, hit undo, and then scroll down to next sound to test.

Wow , i started 3 months ago and wondered how to imply my 808 if i have a beat with a drum kick. So thay last part with the mute group is what i needed to know. I impatiantly commemted that question before your video ended. LoL . Much thanks from the netherlands...

Great video fam! 🔥 Question… when you put the 808 in its key group, does it automatically set it to its root note? For instance, if your 808 was in A minor, would changing the key be based of its root of A minor, or off the default of C? I hope you understand my question 😂

Great tips as usual, you know your MPC really well. You ever Use controller mode and find it easier for workflow? I sold my live for a X, my workflow much easier with all the Q links and other buttons.

Nice Video.. Sucks Using the 808 In My MPC KEY 61 . Feels I can't get the right Key. So i just export the project with no 808 to FL Studio and I just start adding the 808 in FL studio since it's super easier

But what if you laid down drum kick in a song but want to add a 808 to it ? When i do that the drumkick and 808 are interfering with eachoter. Do i need to use mute 1 for that too ? Or remove drumkick ?
Pick which one you want to have the low end space. They can’t both occupy it. They have to sound great together and then you EQ to clean up just a bit. Also you can adjust the attack on the 808 when the kick hits. Also, the phase of the kick and 808 need to match. Reverse the phase of kick and see which one sounds the best. This is a rabbit hole honestly….
Nice vid! Is there a way for one shots/808s to have them properly stretch like in FL and not end so quick when playing in the high range? Really low notes play forever, and the higher range are really quick...Thanks!
you would just warp it to the tempo but mpc warp is not ideal
Are you suppose to layer the 808 on top of the kick, like is your 808 supposed to be the exact same pattern as the kick drum??? This is what I can't comprehend. Can anyone help???
bro stop thinking about rules because of course you can layer your 808 as the same pattern as your kick if anything thats make the track sound more cohesive but once you get a bit better you can then find different spot to where the 808 and kick hit separately but do more critical listening to your favorite beats not songs so you can understand different uses

Dope video! What if your song is in E and your 808 is in C. How do you change the 808 root note to E to match my song?
you wouldn't need to change it you would just use pad perform and put the scale to e minor or major , you only have to change the sample root note if its not c

I can tell you a good teacher, but I’m not gonna learn nothing from this video because we’re working on two different mpc I have the MPC Renaissance you have the MPC live. It’s not gonna even work. I wish you could do another video in the MPC Renaissance I’m sick and tired of trying to figure out how to make my 808 pop how to get it working right? I’ve been struggling for 4 years. I’m done.
