They love sesame oil as well, so the bulgogi was probably intended to look like that with the oil at the bottom. The rice is supposed to be sticky. It makes it much easier to grab with chopsticks and good Korean restaurants typically will serve it that way. Also, it is time for your trip to Korea!

Then again, it's a restaurant in America... rather than eating in Korea. Also, you (to Brennen) weren't actually eating ramen. You were eating Korean ramyeon (the words look similar but if you listen to the official pronunciation, they're different), it's a spin-off of Japanese ramen, but with tons more flavor like you said. Ramen is very subtle while ramyeon is usually spicy and packs quite a punch. They're still very similar though in looks and ingredients.

there are some KBBQ places that already has a menu that serves both. so you can have your cooked meats for to-share meals, or even solo meals, or have the raw ones that you'd like to cook on hand. but in my experience in some authentic Korean restaurants where i live and KBBQ restos i've tried in Korea, it's really up to your preference if you want to do it yourself or not and the servers wouldn't mind :)

I'm thinking you might've disliked the bibimbap because you weren't eating it correctly! Next time, try mixing everything together - then just eat it with the spoon. That's how it's supposed to be eaten, rather than you eating the veggies and meats separately from the rice :)

@@BrennenTaylor My bad, it was hard to see! :o Also though, the rice isn't old - it should be sticky :D It looked like stone pot bibimbap (my favorite). When it's served in a stove pot, the rice on the bottom keeps cooking while you're eating, so it gets a little fried and crispy. I eat too much Korean food for my own good :')
For real I eye roll sooooo hard watching people who try to eat all of their bowl of bibimbap using only chopsticks. USE THE SPOON! That's why they gave it to you! 🤣

@@saromtoch2294 and what about it??? it's normal that someone knows kpop just because of bts, they are so famous and influential at this point. I became a kpop fan in 2011, and I like a lot of different groups, but if someone knows kpop just because of BTS, what's the problem? As long as they don't disrespect the rest of the groups, it's fine.
And saying 'better groups' is not necessarily true, there is not such a thing as 'the best group' it depends on the music taste of the different individuals, maybe for me my favorite group is SHINee and maybe for you is Twice (just an example) and for me shinee is the best and for you, it's not, it just depends.

They cook it in front of you in a Japanese steak house
there are some KBBQ places that already has a menu that serves both. so you can have your cooked meats for to-share meals, or even solo meals, or have the raw ones that you'd like to cook on hand. but in my experience in some authentic Korean restaurants where i live and KBBQ restos i've tried in Korea, it's really up to your preference if you want to do it yourself or not and the servers wouldn't mind :)
